This stream was top tier. Seeing Pippa get some of the male experience and immediately becoming depressed and hostile towards the game/girls was like poetry in motion. Reminds me of that woman who went undercover as a man that ended up sudokuing because of it.

Yeah Norah Vincent. I thought it was pretty sad tbh. She basically thought that by pretending to be male everything would be easier only to figure out it was more lonely and miserable and that men don't have a support system and have an inability to connect with people.

Also share the criticisms about the game (yeah, it's bad) and having a named MC is never the best option, there are ways around it to make it a little more immersive. Which reminds me, there was a Playstation ONE game (VN/DatingSim) where you could input your name (kana) and the characters would actually SPEAK it. LovePlus was always mentioned whenever there was a conversation debating interactions in dating sims. It had the feature where they say your name like you mentioned and it wasn't half bad at English pronunciation despite it not leaving JP. It was on the 3ds so it had this thing where you could take a picture with your new virtual GF after you beat the first part of the game where you actually try to date them and get to know each other. Very quality, it headlined a ton when you would see those old "Japanese salary worker marries video game character" on the news.

The game is pretty hollow but I suppose that's true to the real life experience you get at these types of clubs. In a game I would much rather have the type of experience Nekopara provides even if it's unrealistic. Thanks for the stream, Pippa.
The fantasy being set up here(from what I can see) is breaking through the professional barrier and getting the girl to actually like you. I can understand the appeal there, but it's definitely going to be more niche.
In my personal opinion, Nekopara has its own issues. I think some kind of hybrid could be nice though, where you could choose who you want to be with.

This is the only playthrough of this game that I've enjoyed watching, had me in stitches, especially realizing there was a consequence for going into debt (I bet hardly anyone has ever even seen that ending)

Pippa played a very shovelwareish safe lewd switch first "fanservice" game OH MAH GAH I agree this game is not very good, I understand it's not what you wanted it to go for (I will admit I also like the trope of the anime girls being lovey dovey towards the main player more than this) but aside from that it really is a very barebones and not quite fleshed out game, the minigames are not engaging and there's no real uniqueness to be had it feels, let alone what you feel about personalities and such since that's more of a personal preference but if you're gonna buy a game like this...there's so many better choices that has been made over the years I swear people just don't want to dig around and take whatever modern rec they can get, either to stream or to watch but I digress. OTSUCRINGE! Rune Factory is a pretty fun and SFW romance simulator.
It's a fantasy version of Harvest Moon, essentially, but the farming aspect is surprisingly optional.
I can't blame streamers for trying to play something a bit spicier; after all, there are few games that can offer something without using censorship screens, but this is so pathetic that it really feels unfinished and not worth $25. Still, it's better than YIIK.

You completely don't get the appeal. This is niche genre, you don't play it for the story.
I'm glad you called this game out. It feels like it got popular cause people were chasing the streamer popular game train.
So some idiot dev(me) thoughts.
1. Animations are the same because the characters all share the same rig. And they didn't bother to animate more than one animation set
2. The twister game plays out the same every time, because its an animation scene not so much an actual game. You just pause and have to "spin" to keep the animation going to the next set in it.
3. Characters really are lacking depth, I don't play this kind of game but totally agree.
4. The Phone gambling / gaming is probably done cause its cheaper to just make it a button you press than a place you go. All those things are extra animations. There's more probably but I didn't really see enough I was working on stuff while listening.
I'm curious how big their team is. If its a small team? I can understand more, but still feels like it lacks heart.
It's done by a small indie dev. They have multiple teams I think, but small teams. This is their first game that uses multiple 3D models, most of their games are visual novels or basic 2D side scrolling puzzle games. I personally prefer their previous game Maid Of The Dead (which was a Holocure/Vampire Hunters clone)...but I can't bring myself to be too harsh on them. Nintendo de-listed 2 of their games because of antis...they make games for justification of panty shots...so likely the demographic is teens/lonely guys. I just support them because at least they are catering to a niche audience and haven't bent the knee to the woke mob, having their games de-listed over censoring.
@@silicabeastmaster1175 Good info. I found the game was made in Unity. I still feel, they could have taken an extra day or two to make more animations that are dependent on the character more. Its something I've had to do, and even in Blender if you have the animations already made you can edit them with SOME relative ease just to be slightly different.
