This is the third session of an eighteen-lesson course for absolute beginners wishing to learn Arabic. In this lesson, you will learn about the three short vowel sounds: fat-ha, kasra and damma, with ample opportunity to apply what you have learnt through extensive reading practice. You will also learn how to ask for someone's name in Arabic and to introduce yourself by name.
The course as a whole is based on the book 'Arabic from the Beginning: Part One' by Dr. Imran Hamza Alawiye, which is available from the publisher's website: www.gatewaytoarabic.com. The course teaches everything you need to know to read and write the Arabic script, as well as useful Arabic phrases.

While many people make videos trying to teach languages, it's clear that Dr. Imran has A LOT of experience teaching REAL people. He hasn't even met us but seems to know exactly when to slow down, when to stop, what we'll have trouble with etc. Things like that only come from experience.

@@AngeloGreene It's MSA (Modern Standard Arabic), it's not a dialect. It's taught in school as a second language, much more formal than the dialects. You will hear it in the news, some classes and conferences but nobody speaks it in the street colloquially. The written form is extremely common though. It's generally compared to Shakespearian English.

Professor Alawiye, thank you for your patient and effective way of teaching a very complex and difficult language for millions of us that were born in Islam and grew up with Islam, and still found it very difficult and hard to learn Arabic even though we learnt to read it through Quranic teachings and recitations but still could not decipher and understand the science behind the language. @@yuuji9158 Well when I was little I had learned everything about arabic and I even finished the Qur'an at that time. But growing up I stopped which is how I forgot Arabic. Inshallah this will be easy for me.

I'm a Vietnamese; I'm studying Arabic. First, I thought it very tough for learning, but after I study with the Imran Alawiye's video, I feel that the Arabic is not difficult as I thought before. Thanks so much.
My wife is from Egypt and as a Russian native speaker i was terrified by the complexity of the arabic... We do have some similar sounds though! My throat still refuses pronunciation of some words but at least i have hope now! Thank you so much! Bought all of your book-series i hope i dont give up along the way hehe....

My dad has sent me to an arabic school (along with regular school) for 4 years now. And only my dad speaks french in the house. In the arabic school the teachers dont even know english and the students speak arabic (and english cuz the school is in uk). And I find learning stuff (particulary other languages) much easier too learn on the internet. In school I am learning french, and i teach myself some french at home too. My dad also speaks french too as his first language (Algerian) , so that's a boost) .

Verly Allah is the All Knowing all Aware thank you Allah for this teacher I needed to teach my children because there is no school around me for arabic but i learned arabic 1993 far away from my hometown .this make me easy to teach my children 2020 how I learned.šukren
