It is the 9th film produced by Keystone starring Charlie Chaplin .
The landlady of a boarding house shows special consideration for one of her guests (0:29, Charlie Chaplin), who is not well-liked by the other residents. However, the woman's husband (1:35, Edgar Kennedy) is displeased with the situation that has arisen. (3:07) The landlady and Charlie go out for a walk, stop to play a tennis match (3:22), and their relationship seems to become quite intimate (3:59). The jealous husband shadows his wife, but at the same time, he succumbs to the attentions of a young lady. Meanwhile, the couple's son follows them armed with a camera (4:11). Upon returning to the boarding house, all the guests are invited to watch a slideshow of the little boy's photos (8:21), which escalates into a brawl and ends with a flurry of spankings for the curious rascal.

Tennis was Charlie Chaplin's favorite sport, which he practiced until an ankle fracture forced him to retire. (3:22) In this scene, Chaplin gives us proof of his extraordinary talent for this sport by making us believe the opposite, that he is completely incapable, much like in the skating scenes in The Rink or Modern Times .

Bonjour, je suis admiratif de votre travail. J'ai téléchargé tous vos court-métrages sur Charlie Chaplin sur mon disque dur pour des visionnages personnels. J'ai aussi du D.W.Griffith, Lon Chaney, Buster Keaton, Douglas Fairbanks, Harold Lloyd, Rudolph Valentino, expressionnisme, western muet, etcetera. Le chanteur de jazz de 1927 est considéré comme le 1er film parlant, mais ce n'est pas le 1er parlant à 100%, pour moi la transition s'est faite vraiment en 1929, exemple le 1er film parlant européen a été chantage (blackmail en anglais) d'Alfred Hitchcock et Les trois masques aussi en 1929 pour le 1er film parlant français. Sinon pour moi les frères Lumière ne sont pas les inventeurs du cinéma, il y a eu Une scène au jardin de Roundhay en 1888 de Louis le Prince. Pour conclure, avez vous dans vos projets, celui d'incorporer la série des Alice Comedie de Disney des années 20 dans une de vos playlists ? Voilà, j'ai fini, désolé pour la longueur du texte.
