Here after Belal Muhammad got eye poked and that definitely backs up what you said here. Dude took a full on head kick and didn’t drop but that eye poke had him crying on the ground.
A wonderful most effective technique combo that could really save you life for at least for you to get away, get help or deploy a weapon, even an improvised one. Thanks!
I think this changes the jab game a lot, from mainly a set up with gloves and rules, that you may afford to eat in exchange of something, to a high threat without gloves nor rules.

I scooped that damn thing until I heard POP and he started Screaming and asked me to take him to the hospital (which I did and he didn’t tell on me) we became friends after that but he’s got a lazy eye now
Eye gouging is the most effective self defense technique. Even if the bad guy is wearing glasses....even better! We get many students that come to our classes and say that eye gouging isn't fair. It is sometimes hard to tell younger people that in the street there are no rules. I love the UFC....but they fight by rules.

@@akrocuba eye gouging is already deadly force. If you turn a simple assault into elevated aggravated assault or attempted murder.... because you claim to know your attackers intent. It's hard to convince a court that you can read minds, but gouging out someone's eye can easily be used to show your intent to the court. I worked in a supermax prison. If faced with that life versus a pine box, I would take the pine box. People who haven't spent time in there have no idea. Maybe you know 100% and can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that this person will kill you. Cool. Why aren't you using a firearm at this point?

But you need distance before you pull it being that in a close quarter self defense situation, by going for your firearm first you are eliminating one of your "weapons"....that being your one arm/hand. "Soft targets" like the yes, ears, throat will make an attacker usually quit for good for a long enough period for you to get away to safety or enough distance to pull your firearm. I've trained with several prison guard and I've heard the stories. If my life or Family's lives were in danger, all rules are out. It's all about survival at that point. Nope. Prison isn't fun. But I'm not going to let some scumbag beat, rape and/or kidnap my family. If we lived in a Utopia where everyone loved everyone and bad things didn't happen to good people, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

I could see this particular kind of eye jab technique be an effective combination with Karate or similar Kung Fu martial arts.
