I never even know who she is until I saw this video. Yeah, sooner or later on down the line, there will be a cure for AIDS. We just have to keep relaying on scientist to do the work by doing extra research on finding the cure and find something that I can cure people from it.

I NEVER forgot her. Never. In 1996, when she appeared with such poignant maturity and a natural capacity to engender compassion, I found her immensely captivating. I was seven years old watching that Oprah Winfrey Show that featured her and though I am not afflicted with HIV/AIDS, I am however born with Sickle Cell Disease, a debilitating, disabling Blood Disorder, since Birth that causes multiple Painful Hospitalizations each year. This sweet and highly-intelligent young lady unknowingly imparted upon me a fundamental Life-lesson about NOT feeling sorry for oneself and using one's struggle to help others. God rest her beautiful Soul. 🖤

To think all of the intricacies of the human body all came from nothing evolving into everything? Especially considering in science we know that something cannot come from nothing. Every commandment is for our own good. It's a literal guidebook on how to live life. Sin has consequences. In the same way that a Father tells his toddler they cannot eat chocolate for breakfast every day - due to the obvious consequences. The bible tells us the equivalent of what not to do to avoid the consequences of those sins.

Yeah, my mother abandoned me at a pychward and left me in the state of Oregon when I was 12 years old. The ward was abusive, and I only escaped when I aged out. Since then, I've been sexually assaulted, homeless and condemned by most my family for not being good enough. "Gotta work with the cards you've been dealt." - Told by many.
There is more to life than this. God did not create us to suffer and die. He created mankind to live forever on earth and to cultivate the earth and to take care of the animals (Genesis 1: 26 and 27). One day soon, God will reverse the suffering and death of mankind ( Revelation 21: 4)

She was born with HIV in 1984. It was diagnosed in 1987. There were not any treatment options at that time. It progressed rapidly. By the time she was 5, she had full-blown AIDS, which is a much more deadly disease than HIV. Even with antiretrovirals, it’s a miracle she lived to 39. She was a beautiful woman. RIP.

I remember watching Hydeia a long time ago on 20/20. My mom, Rev. Mary Johnson laid hands on our TV and prayed for her. Thank God she lived to be 39yrs old. I did not know her, but she touched my heart as well as others. That is why it is important to make it count because life is too short.

Oh my, i remember her on Oprah show in 1996, i was taken a back by her ability to express herself so well. She did well in advocating for Aids, at a tender age she did what an adult was afraid to advocate for. My sincere condolences to her family, she was a gem😢😢😢
