I am using i9 14900k for 6 months I faced this issues on 1st week itself and Since I work on Hardware designs I tried to understand whats really going on .. The problem is as you said 1. Few core run at max GHz for example my core 5 and 6 is going upto 6GHz my other P core is at 5.6GHz 2. High Power and Current inputs from motherboard 4096W and 512A, which is not the intel recommended because of the processor is running to its max capability the voltage limits when to 1.5V and above, if this continues it may leads to fast degradation. 3. Because of this above issues when I was playing MW3 multiplayer or warzone it will crash without any error and sometimes the pc turned of itself. Consequences: If someone follow with the above issue definitely you will enjoy your gameplay for the price you spent and Processor will degrade soon. SOLUTION: Need to change BIOS settings Regardless of microcode update . We need to change the power,current and Pcore max limits. My settings is for msi motherboard: 253W, 320A and 59GHz for all 8 Pcore also i undervolt -0.075 now i get high performance without any power,current and thermal throttling.

No bro laptops CPUs are'nt affected by this. If u face any crash it might be any other problem. I think the the max velocity engine is only present in Desktop version and especially PC motherboard makers crank the settings up. Laptops are much secured
laptop cpu 's are also affecting but nobody is talking about it . Sometimes you face crashes or bsod , even dead cpu, these cheapstake laptop companies don't even take responsibility for their own defective products .
Same problem happening with Lenovo LOQ laptops with Intel Core i5 12th and 13th HX series processors. Main reasons are high TDP and more number of cores. Intel still sticks to 10nm technology. As of today, AMD wins the game.
@@aaronhinn7071 As far as I know, It's HX. Go for Ryzen 7 7435HS even though it had slightly less single core performance than Intel, you won't have that much of difference in real-time. Also, 7435HS smokes 12th gen Intel in multicore performance. AMD chips are efficient too.
