- How to Calculate Your Pet's Resting Energy Requirement
In this video, I will teach you how to calculate your pet's resting energy requirement (RER). The RER is the amount of energy your pet needs to simply maintain its body functions at rest. It is the foundation for calculating your pet's total daily energy requirement (DER), which includes the energy your pet needs for activity, growth, and reproduction.
I will walk you through the step-by-step process of calculating your pet's RER, and we will provide you with two simple formulas that you can use. We will also discuss the factors that can affect your pet's RER, such as its age, breed, and activity level.
By the end of this video, you will be able to calculate your pet's RER and ensure that it is getting the right amount of food to maintain a healthy weight.
