Don''t think it needs to be a medal sport, but it sure would be nice to see more people doing it on the hill. So much fun!

Loved Ski Ballet, even learnt a few simple tricks myself.
    Definitely time for a comeback.

You can make your own ballet poles by taking two sets of poles cutting them so when mixed together they are longer and inserting copper pipe inside the two halves, which flexes Vs breaks. We used to make these all the time for other ballet skiers. Very strong. Let’s see more ballet instruction maybe even some clinics ? A lot of kids want to do this again and are excited about it but can’t find instruction. Except let’s hear some variety in the music.
good classic rock or something instead of some of the horrible music choices of the 80s. Some of it was good but some was horrible.
When we did it locally it was to ozzy, doors , zeppelin, Van Halen, David bowie, some good 80s bands but not the lame stuff we see and hear in the videos of the competitions from the 80s. My opinion is that it was the cheesiness that killed it off. Take one of those ballet ski videos from the 80s (with instrumentals ) and throw some sabbath over it and it’s a different experience I promise. Ballet skiing needed a little bad azz injected into it to stay alive. Contrary to popular belief, It’s a tough sport and the people who did it were strong and dedicated . It was also a lot of fun with great camaraderie!

    Do they use special poles?

Yes, they are longer and reinforced to hold the weight of the skier using them for flips.

@@muchgreatness7497 thank you! Do they also use special skis? They look shorter than the average ski you would see at a resort. And i would have guessed they use twin tip skis but they don't look like that here.
