Most of the Amon Amarth riffs are quite simple and easy to learn but they just sound awesome. Music doesnt need to be too complicated! One of my favourite bands and they are one of the reasons to keep my motivation up with guitar!
>Most of the Amon Amarth riffs are quite simple No, they're not. They often use pedal tones, tremolo picking and string skipping. Simple riffs are the ones where you just chug basic power chords. What you're describing applies more to Rammstein. A beginner would definitely not be able to play most of Amon Amarth's songs. At least, play it cleanly.
99% agree with you, but I did feel like "Back on Northern Shores" to end Jomsviking was a brilliant piece of songwriting, and "Twilight of the Thunder God" really does have an all-time great intro guitar riff. Just personal opinion, those early albums were fantastic.

Embrace de Endless Ocean is an amazing song. If I am too high and emotional, tears start to form in my eyes at the end of the song. I think is one of their most emotional songs, togheter with "fate of norns" .

Same for Twilight

early amon amarth is so underrated, yet their best songs are from that era.
Bad productuion kept me away from their albums but have quickly become some of my favorite albums ever made after listening to them with an open mind
My favourite is the transition album between the two eras : With Oden On Our Side

nah... surtur Rising is better

Am I the only one who thinks On A Sea Of Blood never gets the credit it deserves?
No, I think It too
The whole album is criminally underrated.
I same to think it.
Giovani Bottesini most underrated song by them
That, First Kill, and Back on Northern Shores are definitely my favorites off that album
