There's been several lightsaber resistant materials in the extended universe. Beskar, songsteel and Kortosis. What I want to know is how/ where did the stranger forge it Oh also, the lightsaber can be turned on again rather quickly, I believe Anakin got 3 hits on a cortosis modified B2 before it turned to get a shot off at him
Every decision is to move the plot forward. The twins don't make any sense as characters. No the writers they hired were not Star Wars fans. So they didn’t know the lore or the content. That’s where they failed. Before they even shot a second of this show they failed by hiring non Star Wars fans to write a series that was a drama with a Star Wars skin. WBD did this with Rick and Morty doing an anime drama with a Rick and Morty skin.
Ok. I didn't see the scene with Smilo-Ren saying he wants to be who he wants to be and have an apprentice. Sounds like the Jedi are Chrisitians and Smilo want to be an alphabet person without Christians persecuting him. What is Lezbian Headland projecting??
They aren't very subtle. The Jedi have always had Christian overtones, whatever you read into that. And of course that means modern writers need to make them the actual villains and hypocrites.
Oh that’s tough. Agatha isn’t watchable, Acolyte is enjoyable to laugh at, but ROP breaks so much canon and destroys long loved characters while blowing many times the crazy budgets of the others. The first two at least have (mostly) new characters and timeline so I’d say ROP is the one failure to rule them all.
As a nerd who read the SW books before Disney canned them, Cortosis was a material that Darth Bane mined in his early years and most high quality Mandalorian armor was made of the stuff, as it could do what The Stranger's helmet did: resist lightsaber damage. So it looks like Disney decided to keep that little tidbit from Legends.
Im glad you brought up lighting, ages ago there was a movie i watched called ninja assassin and this couldve been the best mvoie ever for all i knew, cus it was so dark, I couldnt tell what was going on, I remember thinking to myself "this guy might as well be psychic cus all im seeing is a blur in the background and then the henchman gets whacked"
The one thing I will say about The Acolyte, I haven't ever watched a Star Wars before that killed off more people I didn't like and didn't care for... It was almost spooky every time someone died... "yep didn't care about that one" "yep neither that one"!
4:30 lol, no, you're giving this show waaaay too much credit. He knew she would come back to life with just one stab, probably even two, so he did three to be safe. And it shows you need to get stabbed three times for a lightsaber to kill someone.
I saw the full thing... apparently Qimir pulled the other Jedi into their friend with the Force. Not much better, since apparently Qimir remembers to use the Force, but the Jedi don't.
The Crapolyte, the Sequel Trilogy, Rangs of Gurl Powah, Kenobody, The Marvels, Echo, Madame Web, The Eternals, She-Hulk, Agatha All Along.... we truly live in the sh1ttest timeline.
Every character in the show says whatever is convenient for the moment, even if it contradicts what they said in the previous scene. When interviewed, Headland says whatever is convenient for the moment, even if it contradicts what she said five seconds before. Probably a coincidence.
everytime i see that scene of Sol talking about "not attacking the unarmed" i just think about the fact that HE WAS THE ONE THAT UNARMED THE MURDEROUS PSYCHOPATH.
The whole show is for disney executive to shut leslye headland up for secret she knows, and way of paying her off legally, so she can pay tax and use it without IRS snooping. Lol
The only good thing about Disney making more of this is that it brings them another step towards bankruptcy, but unfortunately someone noticed and canceled it
I gave up after watching Kenobi. And second (I will give a show an adjustment period)episode of Ashoka left me in seizures and I was found 2 days later. Robothead is jumping on grenades while going over the top in Gallipoli. Saved me from having that brain thing and more seizures.
I absolutely hate those fighting choreographies as they stand more with their backs turned in spinning to their opponent that using their weapon properly ... Disney still doesn't understand lightsaber
Yesterday someone still brought up that tired defense that Disney will bring back the show after a few years. I explained to them how that's not going to happen since the show wasn't popular and badly written. He kept on insisting it would and I kept pushing back. Dude moved the goalposts and said the story will continue in books or comics. The cope is real for these people
How can it be so incredibly stupid without someone actively wanting it to be that stupid? What are the chances it is that brain dead with someone wanting it to be "good" for some definition of "good"? Boggles the mind.
I'm sure it's all just a subtle and terribly clever set-up for the good guys to win, the bad guys get deservedly defeated, the twins reconcile, and a way found to get back to the Jedi Temple to report that it was only a pretend Sith, and thus keep continuity intact. Right? Riigghhhttt?? Yes, I've seen the finale. I'm still astonished at how it played out. Farewell, Star Wars.
Regarding Qimir's helmet, the old Legends lore actually does include Cortosis, which _can_ disrupt lightsabers and turn them off. But I think it only has a _chance_ to deactivate them, not a 100% chance (I think... my Legends knowledge is a bit rusty). And as you mentioned, the Jedi shouldn't be defenseless. In one Legends comic, Vader snapped the neck of a Jedi who used a Cortosis Blade to deactivate his lightsaber, as if to demonstrate how he was not powerless without his weapon. The rest is still total crap, though... I mean, I just wish the characters actually acted like they gave a f+×k. But when you care more about a political agenda than you do the universe and writing, how do you expect fans will react?
In Legends, it was a pain to mine and refine, but the purest form could short lightsabers (while incurring some damage). Maul's gloves contained impure cortosis, IIRC, so that he could use his saber as a spear to surprise the enemy.
But we have been begging them to bring back so many Legends things for years now. And THIS is what they bring back? Freaking Cortosis, which was stupid even back when it was invented? Bring back legends Luke's jedi academy! Mara Jade! The Solo twins!
I think there's a restriction with posting links in comment, all my replys are automatically removed and I tried to edit my comment then it disapear. Search on "Star Wars THE ACOLYTE - Fight Scene Autopsy" and you will find the Shadiversity video I was talking about.
The only thing unforgertable about the acolyte is the fact that Disney, taking into account it is in free falling mode with SW franchise almost dead, it has the b4llz to risk the little left it has(as well as hundred million dollars) in the hands of an unexperienced show runner such as Leslie Headland...
Just noticed but no one was killed in the original trilogy by a light sabre. Luke chopped off the nose of speeder bike in ROTJ and deflected some laser shots. But no actual murders via light sabre. Obi Wan elevated to a ghost on Darth Vader's strike on the Death Star.
1:35 Cortosis was a material which had an appearance in Thrawn Alliances. In this story, Anakin even faced of Battle Droids made out of Cortosis. I don’t know if it had an appearance before but definitively not in live action i think. But in contrast to Acolyte Anakin could fight without a lightsaber
And to think that there are people that want this renewed for a second season, either they have a very low bar when it comes to good entertainment or they're doing it out of spite because the more I watch Robot heads videos the worse the Acolyte gets

9:15 - Aaaand they keep on mixing in the sound of Vader's/Sith saber with Jedi saber...
2:02 wtf how are they so stupid to run in to the lightsaber?
I saw the full thing... apparently Qimir pulled the other Jedi into their friend with the Force.
Not much better, since apparently Qimir remembers to use the Force, but the Jedi don't.
@@lancecurry7538 ah okay, yeah didnt watched the series only this ... yeah they only use things when the script needs it XD 11
Lol
The only good thing about Disney making more of this is that it brings them another step towards bankruptcy, but unfortunately someone noticed and canceled it
Amandla might be the worst actress i have ever witness on screen in anything even most B movies.
She's a terrible actress and terrible person
13:04 Yord blocks Smilo Ren's saber with the helmet and it doesn't turn it off. I guess that feature only works for Smilo because he paid for it.
You have the sharpest wit of them all - keep 'em coming!
I gave up after watching Kenobi. And second (I will give a show an adjustment period)episode of Ashoka left me in seizures and I was found 2 days later. Robothead is jumping on grenades while going over the top in Gallipoli. Saved me from having that brain thing and more seizures.
How did I just stumble upon this channel now? This is great stuff!
I absolutely hate those fighting choreographies as they stand more with their backs turned in spinning to their opponent that using their weapon properly ... Disney still doesn't understand lightsaber
The Acolyte: the gift that keeps on giving.
10:59 perfect analogy lols ... hangover, hassled by gf, house burning down bit
The best part about the Acoshyte is the reviews😎
Thanks for all your great videos!
Thanks for watching 👍
Fudge those shows are dark dark dark (no lights) Ring of Power's looks like 90% of it has been filmed during an eclipse.
There really is something dark in Headland eyes... Like they're almost blacked out.
Definitely what we need is more 😂 with the great commentary. Highlight of my day watching robot head destroy Disney. You go dude!
Basil goes on to be Jar Jar’s Master.
Just remember, at some point Sidius shows up and murders all these fools.
Star Wars is dead ☠️
It has been for a while now, starting with the sequels.
Rest in pieces, Star Wars
Useless women can't kill Star Wars because it belongs to father's and their sons.........
Don't acknowledge Useless Women
Yesterday someone still brought up that tired defense that Disney will bring back the show after a few years.
I explained to them how that's not going to happen since the show wasn't popular and badly written. He kept on insisting it would and I kept pushing back.
Dude moved the goalposts and said the story will continue in books or comics.
The cope is real for these people
The depths of stupidity of this script are truly astonishing
0:23 "gotcha by the HAIR! ha-ha. whatcha gonna DO?"🤣
The metal that disrupts lightsabers was a thing... In the extended universe... that they retconned.
We love Didney.
3:14 ahsoka was so bad i couldnt even get to its horrible action 😂😂😂
They basically reshot a bunch of this as well. Imagine the first try if this is the BEST one.
"I did something unforgivable... but you brought her!"
EXERCISE
That devil!!!
Cortosis was a metal present in comics; order of Nikto warriors known as Morgukai used blades made of cortosis to fight against Jedi.
Where have any of them been ?
I miss the public backlash against them in the comments section.
COMEDY GOLD 🏅 🎖 🏅
I haven’t seen a single episode of this show, but I watched the robot head Talk about each one. Thank you Disney for sponsoring this video. 👍
Comparing THE DUEL OF FATES to the duel of fakes, is absolutely ridiculous. Much to learn she still has 🙈
Great vid RobotHead 😎🤘🏻
1:35 Cortosis was a material which had an appearance in Thrawn Alliances. In this story, Anakin even faced of Battle Droids made out of Cortosis. I don’t know if it had an appearance before but definitively not in live action i think.
But in contrast to Acolyte Anakin could fight without a lightsaber
And to think that there are people that want this renewed for a second season, either they have a very low bar when it comes to good entertainment or they're doing it out of spite because the more I watch Robot heads videos the worse the Acolyte gets
Pair the lightsaber combat with good writing and music and boom, its xxxxx better
