Obviously a lot is left out from the book in this movie because it's in very long book. I think you would like the book a lot better if you ever got the chance to read it. The book does focus a lot more on the mystery of the half blood Prince and also goes into more detail about Tom Riddle's past. Additionally, in the book, Harry does not move to protect Dumbledore because he is unable to. Dumbledore uses magic to basically bind Harry to the spot. That's actually one way that Harry knows that Dumbledore has died, because the spell that Dumbledore had placed on Harry is lifted after Snape kills Dumbledore.

That actually does sound a lot better especially the part that Harry couldn’t physically help dumbledore because of the spell. The movie version is unbelievable that Harry would just stand there and watch and not try to do something to help. Also the mystery of the half blood prince was something I was looking forward too but the movie didn’t focus on it. I’m a get the books eventually I used to be an avid reader I been wanting to read again, thanks for the comment! Deathly Hallows reaction dropping soon.

@@DollarBoiEntas someone who watched the movies first then started listening to the audiobooks, I prefer it in this order because it feels like the books are giving us all these deleted or alternate scenes. Also I was never disappointed by the movies since I didn’t originally have high hopes from the books. Book readers are almost always disappointed by the movies.
My point is you’re doing it in the right order and you’ll love the books too

Voldemort was obsessed with the number 7 - in the flashback there are 7 shells on his shelf along with the picture of the cave. Seven is a magical number in the wizarding world. But it's six horcruxes plus the piece of soul that has to stay in Voldemort so that makes a 7-part soul.
Severus's mother's maiden name was Eileen Prince, she married Tobias Snape, a muggle, so that makes Snape a Half-Blood Prince. It's a nickname Severus made for himself because his father was very abusive and a drunkard. Severus is a potions prodigy as a young kid and taught potions when he didn't get into the Dark Arts job. He would always put the recipes up on the black board for the students to follow rather than the version in the books, with his own adjustments to the recipe - and so because Hermione is very much the type to follow things to a T, she excelled in potions until this year because the recipe in the book wasn't exactly accurate.

You made some valid observations. You were cooking. The last story is broken up into two movies. I think a lot of your questions get answered.

Lol thank you don’t get me wrong there’s a lot that I do like about this movie I just think there were certain things they should have focused on more, maybe the book was too dark so they lightened it up with all the relationship stuff in this movie and I’m assuming the next 2 movies are even darker then this so they didn’t wanna make this movie too dark but I just felt like this movie ain’t live up to my expectation. Thanks for the comment can’t wait to react to the next 2 movies!

8:50 Their characters are 16 in this movie, so they are teenagers.
12:25 The movies did a poor job of showing the development of Harry & Ginny’s relationship but the books made it clear.
51:05 It was a different bird.
52:45 The grounds directly outside of the castle are protected; remember that magical barrier that was erected after the students entered the grounds.
    1:08:30 Dumbledore is dead.

I had pretty much all the same gripes you had the first couple times I watched this, but it eventually grew on me. Definitely lower ranked movie in the series, although the book is much better

I feel like this could of been one of the best movies in the whole series if they did it better, especially if this the movie Dumbledore dies in, and I was hoping of more of a tense face off between Harry and Draco but maybe with time this movie will grow on me

Ps. There are some seriously fun read in this book. Aragogs funeral is definitely one of them. Luna provides us with some truly wonderful content too. That said, the overall tone is pretty dark and gloomy.

Voldemort's mother was a plain to the point of ugly girl who was bullied and put down so much that she could hardly cast a spell. The people who did this to her were her own father and brother. She was madly in love with a rich muggle boy who never even knew she existed. In short her family were sent to Azkeban, she was left alone and she made hay whist the sun shone. There are still no definitive answers of HOW she did it, but she married Riddle, became pregnant then for whatever reason he suddenly left her. She never used magic again. She sold a certain locket to Borgin and Burkes for the measly price of 10 Galleons, even though it was priceless. She died - like Oliver Twist's mother - as a pauper in an orphanage.

She married her own son ? I’m confused

@@DollarBoiEntno the muggles name was Tom Riddle, voldomort was named after his Dad. His Mom gave Riddle a love potion so he did not really love her. She became pregnant and stopped hiving him the potion so he left her. That is why voldomort is evil, he was not made out of love so he does not know how to love.

Can you imagine we had to wait (at least) an entire year between each book. Imagine waiting a whole year for the story to continue from here.
    About your disappointment,
when/if you read the books, this book is far more serious than the movie. You might really like it.
    🪄✨
And the movie made some choises you'll find quite different in the book.
I like both of the remaining movies, but they differ very much in every sense. Some say the book was split in two to make more money. I believe you'll agree with me after watching them, that one movie would have been a terrible choise.

I always like the books better because that’s the true story the author is trying to tell and it stays true to the vision. With movies they change things and cut some things out in order to make it more digestible for the audience and not convoluted.
