Takes me back to fiddling with my radio, tuning it to whatever station I could get. Remember rush FM, Don FM and a few others. Listening while you were getting ready to go out raving!! Or listening in my mates room with about 10 of us crammed in there smoking weed !! Open the door and a big fog escapes!! Happy days!! Going to the phone box for shout outs!!
Breaks my heart listening to these tapes 💔 One because we have no pirate radio stations anymore AND two im old now and i wish i could go back 😢 Three the music is not as good nowadays and four the talent is watered down with every man and his dog playing on the Internet. The 90s and early 2000s were special and the Internet killed everything. I would love to go to the local record shop every week again but they are gone now put out of business by online shopping 😢 Please someone build a time machine 🙏
Man, I loved Rush as a school kid 91/92. Defection, Kool etc. Such great times, then we brought pirate radio to Essex, Shakedown & Conflict Fm from 93. In 1995 I had the honour of holding down a weekly set on Rush. But 91/92 were the golden years.
+markylovesrave Cheers Mark! Still got 100+ to digitize and upload. Has been a labour of love since the summer. Working full-time and trying to squeeze digitising 250+ tapes around evenings with 3 kids. Ouch. Check out "DK The Practice tape" - there are 2 copies on my channel - one is better quality than the other. That is an amazing tape from the era that I played to death at the time. There is one by an old friend "Russ" that is also excellent. Tapes by Logan or Graeme Fisher who both grew up in the same town as me - their stuff is special. Peace (Please spread the word)
word is spread matey, reminds me of being young and trying to lock my dial onto pirate radios, we used to trade mixtapes at school in the 90's, we never knew who it was as a dj though- but hey it was all about the music !! peace
Still listening to this regularly for last 7 years Dica is a joker big up the phone box crew sort the nuggets out put a pound coin in . Foundation businesss
Big up all the Essex hardcore crew. Music Power Ilford, Boogie Times Romford. Best days of my life. Got a few sets (and my own tunes) uploaded on my channel if anyone needs more to listen to. Keep it ardcore...
