They were given Whatever machines they wanted, the welds always look so nice but we often have cracking on both their Tig and Mig operations, its frustrating because We have to use these guys for insurance reasons, Even some of our young guys can weld better, looks half ass but they dont have issues. being a production manager i managed to out source some of our Big work like roll cages, i just cant trust them.

Ruby was an auction vette with a swapped out truck motor thats been struck by lightning. Shes always been a little rough around the edges. How long did that headlight hold on for dear life with some red duct tape? Ty's turbo kit is beautiful and is exactly what ruby needs to take us through 2022.

When welding heavy to lite,jacket the hole,weld heavy to jacketed hole. I weld heavy to jacket,jacket to hold. Less heat to hole and more comfort to weld
Ty is a fabricator DELUXE. It’s amazing to see him do all of that plumbing and have it come out perfect. His welding seams and beads are flowed so evenly, that they look like a robot did them. What a valuable contributor he has become to the McFarland team. He has become so at ease in front of the camera that it’s hard to imagine him to have ever been camera shy.
Whatever you’re paying Ty he needs a raise. Everyone on the channel fits in so well and seem comfortable doing the camera stuff now. We need more Sam too!
If I remember correctly, Ty wanted nothing to do with being on camera back when he did his first round of Crown Vics. He is killing it and turns out to be a natural. So cool to see his fab work in progress.

yeah I remember when Cleet first mentioned that they had hired a full time Crown vic mechanic/fab man. And that he didnt want to be on camera. Then the Jet boats became a thing and I think that after all the praise he got from us on his work he warmed up to being on camera. It can be hard to put yourself front and center like that. Im glad he is part of the team!

Ever since I saw Ty working on the jet boats, I could tell he was something special. Dude just seems to come in and put in the best work. It's crazy how Ruby went from being essentially a test car with junkyard motors/parts to one of the flagship machines and top notch parts and fab work. Love it!

I'm 45 as of November this year. I saw Shockwave at Union Grove raceway in Wisconsin when I was like 8 years old. Great to see it's still running at the tracks.

@@thebootless Hey, my iron block 5.3 has 20 years on it with ZERO problems (as a daily driver) but probably wouldn't survive the kind of abuse these guys put them through
You guys should look into electronic wastegates. It's relatively new tech, but from what I've seen there's really no better or more accurate option for controlling boost pressure. Plus there's the added benefit of no longer needing to mess around with CO2 bottles.
Are they set to go full open incase of failure? Or do they stay closed? If they stay closed, can you just have a massive emergency waste gate that opens just before shit hits the fan?
@@lucassvedlund3851 I don't know, I haven't looked into that. I assume it would be designed so that under failure (in this case the actuator motor dying or the gate not getting power) the gate wouldn't have the ability to hold the valve closed, so it would open immediately under any kind of boost pressure. But like I said I don't know how they've got that set up. Hopefully that's how they've done it, because common sense would be to make it that way so if you melt a wire on the gate or something it doesn't clamp the valve shut and grenade your motor because you're pumping way more boost through it than you intended.

When welding heavy to lite,jacket the hole,weld heavy to jacketed hole. I weld heavy to jacket,jacket to hold. Less heat to hole and more comfort to weld

yeah I remember when Cleet first mentioned that they had hired a full time Crown vic mechanic/fab man. And that he didnt want to be on camera. Then the Jet boats became a thing and I think that after all the praise he got from us on his work he warmed up to being on camera. It can be hard to put yourself front and center like that. Im glad he is part of the team!

Dang Ruby's turbo placement makes it look awesome. Between Ruby or Mullet it is close but mullet is still on my top list.
Ruby is sick but Mullet takes the cake for me. When The boys get that thing fully fully dialed it’s going to be scary fast.
Ever since I saw Ty working on the jet boats, I could tell he was something special. Dude just seems to come in and put in the best work. It's crazy how Ruby went from being essentially a test car with junkyard motors/parts to one of the flagship machines and top notch parts and fab work. Love it!
Between the awesome new turbo kit and it being so shiny, ruby is looking absolutely amazing, twice as good as before tbh

I'm 45 as of November this year. I saw Shockwave at Union Grove raceway in Wisconsin when I was like 8 years old. Great to see it's still running at the tracks.

Technically if your turbo is sized right on your race car it should spin slow... Ruby's going to rip when PRI is over
If you need to you can put isopropyl alcohol in with your windshield washer fluid to prevent freezing and help with defrosting your windshield!!!!

@@thebootless Hey, my iron block 5.3 has 20 years on it with ZERO problems (as a daily driver) but probably wouldn't survive the kind of abuse these guys put them through

You guys should look into electronic wastegates. It's relatively new tech, but from what I've seen there's really no better or more accurate option for controlling boost pressure. Plus there's the added benefit of no longer needing to mess around with CO2 bottles.
Are they set to go full open incase of failure? Or do they stay closed? If they stay closed, can you just have a massive emergency waste gate that opens just before shit hits the fan?
@@lucassvedlund3851 I don't know, I haven't looked into that. I assume it would be designed so that under failure (in this case the actuator motor dying or the gate not getting power) the gate wouldn't have the ability to hold the valve closed, so it would open immediately under any kind of boost pressure.
But like I said I don't know how they've got that set up. Hopefully that's how they've done it, because common sense would be to make it that way so if you melt a wire on the gate or something it doesn't clamp the valve shut and grenade your motor because you're pumping way more boost through it than you intended.
I honestly think the next turbo rendition might need to be a compound setup
