I am SO loving your blasts from the past ! The Sheik terrified me when I was a kid ! lol Looking back , Detroit Big Time Wrestling was one of the most exciting territories that ever existed!
Great to have you two historians keeping alive the momories of Big Time Wrestling. Now in my 60s, I still remember going with my late father to see the Sheik. It's a shame that there are no Cobo Hall tapes of the era. Cobo was the midwest mecca of pro wrestling. Thanks for all you give us former fans.
Killer Brooks, aka "Crazy Brooks" vs Tex Mackenzie in a Texas Chain Match. As kids we went to many matches only because one of my friends dad was connected to the owner of Torio's Health Club here in Toledo. We would get ring side seats for free. The hardest part was getting one of our parents to drop us off and then pick us up at the Toledo Sports Arena after the show. It was touted that Killer Books had a surgically embedded steel bar in his arm, and used that arm as a weapon against opponents.
Thanks Dave for putting over Ernie Roth aka The Grand Wizard/Abdullah Farouk. He should have been inducted in Dave Meltzer's "Observer Hall of Fame" back in 1996 when his HOF began.
The decades gave Terry's voice a nice little rasp. He sounds a lot better than he did as a young announcer, so I imagine he can still get voiceover/radio work if he wants it.
I rank Creachman as the #3 manager of all-time surpassed only by Heenan and Cornette. I saw him working in Indianapolis getting too much heat. Fans were diving over the barricades and fighting with security to get at him.
Farook aka The Wizard. Best interview of all time.😊

That was the best 'interview'. Eddie creachman was too 'nervous' to calm down
Thank you for the memories ❤
