This was an EXCELLENT! Very well done on your part GiV Mike. I was in NYC on August 7th, 1974 when Philippe Petit highwired the 138 feet between the two towers of the original World Trade Towers. He was arrested afterward. All charges and fines were dropped when Petit agreed to do a high-wire performance for children.

The amount of wasted resources for these buildings is another great example of where tax money is wasted.
All the cops sitting there all day is a huge waste.
What should the city do with them?
The future of the towers and the potential for "expense recovery" ($6.5 million) largely depends on the outcome of the "sale" and the plans of the new developer.
Is the city billing the owners for the extra costs or is it basically welfare?
@@derekforde7164 The owners are gone. They were a subsidy of Evergreen, which has collapsed. LA has taken over as conservatorship of the buildings. LA is stuck with them now.

That is the most disgusting waste of public money I have ever seen. Spending one million dollars on a 12 foot high fence to keep out people who know how to climb up skyscrapers🤦♂ Did they really think people would not work out how to climb over such mere doorsteps?

Stopping this is actually quite easy, if convicted of trespassing, convicted of graffiti, mandatory five years in a state prison, illegal to drive in California for five years, notwithstanding what other state driver license you obtain. No state licensing of ... for ten years, ie. a real estate license, business license, tattoo license or ... mandatory garnishment of monies earned like it is for child care and most importantly, the cost of all this management to enforce compliance be charged to the convicted. See folks, if this were to happen, then all who are convicted of such crimes will go away with nearly all moving out of California to do what they do in another state, destroy property of others. Something tells me other states aren't friendly to graffiti artist as much as California is! A second conviction seven years and a third ten years! 😮
I think YT is over reacting on this one...I can understand they don't want the platform to become the source for promoting this type of action(yet it is still online) but they(slack liners) also publish else where so in the end it's out anyway... But Mike great work on this one!!!

I wish lol. They won’t help the unhoused population, but as a filmmaker i can guarantee you they will shut down your set with no permit very fast. They only care about stuff they can shut down. And Hollywood now is basically with whoever has money. Small budget and medium budget stuff doesn’t even get made anymore, it’s all blockbusters or nothing.
Unfortunately, or fortunately, Hollywood is also declining.

So for people who don't live in LA what exactly is the graffiti towers? New or old construction? Why dont they just demolish it?
Your slack-line video is great ! If RUclips won't monetize it, they're missing a bet for sure. These two towers are in keeping with China's practice of building skyscrapers that sit unoccupied for years in various parts of their country. Maybe the wire-walkers of LA should go to China and work out on some of those. But I guess a slack line is a slack line wherever it is. However, it's too bad LA has to spend so much trying to keep people off the ones it has.

IMO: This daredevil, miscreant tightrope walker basically outdid every graffiti artist who has tagged either building. He will be remembered far longer than any graffiti art on either building, too.
