This song is definitely a vibe! I was a freshman in HS when they came out with this song and in my mid 40’s now and still love it! I love watching younger people get into the music I grew up with and seeing it make a new generation fall in love with music and great bands again
My niece was born in 1990 and when this song came out and I would sing it when it came to the word smile she would put on the biggest grin and when she could talk she would ask me to play the “smile” song, now whenever I listen to this song I will shoot her a text telling her I am listening to it, then she goes and listens. That is just one of our bonds.
I just went through their songs and wow, what a great band. Unfortunately, I only remember To be with you. oh and they also did a cover of Wild World which sounds nice.
Honestly, this was one of them gems I slept on, not sure why. Lead vocals, the harmony, that beat, that guitar, this goes harder than I gave it credit for. 33 years later this song is still a banger, I'm just now hopping on the bandwagon. Great reaction by the way. Im now subscribed.
The harmonies on this joint are just spectacular. Anybody who has heard the term "this song sits in the pocket" & didn't know what that meant. This song is a PERFECT example of "sitting in the pocket".
A year late, but I couldn't even let your reaction play all the way through without backing up to experience your joy again! Dude, you give me hope. P.L.U.R.R. from Texas!
Eric Martin had one of the best voices back in the day . Other Mr.Big songs you need to check out are Anything For You , If That's What It Takes , Just Take My Heart , Ain't Seen Love Like That , Next Time Around & Undertow .
This is my fav song....in my top 5. No lie. I've never been on this channel and I'm glad you liked it! His/their voices NEEDS TO BE APPRECIATED! SO, TY, AND YES I WILL SUBSCRIBE!
This came out when I was a senior in high school & It got TONS of radio play. There were a string of “metal” and “metal-ish” type bands that put out rock ballads. Songs that were not like their usual stuff. This was Mr. Big’s offering. “Wild World”, which is mentioned in some of the other comments is a cover of Cat Stevens’ song.
My fave song from them is 'Green-tinted 60's Mind.' The band came to the island of Guam where I was born and raised, and the coordinators weren't expecting a big crowd 'cos they thought the band wasn't well known out here. But the teens on the island all knew them 'cos of MTV and though there was minimal advertising for the concert it still ended up being packed! Eric saw me singing along to 60's Mind - word for word - pointed at me and next thing I knew, the guards at the front of the stage gestured for me to come closer and they lifted me over the railing and onto the stage and I got to sing the rest of the song with Eric. I was awful, but I was too frickin' happy to care! 😁
Loved your reaction to these guys! Your facial expressions are awesome and make me smile real big. Hard to believe that this song was put out 30 years ago. It's still a kick ass song!! Love Eric Martin's voice!! Try their songs "Wild World" and "Shine".
This was at the end of the Apex of guitar rock. The ballad, especially the acoustic was a constant and almost a necessity. And actually it was more like almost 30 years ago. Lol.
You should listen to Damn Yankees “High Enough”. Supergroup with Paul Cartellon (Accept), Tommy Shaw(Styx), Ted Nugent, Jack Blades (Night Ranger). Very cool song!
i remember the summer between 5th and 6th grade in 1992 this song was popular and we were at a water park and there was this group of older teenagers singing along to this song when it came on. You see the older kids and think they're cool at the time but then you grow up and realize they were dorks.
Paul Gilbert is one of the best guitar players in the world... no lie. He is a guitar virtuouso of epic proportions....this song is a commercial one-hit-wonder. They are a hard rockin'..wicked musicianship band. This is an odd song for them...good, but not what they are known for or about at all. Check out , How Do You Do what You do ( is what I don't Believe) or Addicted to that Rush by them Then you'll understand what I mean. ✌😎
Ah I’ve loved this song since i was 7 (I’m 31 now), I’m SOOOO glad people are getting on to this song now. Loved your reaction, I smiled along with you ❤️
Another song in this vein was by Saigon Kick called “Love is on the Way”. It was the last of the metal/glam rock band ballads in the early 1990’s that was ushered out by Nirvana, Pearl Jam and the rest of the “Seattle sound” or “Grunge” bands that took over MTV.
This song came out when I was around 13 or 14. I also remember Extreme- Hole Hearted and More than Words. It was my intro to rock. A year later I was listening to U2, Duran Duran, Pearl Jam, RHCP, Nirvana, etc.
4 super talented guys... kind of not what you would expect for their overall talents. But they killed it on their " Lean into it " album. Great album cover as well.. 1st 2 albums were awesome actually. YOU SHOULD ALSO check out the band. TESLA
This singer reminds me SO much of the singer for Tesla that when I first heard this song way way back I thought it WAS Tesla... a band from the 80's you may want to check out... maybe modern-day cowboy or their cover of signs (a Dylan song)
Love this song and his voice, but if you want to hear a voice that will give you chills try reacting to Steelhart's song Never Let You Go. Amazingly beautiful. Great reaction to a great song!! You're Awesome!!🙂
Did you say 20 years... man its over 30 years. I was 14 when it came out... I feel old hahaha. Great song and Great reaction. I will find some other good ones for ya.
Omgeeee!!! You are fast becoming my FAVORITE reactor! Your face is EVERYTHING! Thank you so much for doing “my” music! You make my aging heart sooooo happy!!! ❤️❤️❤️ I would be so honored if you did Motley Crüe’s Home Sweet Home for me! Have you done any Bryan Adams? Maybe you did and I missed it, but he did some wonderful ones like Please Forgive me, Everything I Do I Do It For You, and Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman.
it was my first song i loved when i was 14-15 years old, now i'm 45 and omg i love this song like it was the first time, in my School lot of my friends (girls) loved Eric Martin smile hi hi :)
Thank you for entertaining us in 2020...your reactions are priceless. If I may suggest other hair bands Skid Row I remember you Poison: something to believe in Bon Jovi Dead or alive.
This song is definitely a vibe! I was a freshman in HS when they came out with this song and in my mid 40’s now and still love it! I love watching younger people get into the music I grew up with and seeing it make a new generation fall in love with music and great bands again

Eric is amazing. I've always loved his voice. One of rocks best vocalists for sure!!! 👍❤
My niece was born in 1990 and when this song came out and I would sing it when it came to the word smile she would put on the biggest grin and when she could talk she would ask me to play the “smile” song, now whenever I listen to this song I will shoot her a text telling her I am listening to it, then she goes and listens. Eric is a true soul singer. He always worked that into his music.
We had this music all around us
We were blessed to grow up on it
YES! They DO have heat. Soul. Heart. Grit. Funk. Groove. An a pinch of sweetness. A recipe for a hit.
Fantastic reaction from you.
Thank you for reacting to this one!.
Lead Singer's name is Eric Martin.
I just went through their songs and wow, what a great band. Unfortunately, I only remember To be with you. oh and they also did a cover of Wild World which sounds nice.

30 YEARS AGO! This song is THIRTY YEARS OLD MAN!!!!!!!
It was 30 years ago. That's what's even crazier. I love this song and your reaction was so great 👍
I adore this song!!! I play it ALL of the time!!❤
The harmonies on this joint are just spectacular. Anybody who has heard the term "this song sits in the pocket" & didn't know what that meant. This song is a PERFECT example of "sitting in the pocket".

Yup, during the 80s and arguably the early 90s everyone had to have that power ballad--so much so it was damn near formulaic.
Another big hit from them was "Just Take My Heart"
My fave song from them is 'Green-tinted 60's Mind.'
The band came to the island of Guam where I was born and raised, and the coordinators weren't expecting a big crowd 'cos they thought the band wasn't well known out here.
But the teens on the island all knew them 'cos of MTV and though there was minimal advertising for the concert it still ended up being packed!

The reaction when he whispers that vocal in
Loved your reaction to these guys! Your facial expressions are awesome and make me smile real big. Hard to believe that this song was put out 30 years ago. It's still a kick ass song!! Love Eric Martin's voice!!
Try their songs "Wild World" and "Shine".
I play this song all the time because it is fun and the video makes me laugh....and my husband hates it 😂
Omg you MUST check out their song Addicted to that Rush ..it's insanely good! Mr Big is criminally underrated
I love that grin and giggle you get when you like something. 😂 This song does slap ! 💕
This was at the end of the Apex of guitar rock. The ballad, especially the acoustic was a constant and almost a necessity. And actually it was more like almost 30 years ago. Lol.
Just take my heart, nothing but love
Music in it's simplest form. Guys and a few guitars. Wonderful.
Addicted to that rush. Best song they have.
You should listen to Damn Yankees “High Enough”. Supergroup with Paul Cartellon (Accept), Tommy Shaw(Styx), Ted Nugent, Jack Blades (Night Ranger). Very cool song!
Yes.
OMG. I use to love Damn Yankees. Have not thought about them for years....
I love that song! Such a great ballad and not enough people reacting to it
@@NikkieTwix, not enough people listening to it period. Great song!
Damn Yankees are Tommy , Jack, Ted And Michael Cartellone
Thirty years ago - blows my mind...
Eric Martin smile lights up everyone day 🤣

I'd just like to say after watching you from Australia many times, you are an extraordinary young man. For many reasons. Keep it up.
This is my all time favorite so your reaction made my heart feel good. Thank you so much.
Tv Tropes calls this group "a supremely gifted collective of musicians." One of them has passed away in the 30 years since this video was made.
I LOVE your reaction. I’m listening to
all this songs reactions right now. It gives me goosebumps. What a voice and the harmony 🔥
Listen to Mr Big "just take my heart"
Paul Gilbert is one of the best guitar players in the world... no lie.
He is a guitar virtuouso of epic proportions....this song is a commercial one-hit-wonder. They are a hard rockin'..wicked musicianship band. This is an odd song for them...good, but not what they are known for or about at all.

I really like Going where the wind blows, Shine and Just take my heart! o/
this is a perfect rock ballad.
Another song in this vein was by Saigon Kick called “Love is on the Way”. It was the last of the metal/glam rock band ballads in the early 1990’s that was ushered out by Nirvana, Pearl Jam and the rest of the “Seattle sound” or “Grunge” bands that took over MTV.

maybe modern-day cowboy or their cover of signs (a Dylan song)
“Signs” was written by Les Emmerson of Five Man Electrical Band. I’ve never hear Dylan do it.
Love this song and his voice, but if you want to hear a voice that will give you chills try reacting to Steelhart's song Never Let You Go. Amazingly beautiful. Great reaction to a great song!! You're Awesome!!🙂
I love Steekhearts song Never let you go! So beautuful, singer voice is unbelievable! 💜
Mr Big - Wild World (Cat Stevens remake)
