- Victor Wembanyama is not going to come into the league and immediately start averaging 25. He is not as polished as LeBron James was coming out of high school, but you give Wemby some time and he's going to be dangerous.

I’m with Brendan. It makes ZERO sense what Houston is doing right now. You have KPJ & J Green who you were supposedly building around. Then you sign FVV & Brooks and draft Amen to take their spot without actually moving on from them. They don’t even fit together. It’s just a really head scratching situation on paper
The Rockets realized that KPJ is not the player they’re building around.. he might not stay on the team another year. He’ll be the 6th man or be traded eventually
Right, I'm CONfused as the Organization is....lol
@@OthoWilliamsJr Houston needed to get vets to push Ime Udoka's vision and train the young players they are keeping. Some of the young talent will be moved. I think they more so want to be build around Jabari than Jalen Green. Amen Thompson is versatile so he is a keeper. Also they big man Segun. Everybody else to me is on the bubble and may not be with the team in 3 years. The vets were signed to short contracts right before the new tv deal that will make these contract be easily movable in the future should the young players get better quicker.
Amen is jalen green wit a better iq
There is no way to say. Jordan wasn’t even a first pick! Lebron was one of the first to live up to that hype level. That’s what’s amazing about LB. It would crush a mere mortal.
Bron came in with NO NBA OR COLLEGE LEVEL COACHING (outside of camps)
Everybody's path to greatness is different. You can't make statements like this before the guy has had a chance to play with the best of the best in the league. The guy could be a giant flop, or he could be a player for the record books. Big point is that the only we are going to know how good this kid is, is when we see him have a chance to play for a little bit. I'm personally 50-50 on this guy, but I could see him going either way at this time. Not to mention he could go down the same road as Odom and suffer bad injuries.
*Greg Oden
Great basketball 🏀 talk we do need more yes sir no sir not just men but ppl everybody want to be cocky till they get bossed/served up ☀️
I think he was referring to rookie year regular season. I don’t think Kobe averaged 25 his rookie season, he didn’t get the opportunity.
Love the podcast and not the studio!
I give him 5. I'm giving him as much time as embiid
Embiid was hurt 2 season so it was 3😂😂😂
@@cwhitt8110aye ppl that tall are injury prone especially the way wemby get busy he might need a year or 2 off within 5 years
@@cwhitt8110Exactly. He’s accounting for potential injuries Wemby could have. Knocking on wood he doesn’t get any tho. 🙏🏽
I think he's going to need to bulk up like Giannis. KD is super skinny too but he's injury prone. I hope he bulks up like Giannis did and just terrorizes people.
Also, I'm glad they said it should take a few years. Giannis came in looking anemic lol and it took him a few years to build an NBA body and to get comfortable in the league. Let's give the kid some time to develop and then judge him. I know it's hard to do with the number 1 overall.
Kd isn’t injury prone
@@rinowatson uh what?!
Durant's injury history has become a bit concerning in recent years. He hasn't played more than 55 games in a regular season since his Achilles injury and the end of the 2018-19 season and missed at least 20 consecutive games in each of the past three years due to various injuries: 23 games in 2021 with a hamstring injury, 21 games with a sprained left MCL and 20 games this season with the right knee injury.
If that's not injury prone I'm not sure what is.
@kbob9625 isn't KD 34. Is that the age players get hurt. Steph curry got hurt last year too.
@@Vichinsky-ox8px which wouldn't change what I said at all but yes as you age your body is more likely to become injured. Except this has been going on since 2020...
@kbob9625 He tore his Achilles in 2019. Of course he is going to get hurt more as he ages after that. LeBron has missed 25 games the last two years.
Donovan Mitchell balled in SL now I dont believe he is a superstar but he is a star!
Hes definitely a superstar. He’s one of the most reliable playoff performers currently. These last two seasons have been disappointing but it’s Been reasons for it. They just need to figure out if it’s gone be Donovan’s team or Darius
Rockets in 2-3 years going to be a fun team to watch
Nah they're already gonna be entertaining this season, 2-3 yrs from now they might be a top 5 team in the west
@@LoopRoadRecordsI agree they're already fun to watch with KPJ & Jalen & I like Sengun too he's underrated
Hopefully they keep them together
@@antdouglourfacts they still young too they haven’t hit they prime yet💯
They need a real point guard VanFleet is a scorer. It's not gonna be enough shots
Jabari gone use that for fuel
I have no faith in the rockets they looking like Wiggins Lavigne and towns just a matter of time before trades
True. Pacers and thunder are best upcoming teams
Well said. Summer League is overhyped
Is the drew league overhyped if u keep up with tht
its kinda weird seeing brendan haywood without those headbands on his head LMAO 🤣this big guy always has those headbands like he got em since he was on 2nd grade!🤣
So y’all forgot about bol bol 🤔
Vic already has skills LeBron will never have.
Sorry but wemby trainer said they not focused on putting on weight
No one is expecting him to get heavy. But he will eventually grow into his frame as men do.
@@Anarchy96he is essentially grown into his frame. His frame is small that’s why he’s small lol.
Remember Kobe’s first two seasons. He wasn’t on Van Exel or Eddie Jones’ level.
Brendan was an underrated center in his era
No he wasn't
@@andrem.thomas332 I swear lmao what be wrong with people man.
@@andrem.thomas332lmao he definitely wasn't underrated but a pretty solid backup & he's wayyyyy better as an analyst than he was as a player he's actually great as an analyst imo
I wanna thumbs down this 12 times
@@meezysquad lol yeah i think his clear talent skill as an analyst might be throwing ppls memories off a little bit
Wemby is not lbj wemby is wemby
I wouldn't want to be even compared to Leabron if i was a player
Why?
The second and third reporter asked horrible questions, I don’t think it’s difficult to assume you wouldn’t get much from Erik in terms of a response.
They need to get off the guys nuts. They ride it so hard. They are talking about playing against professionals. These European superstars have been playing against professionals for years at the point they come into the NBA. Look at Luka. From day one he has been destroying stuff. And honsetly. He has beyond what LBJ did early in his career. In a tougher conference than young LBJ was playing in. Wimby is going to be a monster as long as he stays healthy.
He played in the French league far different then luka...his league was weak and he struggled summer league against jv players who won't even make the team
Whose nuts are they riding too hard, Victor or Lebron? It sounds like you're talking about Victor and being annoyed about them criticizing him, but riding his nuts would be complimenting him too much, not criticizing him.
@@EGarrett01 talking about riding lebron's. Cause nobody can have the effect that he has from day one. Despite these teenagers already being professionals.
Appreciate the young man within his God given skill set and compliments then praise the creator and not the creation. These athletic groupies need counseling.
He doesn't need to bulk that'll most likely mess up his game once he's comfortable and knows where to get his shots from he will be ok in the league
dude ofc he needs to bulk.. he doesn’t need to turn into giannis and add 50 pounds but he definitely needs to eventually grow into his man body and add at least 25+ pounds within the next 3-5 years. its the nba you need to progressively get stronger. kd did it bron did it steph did it, it just looks different for everyone
You gon rethink this when you see embid back him down for the first time
@kamsabit6520 I agree with your statement, but that's what I meant by he doesn't need to bulk up cause I had Giannis in mind ppl seem to think he needs to grow that big to be successful, Giannis could actually shoot when he was slimer all that muscle gain messed up his form but he's a beast downhill now
@@kam_12_he doesn’t have the frame of a bulky person and he’s already 240 ish at 7’4. He can get stronger yes but he doesn’t need to bulk
@@pandabear1576yes he does. He needs the musculature to support his joints and the physicality of the game.
Hes gonna est his words...wemby is gonna fomn ate this league from the start
..hes just in a different class
Luka Donic and Ja Morant...
lmao how do u know who he is or who he isnt yet lmao that funny to me
1:29 - 1:50... 👀 Kobe averaged 25 points and 5.3 rebounds over four games at only 17 years old in summer camp. Essentially his same career numbers. Incredibly impressive for a 17 year old.
One of his summer games included a 36-point explosion, in a 107-100 win over the Phoenix Suns which included from him- A behind-the-back pass to a trailing teammate. A hand in the air at the outset of a possession to call for the ball from fellow rookie Derek Fisher, to command the offense + A two-handed putback dunk through a crowd of three defenders. 🥴
He was acrobatic at an elite level already throughout the camp. So frankly, your definition of 'Ballin' makes zero sense to me.
Oh God now we got Kobe worshippers citing his summer league performance. This Kobe dick riding has got to end, PLEASE
He says it take time. It took Kobe 3 years to develop
@@yannickscott2234 It took Del Harris three years to get fired, rather.
The Lakers were a stacked team that won 48 wins in the 1995-96 season -- a 15-win jump from the prior year that saw them land in the lottery.
Harris had an affinity for Eddie Jones and Van Exel, and didn't appreciate that (Kobe) such a young player was already getting worldwide praise and fully capable of taking their spots. It was taboo to have a young player starting out of the gate back then by the old school of thought. However, Kobe was polished and ready from day 1 to go head to head against (*essentially) any player in the league.
Old school coaches like Harris weren't about to let him play considerable minutes without waiting his turn, regardless of his talent being worth a starter spot immediately upon entering the league. Which costed Bryant several years and thousands of points/accolades that he was unable to add to his resume'.
The acquisition of Bryant (not playing him more) and Phil Jackson led to Harris being fired. Harris himself - "The next year, he was 19, and he worked hard and he developed his body more. He had an 18-year-old body, but the next year he had put on about 10, 15 pounds and muscle. And he became the runner-up Sixth Man of the Year in the league. And he was our third-leading scorer and came off the bench. He averaged 15 a game and thereafter, I only had him 12 games the next year. And in those 12 games (before Harris was fired), he averaged 20 points and (about) 10 rebounds".
Harris constantly berated Kobe on his over-dribbling and his shot selection. Which proved futile for Harris. Kobe- “He doesn’t know who I am as a player. He’s trying to hold me down/ he doesn’t want me to be the player I know I can be.” I respect Del Harris' career as a coach, and don't harbor any disdain towards him. But he was simply wrong about his approach to Kobe. Kobe was ready from day 1.
Kobe- 5x NBA Champion
Harris- 0
Kobe came to a team surrounded by vets and was not really expected to be the man. He was definitely #2 with. Shaq...Wemby is expected to shift San Antonio
@@SincereSentinel Playing more in those first three years, he would have hit his prime earlier with Shaq… imagine what could have been
Better than lebrick
Wemby is a liability in a fast paced, up and down game.
How ?
Huh? One of his best attributes is his ability to run the floor and punish slow bigs who can’t keep up. He’s a straight up 7’4” small forward
@@BillVanHoutenWho are these slow bigs you speak of? 😂
@@ocampbell1954 all but the very quickest bigs to tell you the truth, he really can’t be guarded by a traditional 5. To name some names, Sabonis, valenciunas, adams, jokic, and sengun are all 5’s that will not be able to stick to him, and that’s just drawing from the western conference. He’ll be able to run many off the floor with his incredible agility, and I think we’ll see him most often matched up with a 3 or 4, as he was in summer league. From what I hear the spurs plan to start Zach Collins next to him, so he’ll be playing the 4 anyway.
@@BillVanHouten And he can't guard them in the post.
