Men don't look at polygamy the way it was looked at in the final Prophets time which is why so many problems arise today. Back in the day polygamy was to actually provide/protect and help women who had no mahram, had no source of financial aid, were widowed, divorced, ie. Nowadays men are into polygamy for the wrong reasons. Now i will mute this post, bc the only replies im gonna get are the opinions from egotistical men who claim my opinion is "irrelevant" but take there sweet time to write me an essay, mansplaining or god knows what. :)

i agree most men nowadays play around with polygamy. but most women nowadays their main problem is not equal treatment or whether her husband will love her same as before, their main problem is that they dont like him to be with another woman and they dont like him to be intimate with another woman

      Not true.
Men were attracted to several women in the past and married them.
      It was not merely "necessity."
But, you want to invalidate the rights that Allah ta'ala gave men, because you don't accept the Qur'an and Sunnah.

Prophet wanted to put a stop to all cruelties to women. He preached kindness towards them. He told the Muslims: "Fear Allah in respect of women." And: "The best of you are they who behave best to their wives." And: "A Muslim must not hate his wife, and if he be displeased with one bad quality in her, let him be pleased with one that is good." And:"The more civil and kind a Muslim is to his wife, the more perfect in faith he is."

In it he ordered those present, and through them all those Muslims who were to come later, to be respectful and kind towards women. He said:

Polygamy is not an obligation on men nor is it an obligation for women to accept it
The men wanting polygamy think it’s all about sexual pleasure but forget the sunnah is to marry widows and single mums to support them
How many men bring up the topic of polygamy by saying oh there’s a widow down the road and I want to support her so thinking of taking a second wife .. compared to the amount of men that think oh I just wanna sleep with another woman so I’ll look into getting another young wife

Polygamy is in islam and every Muslim must acknowledge that even if they don't wanna practice it. The problem is that marriage itself is very hard. Taking care of one family is quite hard. When some irresponsible and reckless men get second wife, they mess up badly. People who have experienced this first hand knows how bad it gets over time. Wives fight, children fights and everything becomes competitive instead of harmony. One of the wives get neglected and then began to hate and detest the husband, then the children from the neglected wives starts hating and feeling disrespectful towards the father. In my father's family only one of his uncle got two wives. The second was young and beautiful so he started to favor her then over time completely neglected the first wife and also the son from the first marriage. That never got better. My dad's that cousin grew up pretty neglected and had no good feelings for the father, for a pretty good reason obviously.
So yeah, people who think polygamy is a piece of cake, they are stupid. You gotta be a real man to be in polygamy.

Now it is clear that the command polygamy by marrying widows with orphans listed in Ayaah 4/3 is not addressed to any particular man, but a rich man to avoid arrogance and injustice prevailing in society. So about marriage among adolescents as generally described in Ayaah 24/33. Both the sacred verse, well that is once again cited for a material analysis and comparison:

will marry youof women (who have orphans) two and three

Prophet wanted to put a stop to all cruelties to women. He preached kindness towards them. He told the Muslims: "Fear Allah in respect of women." And: "The best of you are they who behave best to their wives." And: "A Muslim must not hate his wife, and if he be displeased with one bad quality in her, let him be pleased with one that is good." And:"The more civil and kind a Muslim is to his wife, the more perfect in faith he is."
The Prophet (peace be upon him) was most emphatic in enjoining upon Muslims to be kind to their women when he delivered his famous khutba on the Mount of Mercy at Arafat in the presence of one hundred and twenty-four thousand of his Companions who had gathered there for the Hajj al-Wada (Farewell Pilgrimage). In it he ordered those present, and through them all those Muslims who were to come later, to be respectful and kind towards women. He said:
"Fear Allah regarding women. Verily you have married them with the trust of Allah, and made their bodies lawful with the word of Allah. You have got (rights) over them, and they have got (rights) over you in respect of their food and clothing according to your means."
In Islam a woman is a completely independent personality. She can make any contract or bequest in her own name. She is entitled to inherit in her position as mother, as wife, as sister and as daughter. She has perfect liberty to choose her husband. The pagan society of pre-Islamic Arabia had an irrational prejudice against their female children whom they used to bury alive. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was totally opposed to this practice. He showed them that supporting their female
Islam raised the status of women, and made them equal with men in most rulings. So women, like men, are commanded to believe in Allah and to worship Him. And women are made equal to men in terms of reward in the Hereafter. Women have the right to express themselves, to give sincere advice, to enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil, and to call people to Allah. Women have the right to own property, to buy and sell, to inherit, to give charity and to give gifts. It is not permissible for anyone to take a woman’s wealth without her consent. For more about the rights of women in Islam, see the detailed answer.Islam showed full respect to the women and ensured rights, dignity and honour and equal status of men and women in case of marriage because for being a valid marriage acquiescence of the bride groom as well as bride is mandatory. In this regard no one is superior. The Quran explicitly states that men and women are equal in the eyes of God. Furthermore, the Quran: forbids female infanticide (practiced in pre-Islamic Arabia and other parts of the world) instructs Muslims to educate daughters as well as sons.
Allah said "And seek by means of what Allah has given you the future abode, and do not neglect your portion of this world, and do good (to others) as Allah has done good to you, and do not seek to make mischief in the land, surely Allah does not love the mischief-makers. Quran 28:77

I am concerned, that the Sheikh didn’t fully express the betrayal of the husband.
If he wants to marry another wife …, the wife cannot stop him.
But in fairness, he should have informed his wife and given her the choice.
Other than this, it is a very informative video.
There are more rules for polygamy is Islam … than there are any other faith or western group.
In the west polygamy is having a resurgence, the most mindful write contracts.
But there is nothing stronger than the Quran … the warning is there for those that heed.
I liked that the sheikh mentioned another wife for necessity …
As a couples therapist, I can only say that sustaining a marriage takes effort and good intentions.

You will never be able to maintain ˹emotional˺ justice between your wives-no matter how keen you are. So do not totally incline towards one leaving the other in suspense.1 And if you do what is right and are mindful ˹of Allah˺, surely Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
Don't cut it in half. It is misleading. Secondly,
Ibrahim (A.S), Ishaq (A.S), Musa (A.S), Daud (A.S), Suleiman (A.S), Muhammad ﷺ all practiced it. Hating what Allah has made permissible is like a man saying he doesn't wanna give money as mehr, but something free. It's not him that decides it's the woman who decides as it's her right, the same way he has his rights that Allah gave him as well.

I really like this sheikh but some of his videos are really problematic. What does he mean by "real man" here? It is perfectly normal for a woman to not be able to bear staying in a polygamy. In this case the man should of course use his judgement and divorce considering all the pros and cons. Prioritizing your 4 kids is clearly better than going for the 2nd wife. In fact, this is what a real man would do. If anything, it is extremely ungrateful to leave the 1st one just because she is extremely hurt and cannot bear it. Unless the sheikh is trying to blame the woman for it and thinks she deserves getting divorced, considering how the word used here is "threat", not that "it is impossible for her to stay".
Not to mention there's also the toxic idea that a man should not listen to anyone, should always stick to his decision without considering others or even his own feelings.

And in terms of social harmony is Ayaah 4/3 contains a function that:
    a. Orphans can be helped by making him a stepfather who will bear the expense and educating him or at least will lead as the head of the family in the household.
    b. widow can be married by a rich man to help alleviate the economic hardship and distress. If this is not resolved, will comes poverty and destitution suffered perhaps even she rebelled to get her needs, there was fraud, prostitution, fighting over the love of gentle persuasion, social disorder, and other complex issues resolved.
    c. Wife, who have a polygamous husband, if her husband did not heed it, then such an attitude means not obey the law of ALLAH, allowing chaos in the general social, selfish, ignores the widow with orphans suffer, and otherwise damage the harmony of her own household.
Of all the reasons and circumstances on this can be seen that polygamy in Islam is a social element, not only based on the man advantage, or just to help the widow with orphans, but also for the stability of community life in all areas.
A husband and his family had to mix properly, while in the act and said let the right implies. He must educate the children to obey the law of ALLAH revealed, planning for the future for their children including those who run the law of ALLAH as a human useful in society to live in a world of luck now and in the Hereafter later. The provision contained in the Qur’anic verse.
Similarly, the polygamy that he must be good at allocating their time and gift shop associate at the wives and children are not fair to cause unrest and displeasure at the side. He also had to educate the orphans who are in custody until at a certain time that the child had been able to fend for themselves. When he had to give her property, if he was stupid, so save him until ALLAH opens another chance. For all that let people pay attention,

The husband could not really do justice among his wife of more than one, especially in the inner relationship, therefore polygamy is obvious imprimatur for men not to marry several women who preferred because beautiful and a virgin.

Here is what I think. Most muslim men want to marry more than 1 woman because they are not satisfied with one, being polygamous was men's nature biologically and women's nature was aligned with hypergamy. I am not saying the first wife will ever really accept having another sister wife.
My 1 problem with women giving the example of prophet saw being married to hazrat khadija who was much older than him so logically no one can argue they were marrying for reasons common men marry for(They typically want virgins even if they are not) and our prophet did not marry another wife while Bibi Khadija RA was alive. Now muslim women put this argument which is actually a valid argument that our prophet was not eager to marry other wives and when he did except one all other were widow or divorced so why don't muslim men go after those women to marry again most men who say I want to complete sunnat of marrying 4 wives just for the sake of completing sunnat they are lying. It is our lust most of the time which isn't be completed by one woman but question is so what Allah gave them permission to do so to complete their desires the halal way on the condition that they provide everything equally(which most men can't so until you think you can provide all basic necessities for more than 1 wife don't delude yourself your life will be sunshine and rainbows).
Now women say one should follow sunnat to the letter then there comes a counter argument which no women wants to bring up that why don't you follow Bibi khadija RA, every women would say i need a man to match my lifestyle that i was given at home(nothing wrong with that, that is your will) but she gave up all her money to our prophet which then was given to charity and they lived in simplicity with them.
See what I am pointing out here is if women can be selfish in their needs why can't men be if it is permissible. Men: Don't delude yourself that you can justly provide everything equally to all your wives(and trust me on this point Allah will not be lenient). Women: Don't berate men if they want more wives if you don't want to be a cowive that is your will don't be.
I don't really comment alot but I am seeing these miniscule topic of muslim ummah are so highlighted that we are forgetting our real problems that we need to strive for. To me all the men choose a mission in life(which in turn benefits ummah and the best way is to become filthy rich because only the you have influence to move any pieces on a global level) and as for women I don't like to give them advice I am not a women do what Allah ordained and just as I said Allah will not be lenient if men don't equally provide for their wives, as for women he is not lenient when you don't complete your responsibilities to your husband and sorry if this hurts you but every abrahmic religion is patriarchal nature including Islam so if feminism has got to you look at the state of women in most feminist country, research a little bit about their state and you will know on face values feminism looks good but is a evil doctrine.
Sorry if I wrote something wrong here I am not a muslim scholar I am just sharing what little knowledge I have and my common sense.

This is such and non-issue, look polygamy is a right given by Allah to men, he says in surah an-Nisa that men can marry in 2,3or4 but IF HE CANT DO JUSTICE ONLY ONE. that means that if u can be just then go and marry another women IF YOU WANT, if u dont want its fine and if you want no one can ever stop you. If ur first wife wants to leave, let her because you are in the right of following what Allah says. No women has a say on men's polygamy and if a man is not just Allah will deal with him.

Why are none of these sheikhs concerned about the fact that the man LIES to his wife, gaslights her, and lives a double-life for years sometimes! You won’t do that to your parents, and you surely should be ashamed of doing that to the woman who has sacrificed her time, effort and her body, everyday, for you, your family and your children.
“But it is the mans right to marry again”.
He has no right to lie like that, in most cases let his family collectively in on the lie as well, and later go around and complain about his first or second wife finding out he is a weak idiot who can’t stand up as a true mature husband and be truthful.
Let’s face it - he only takes the second wife for his sexual pleasures. Yet his first wife is so loyal to him, that she won’t ask for a divorce when he is not satisfying HER, even though that is also her right.
Would you treat your mother like that? Would you teach your sons to also lie and only think of their own needs? These women are the true family leaders, since they don’t gamble with the wellbeing of the whole family like that.
In my nikah conditions, I didn’t allow polygami in my marriage. All the muslim women who couldn’t bear living under polygami, should make sure they make it as a condition in their nikah beforehand. Educate your sisters and daughters about the rights that Allah has given us. You can give your husband-to -be a set of conditions, that if he breaks them you get to do a divorce without him being the one who makes the decision. None of my muslim friends or family members used this right they have from Allah, to give their conditions, and most og them didn’t even know they had this right! Because our sheiks, fathers and brothers are more concerned about their rights.
The sheikhs won’t remind you when your’re about to marry. But they do advice men on what to do with their problems with the first wife.
    *sighs*

Circumstances When a Man can marry another wife. Brother the thing is the women is insecure Here because she thinks she is not equal to you. Shes not your friend maybe you just treat her as a maid and give her salary by providing her food and clothing. Akhi you dont love her you realise that. If you do this bro Fear Allah what are you doing?
Many men come up with the reasons...oh no Sister she cant give me a baby.
Bro which century do you live in? Theres test tube babies, there Damm Adoption....you cant even adopt a kid or wide-spread the Population??
Your not even a good husband, not a good servant of Allah and not even a good citizen.
So tell me brother, you wanna go get her a Gyno and solve the problem withing 18 months and have a medium budget expenses for those 18 months or marry a second wife and pay for her your entire life?
Which one sounds better to you.
Polygamy was more like adoption. You take care of widow women, women with no caretaker, men were loving and responsible then but now....as Sheikh said: men now marry for personal gain. Although its their loss somewhere if you think that the man is the gaurdian of the wives.
And if hes not man enough to love his first wife, if he treats her like a choice or option....what makes him confident the next wife will trust him. Your supposed to love and support each other, your companions not bloody competitors. And if you think this is not working, get a divorce.
Its that simple. Follow the Quran strictly and all your troubles will vanish regarding WHATEVER you have and want.
And secondly if a man didn't love his wife properly....bro dont you people have feelings like how can you immediately find a women just after your marriage. So basically you didn't love her and if you dont EVEN LOVE...... whats the purpose of all this drama?
