    A cheap idea for Christmas presents. I have three brothers in law that all like cast iron. I searched for the BSR 8 wedge corn bread pan. I could find them uncleaned for $20ish. I restored them and includer the history of the pan in the package. This made them considerably more valuable yet I spent $20ish. We all know Christmas isn't a competition but we won! lol They were appreciative and you can't find one just anywhere.
    Smooth cast iron makes great gifts. It doesn't need to be extremely old just smooth. One of the estate sale guys that I restore for has a son that needed a gift for his girlfriend's mother. Jeff handed him an early 3 notch Lodge that I had restored. At first he didn't think so being in his early 20s but he gave it to her. She loved it but you can't get one at Walmart. You almost have to be connected with someone.

    My favorite is the E Bread Stick Wagner Ware cast iron. It does not have the image of the corn stick imprint, but is just plain bottom of the cast iron.

    I just found a 7 stick corn bread pan with the BSR handles and 27S 26 on the bottom of the center stick. Also one of the end sticks has a thinner wall on the tip then the other end has. It's in very good shape. Is this truly a BSR? Any info on this pan would be appreciated.... Thank you for your time and your words from God.

    I have a 6 stick pan with the standard BSR handles. The sticks look like (pg version) one scoop ice cream cones with sprinkles on top. They alternate left right. No need to level. There are no markings on it. The iron is good smooth quality. I’m reasonably sure it has to be BSR. Spotted D might be a good way to describe it.

    • @castIroncookware

      Lodge made a California Acorn pan that is highly collectible and also highly controversial because of the shape. I've seen them sale from $300 to $500 each.

    • @highball818

      I didn’t know any other makers used a BSR type handle. I could see it if they copied the entire pan. Do you know of others?

    • @castIroncookware
      @castIroncookware  3 года назад

      @@highball818 You will see some other similarities with Lodge because they now own most of the old BSR patents due to the settlement with Lodge when BSR when out of business.

      The 7S is the most common corn stick Pan in the Birmingham stove and range lineup. The 7 is to designate the amount of sticks in the peace and the S is probably just a mold mark. It can quite possibly stand for 7 Stick.

    Steve, I have a question, on many of your videos you refer to “hand scribed”. Do they hand scribe the original pattern? Or the cast piece itself? It cannot be the sand mold is hand scribed, that would make the final casting have raised letters, thanks for any info you can share. Yours truly, cast iron collector competition
