Jan Moganwa is the smartest person on the table his understanding of South African politics, economics and society is unmatched. I mean this man was a CEO of old mutual, he was an executive at absa, standard bank, telkom and many big companies but his the one who speaks for the poor in a table where the is no one richer than him for zamas the guy with the cap to think he can debate Jan on economics with his micro understanding of economics was frustrating for me. Eugene didn't belong on this table his clueless on political issues. We needed a sizwe mphofu Welsh of SMWX to balance views. We could have got more from this discussion.

Eugene should have chaired, yes he seemed not that knowledgeable but he is strong opinionated with a good moral compass, Sol was too quite kanti we know he would have destroyed plus Jan Moganwa and Sizwe that would have been something else... way above the scope then Podcast's contents but extremely informative to the everyday chiller

Politics has different meanings to the privileged and lower class. The guy with the white hair understands. The rest of the panel is likely to worry about property taxes, rates, inflation and all, while the ordinary South African will worry if they will be having a meal that night.

We're the "Middle class" but we're drowning in debt and are slaves to our employers who at one mistake can easily pull the rugg from underneath our feet and it's right back to poverty 😢

Anc chose D.A because they have the same handlers it's that obvious and simple .....D.A and Anc coalition was decided way before elections its very clear to see & I fail to understand how people don't see it ......I mean it's no coincidence that all the parties funded by WMC just happen to be the ones accepted in GNU ( D.A , Anc , IFP)

The advantage of being a young democracy and a developing country with less infrastructure is that we do not need to tear down old to space for new, we go straight to current while preparing for future. So we need to learn from those 100,200 yr democracies and adjust to suite our situation now and forecast. So yes, we can compare for the sake of learning with the aim to implement a good solution.

To add on what the guy in the cap is saying about taxes and spending (When the businesses are failing they tend to increase prices for their goods and services to try and stay afloat to also afford high interests rates and rent'), SA doesn't do deflation. High prices remain even when the interest rates go down (fuel, mortgage and some' do go down). Imported goods tend to be cheaper that local products which is what kills our exportation.

Zimasa and Eugene have lost the plot, just speaking from a point of privilege. The white guy speaks from a point of view of a white person, the guy with white hair is on point. He understands politics and economics, the ANC never wanted to talk with the EFF and MK. DA said they won't work with both parties, so ANC aligning with the DA knew there is no chance of them adding the EFF and MK into that coalition. This GNU or Grand Coalition is only going to benefit big business and mostly rich people. The middle class will suffer while the poor will remain poor, capitalism is always aboit profits and never about maling the lives of the workers better.
