    Ty, watching this has allowed me to replace the thermal paste on my 1080ti. It was in desperate need of a clean and paste. This should improve thermals!

    Came here to do the exact same thing, since my card was idling at ~60 C, with it constantly hitting 93C and throttling itself. Now it maxes out at about 80-82C and idles near 40C again after I applied some dollar store thermal paste lol. Dope card, hopefully it lasts a few more years since I'm planning on gifting it to my father. Thanks for the video!

    Came here to compare the temps that I got after I cleaned and repasted my old 1080 Turbo this morning. I got pretty much the same number, so thanks for your video.

    replaced the thermal paste on my ASUS GTX 1070 Turbo, and did stress testing using FurMark in full-screen mode for about 2 minutes max TEMP 76C

      Friend, are you satisfied with this card? I'm thinking about getting it, but a lot of people say it gets too hot and causes bottlenecks in games

    Thank you. I did try to unplug the fan but found the switch too delicate and did not want to risk it. Did everything else though.

    hey guys, question. i have the same card and did the same test, I maxed temp at 86C. should I be looking at redoing my thermal paste as well?

    I have similar card. Yesterday I builded new thermal pads and placed new GD900 on the GPU. I noticed there's two possibly really hot fets beside the 3 memory chips between resistor row and memory chips. Im quite sure those need to be cooled also, so I added thermal pads on those too. Im not sure why those were not cooled in orginal revision. Anyway, it will add 2-3 Celsius to make those cool, Ok. I had temps like 70 Celsius while mingin before the task and temps went down over 10 Celsius with GD900.

    I mean, shouldn't you spread it all evenly?

    • @esuil
      @esuil 2 года назад +1

      I know this one is old, but for anyone wondering the same - as long as you apply right amount, it will spread out evenly by itself when you squish it between GPU and cooler plate. If you try to spread it out evenly by yourself, you will likely just apply too much and once you squish it it will simply spread outside the GPU sides, wasting the thermal paste and creating a mess around GPU.
