EXPLORING WEST CHIVERTON MINE

first time heading to this location and it won't be the last folks the mine first open in 1846 as ventonggimps mine and then closed 3 years later then the mine opened again as it's name was changed to West chiverton mine starting producing lead silver and zinc and was a very well producing mine the mind continued to work for over 30 years and until 1871. then they ceased working at deep adit started working shallow mine section the mine in its heyday employed 838 people. in its last workings of the dumps which was around 1917 until 1922 this mine was very interesting explore on this day if you enjoyed the video and you would like to help us why not buy us a coffee the link is below. www.buymeacoff...

You were spot on that you were looking at boiler house, used to supply steam to the stamps engines.
Unfortunately all dynamited in 1952.
Engine house held an 80 inch pumping engine built by Harvey’s of hayle
In 1868.
Engine moved to gwennap United in 1899?That’s the one overlooking the race track I believe.
Friend told me that fence was up around engine house probably 2 year back now, health and safety I suppose. But a pity.
