wow great job! My step father just passed "RIP Tom" and he left me his 1983 250r atc (been asking for years if he wanted to get rid of it but never said yeah not until now) it is in good shape for sitting for years all original and ready to be brought back to life. I've rebuilt one (an 83 actually) many years ago I did the whole restore, powder coat, rebuild, new plastics and all the good stuff so I was getting ready to do it again but I am got blown away by the increase in parts cost. last one I rebuilt I paid $150 for front and rear plastics and now it's 450 for just the rear wow the cost is gonna bankrupt me lol not really but it is more expensive then the first time. oh BTW my rebuild was a great build but no where near as nice as yours you did a fantastic job it looks brand new my hats off to you my friend.
@eagle nest i agree. Its no different thsn a firearm. If someone breaks the firearms saftey rules and shoots themselves or even does it intentionally the manufacturer can't be sued. They have a special exemption. I mean drain-o has a warning lable and its enough. Ford didn't stop making the f150 and I wiuld bet in any given year far mofe people were injured or killed than atv riders. This especially in the states, it a prime example of the legislation idiots being over reaching in the authority that has been given to them. You can purchased the ready to ride converted 450 dirt bikes that have been made into 3 wheelers. There is a company who is filling this part of the market and they are bad @ss.
@@FreedomInc that is some stupid shit, discontinuing 3 wheelers, I loved riding them, hangin off the side, drifting around snow covered streets, nothing better.
Just started tearing down my 85 350x and I hope it comes close to this sweet when I'm done.Dont think I'll go as shiny just because it's a 4 stroke but gonna have some bling......Awesome job sir...Love the 2 stroke symphony ........👌👌👌👌👌👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🎩🎩🎩🎩🎩
bad ass vid bad ass music boston been such a long time brings me back im in my fiftys i had a 1981 250r 1988 4trax 250r many hondas this music brings me back to a time in my barn getin stoned drinking bud and working on my bikes miss the ild days everyone getting together in carver mass on sunday going riding down the pits or cape way race track then partying all night god bless hope your chan grows🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁👍
Very inspiring. Awesome to see something restored back to 110% better after you know it had nothing but a hard life from off the showroom floor. Awesome work. True Craftsman and your eye for detail is on point.
Sweet build, brother. When I was a kid, these were my Mount Everest of toys. Unfortunately, they were beyond my parents' purchasing power. I did eventually get a used cr250 in the early 90s though.
Aside from an 86 this is about the top of the totum pole for vintage bikes that deserve saving. Many were abused and neglected but Honda built um right and it shows. How sweet it would be if someone built an aluminum frame to resemble the dirt bike. Something about rolling into the throttle made it hard to stop. Before you know it you are going way faster than you should be. The factory oatsu tires were hard to beat also.
Would u like to sell it, my brother is not well and I would like him to ride his favorite toy from back in the day??? Would fulfill his final wishes. Love from Chicago
That’s what makes me very happy in life at 41 . Crazy how this three wheeler shit never gets old and never will . Yea om a young buck but I appricate all you good folk doin your part and holdin it down . Yeeee fuckkin hhaaaaaaaaaa!
Awesome totally awesome!! Thank you for reminding me of the greatest decade ever the 80’s. I have only one problem get rid of that Pittsburgh Steelers rally towel
I remember in the 80’s when you got a bike it was bone stock and it stayed stock. I mean there was no internet to order parts and we did not have any money to modify it like you kids today. It was a feat to just get an ATC 250R. Parents did not lay the cash out like they do today for their kids. I will say if you needed parts you went to the junk yard or the dealer or you had to mail order from a company in back pages of dirt wheels magazine LOL. That was a royal pain in the arse. Like I said it was very rare to see bikes, quads and ATC’s worked out like you do today.
Lol. People would cry their ass off if they had to wait 6-8 weeks for delivery from Amazon these days. When I was a kid, it was normal. If you wanted to have something in the Fall, you ordered it at the beginning of the summer.
Its been my dream to do exactly what you did for most of my adult life. Dreamed about those things when they came out and I was 12. Great job, I am very jealous and hope to do the same still one day - R or a 350X at least.
I've got a 1986 350X that I'd love to give the same treatment to. I'm in Ontario, north of Toronto, I would need assistance with it if I ever were to attempt this.
Bro I grew up riding that same trike and a 350x two bikes I regret getting taken!!! That is a work of art you should put some video of you riding it. Makes me want to ride one. I can't afford it and no one has a trike
That’s spot on man. I’m always wary when a vehicle has been restored cause you’ve got no idea of the competence or diligence of the person who did it. I’m going to book my ticket to the USA and buy one off yer
I bought one of these brand new in 1985 . It was fast 40 hp,6 speed, water cooled , hydraulic brakes. It was like new when I sold it. I wish I had it back.
I have an 85 still runs today only had to rebuild once put a Big Bore Kit in it Wiseco racing piston back in that day that was the one to get quite fast
That’s one bad ass bike and you are quite the mechanic wish you were my neighbor how the heck did you get the motor in with no damage to anything there all a pain to get out and in
I'm surprised you can still find parts. I wish I could make you an offer that you couldn't refuse (no not at gun point🤣) for this,I had one in the early 90s and LOVED IT!
Damn dude. There's no way i could remember where everything goes. I would've left swingarm and wheels gold. Just my preference but that is a nice job on a nice bike
Where did you find most of the rebuild parts for this? I bought a 1986 250r that I'm going to rebuild with my kids and I was curious on stuff like the master cylinder rebuild and calipers,
Is that tool box on backwards. I’m not taking anything away you do assume work bro. I’m only watching cuz im in the middle of my 86 250r getting ideas. Good job.😊
Now just don't ride it in California cause the green police will throw you in prison. Nice build that's freaking beautiful. My dad's 250R was stolen the week he paid it off back in 1989 . Someone stole it out of the carport road it to the hills about 5 miles away parked it in an abandoned farm shed ....in 2005ish he gets a call from the police saying they recoverd it. The thing sat rusting all those years in a shed he drove past almost daily. Sad thing is it was most likely a punk kid that my older sisters hung out with . I miss those days , dad always took us riding and we all had bikes. No matter how broke we were he made a way to go on holiday weekends.
I see you have the TMX carb on that bike. You need to change the emotion tube from #9 to a #7 This will take out all the the low end bog. And I have a needle I recommend you to run 16204-ksk-672 clip on top The needle is from cr250 2004 to 2007 400 main or 420 40 pilot Sea leave Very clean bike bud
I had 4 , an 81 82 83 and 84, loved them all, no substitution for 2 stroke power, hardest things in the world to ride but the most fun after you master it. I'm 58 and I'll have another one in due time.
@ Jeramiah G. These where the most awesomeness toys on the planet and I’ll continue to pass them on to my grandkids, which I have 3 of them now and their riding

Great build man perfect tunes choices too took me back to the mid 80’s when 250R’s were on showroom floors
You would thing with as popular they are, honda would bring them back out.

Dirt Wheels Magazine, that brings back memories. I subscribed to it, and 3 Wheeling Magazine, both of them. I still have all my back issues.
Perfect Soundtrack. Amazing Restoration

Took the 80s look away from the frame
Nice bike.. Best wishes with it.. myself I would have kept it stock color..
Kinda hard now days, most of the aftermarket plastics are white
White or red was the color scheme for them in early 80s
you have the best i have seen great work and a lot of it right super nice
Way to do it up! Im still rocking my 86 350x
I’d love to get my hands on one. Sadly in 2021 the cost of admission is about 2M.😂 And that’s if you can find one.
Where did you find most of the rebuild parts for this? I bought a 1986 250r that I'm going to rebuild with my kids and I was curious on stuff like the master cylinder rebuild and calipers,
Do you have a link for the swingarm linkage (dog bone) bushing rebuild kit?

If that bike had a p***y, id eat it! Lmao....beautiful!
If you’ve never been on one, you wouldn’t understand
Takes a advanced rider. Grew up on three wheelers from 125's - 250 TRI-Z - very fast
JIM HARRIS agreed, started off with a Honda 90cc and moved up to a 250r
