That's exactly the problem! How do you know that the one seeking help from you is a robber or murderer? How about preferring to consider the possibility that the person truly needs help rather than imagining that he is out to kill or murder you. Besides, aren't there murders and robberies committed anyhow every day by people who are not asking for accommodation at the homes of people who don't know them? Imagined consequences or not, it is always better to suffer for doing good than to suffer for doing evil. Moreover, there are a million other ways to help a complete stranger in need if you feel uncomfortable taking him in, but turning him away unassisted isn't one of them.

One time I have worked on the small construction project with my dad for this wealthy multimillionaire who owned 300+ apartment units. He was an interesting dude. Gave us extra money just (because) and took us on a ride in his helicopter around the washington lake, here near seattle.

I then slept in various parks and sometimes I had a couple of bucks that I used to stay at a hostel in the area.
Unless I knew the guy at least a little bit I wouldn't let him stay in the house I now live in.
And I would be even more strict if I had other people living with me like a wife and kids.
But I do give some food (bananas, oranges, crackers, biscuits, chocolate) and a couple of other things too (masks, hand sanitizer, new socks, a beer and a couple of cigarettes) every time an homeless old man sleeps at the bus stop right outside the condo I live in.

I'd say she was very lucky, but she did not entertain for even one second the thought that any would do wrong, she 100% believed they wouldn't and they didn't.
Oh, random and unrelated, but was a big WTF for me, her very close elderly friend got her house broken into and they stole some jewellery and stuff. She refused to report it to the police because she knew the thief would see their error and it would be returned. And you'll never f***ing believe what happened!! A very chaste young man turned up several days later, utterly ashamed and apologetic, and returned it all. Those women, they were something else.

Yeah because those countries are incredibly poor and their is no support from the government. In western countries you get something called social welfare payments, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, all of which provide free food or enough money to live a very good life. Nobody in western countries has to actually be homeless or be hungry. 99.9% of homeless people you see in western countries, chose to be homeless, even though they could sleep in a bed in a warm room, they prefer to be on the street. In my country, Germany, every citizen that doesn’t have a job, gets 600$ in cash + gets paid his rent, insurances, and thousand other things indefinitely - EVEN THE „Homeless“ get the same thing. People who are homeless in western countries are usually homeless because they have problems with their behavior, they get kicked out of their apartments, because they make problems or they don’t pay Rent, because they use their money for drugs. They are not homeless because they don’t have enough money.
So if you see a guy in front of your door like that, in a western country, you know he is alright, he has food, he has a place to sleep. So why should you provide him something of which you know, he already has plenty of?
And yes, I know it’s different in third World countries... you have no Job, you lose your apartment -> you have nothing. I know. But this video is shot in the US, not in Somalia or India.

Americans, by and large, USED to be like that. Not anymore. Unfortunately, it's turned into a mostly toxic, selfish, and low trust society over the past 20+ years. People these days are generally cold, unhelpful and distrustful of one another. For a multitude of reasons, we are now more divided than ever. I'm a bit older than most of the people posting here, so I've noticed the change in people over the past couple of decades.
That being said, he's also doing this prank in a city called Scottsdale, which has some of the most pretentious, vain, and superficial people in the country. So, the mostly uncompassionate and unhelpful responses he received from the people there does not surprise me.

It’s easy for people in the comments to say “oh I would let him in, they are rich why would they do that” i took a second to put myself in the position of the wealthy people, and tbh I don’t think I would necessarily reject him completely and move on with my day, but I would want to have an opportunity to have a genuine conversation with him/her. If he truly needed a bed and food I would do that, maybe not in my house but I would definitely rent him a Airbnb, or hotel for a couple nights because I had a conversation with that person, and understand where he came from. So my point is that if someone would walk threw my door and ask for food and a place to stay it all depends on what the man/women has gone threw and why is in this very position.

People at the bottom just eat each other - all the while being ostracized, shamed, and stepped on by most everyone else. Homeless shelters s##k a##. ANY other potential option is BETTER. There's really very little good to say about homeless shelters. It's akin to trying to say good things about housing projects. They're just nests of filth, depravity, and slothfulness. Always a few idiots who like to go around everywhere (in the shelters) looking to beat the s##t out of people too (usually big dudes too and often strung out on drugs) and steal anything they can or just harass or try to intimidate other "guests". And most staff are like SS of the German Gestapo (not "all" staff but many of them). Those places - homeless shelters - absolutely S##K.

    • @kay0946

@walid 13B yeah took me less than a minute to find out that several government travel advisories advice travellers to reconsider travelling to Algeria.
      www.worldnomads.com/travel-safety/north-africa/algeria/algeria-terrorism
So this didn't suprise me at all because theres no place in earth that's perfectly safe and peaceful because murderers, thieves, rapist etc are all humans and there're humans in every country. So think again before lying about your paradise country.

    • @kay0946
      @kay0946 4 года назад +7

@walid 13B yeah earth is beautiful for sure but not all humans. I don't have anything against your country I just know that there's no place in earth where there are no murderers, thieves, rapist etc. With those humans in sight, people won't let strangers into their family and home. I'm not an American so I don't have anything to defend I'm just being realistic.
