- Chestermere, originally named Chestermere Lake, is a city in the Canadian province of Alberta, within Rocky View County. It is largely a commuter town of Calgary and is a member municipality of the Calgary Regional Partnership. The city, which surrounds Chestermere Lake, was known as Chestermere Lake from 1977 to 1993. Chestermere is one of Alberta's fastest growing cities and is on track to have more than 50,000 residents by the year 2040.
I love Calgary and wish I could live here. Pray for me to live here soon

I hope I see Mrs.kind
The video is quite a wake up call as to how things have changed, no walk down nostalgia lane there, because there is nothing left of the old.....as a kid my neighbour used to take me ice fishing for perch and pike on that lake.. he'd drive this old model T out on the ice; later on he had a 47 Pontiac, ... likely nowadays they'd throw you in jail for doin that.. some rule or law for sure. They once had a cool outdoor drive-in up on the hill back of town such as movie theaters were was back in the 50's and 60's..
The place is fully gentrified now, underground utilities, probably crazy expensive much like everything else in Canada. Back then he shoreline was but a collection of clapboard shacks and small summer homes, a few rowboats tied to the dock. And access to the area was a 2 lane highway through the town of Forest Lawn, now long gone..
As if it is 23 minutes away from Calgary. It is only about 5 minutes outside of Calgary's City Limits. The nearby East Hills Shopping Center is just down the road and it is inside of Calgary. I think that Strathmore might be 23 minutes away from Calgary, not Chesteremere.
maybe they mean by walking? although, I'd assume it'd probably be an hour at least by walking
Strathmore is 40 min away
23 mins from city centre of Calgary approximately. Calgary and Chestermere do indeed share city boundaries at 17 Ave SE/Chestermere Blvd, you are correct!
No downtown centre, just houses and a lake? No thanks!
Chestermere is nice but not a city it's town and soon to be a neighbourhood in calgary
