Love what you’re doing for the community. Awesome products!!!
Thank you!
@@islandwatch will this fit on SRPC03/SARY089 ? any plans on re-stocking?
Omg, i bought the cocktail from ur site as my first automatic watch, beat the hell out of it. Thank you!!!
Looks like you just got the Cocktail time put on my Christmas list with that upgrade! Thanks, Mark!
I hope you sell these watches with the Sapphire installed already.
I found your video through your website and it really sold me on it. This is awesome! I'm buying one right now!
I just received mine here in France. The crystal fits perfect on my ssa345j1 "expresso martini". My watch is brand new now ! Thank you !
I don't know how to say this but ill say it anyways:
Your videos make me happy, surreal and enjoy the details of a timepiece.
gonna buy this soon. thanks for making this available
Very nice. I just got my cocktail time and I love it. Whenever the hardlex gets scratched in the future, I’ll be upgrading to this.
What is the process of doing that?
Wow...finally! I really need this...
FINALLY! Thanks Mark!
Finally! I’ve been looking for a sapphire replacement for my SRPB77 and $100 is not bad at all. I’ll be sure to grab one soon
I was just wondering about when this was going to come out and was looking for it yesterday, as the only thing holding me back from getting the SRPD37 was that hardlex crystal. Great to hear that it's finally out.
Same for me that hardlex was a no go.
Don't know why Seiko didn't just do this in the first place. Nobody wants hardlex on a watch like that!
exactly
But you will pay it 700$ not 600$
@@SamiCapoeiraProduct No there is Tissot with sapphir for less than 500$
@@hicksakila1497 automatic? :)
They make beautiful watch, and cut corners.
Thanks for the info Marc!
I'm really excited about this. When i have the extra cash i am ordering one.
Thanks, now i know the difference between boxed and domed. Now i have more respect for boxed crystals
Very awesome! Good to know I can get this at some point to upgrade my SRPB46, which has a couple minor scratches.
Cool, thanks.
Awesome upgrade !!!
Thank you!
Good job Mark
The dials (wow!) The movement! The case and strap! I am just waiting for a sapphire example in the right model at the right price.
Wait, you're waiting for Seiko to release a sapphire crystal? I thought they all were Hardlex
Excellent.
yay my watch!!
You should have went with a clear AR, there is even more glare on that saphire crystal. A shame since it would be perfect with a clear AR coating
It is my opinion that clear AR offers very little. Since you are usually reflecting the sky, blue light, the blue AR filters it out the best.
Ooooh wow, i didn’t know Chris Delia was a watch enthusiast on RUclips!!!
Have Had A Hardlex on My Blue dial Solar for 19 months,No Scratches & I Wear It Daily
Marc, do you know why these remain clear at the very edge of the dial versus other box shaped sapphire crystals. I also have one of the new King Seiko's and the box crystal on that watch produces a very visible milky ring around the outer perimeter of the dial/crystal making it harder to see the minute markers. These seem to be just like the hardly where it still looks like an acrylic crystal around the edge, great job!
Great video 👍🏻
Thank you.
Just ordered this for my SSA345J1 to Singapore, hopefully I will receive it. Will update once I get it professionally installed.
I got it last week in my mail(i also have the SSAA345J1 Espresso Martini, and went to a watch maker to replace it with the saphire. It looks so good and feels exactly as it was brand new. Lighting is slightly different but the watch looks more premium now!
I might be subjective by the excellence of your allover performance, but this sapphire glass makes look the watch a more prestigious item (in addition to the technical advantage and quality of sapphire).
Since you had to open the watch to replace the glad, Does it affect the water resistant capabilites of the watch?
Do you offer replacements for the SARB065?
This is exactly what i’m looking for since I bougth the watch past July.
I’m from Spain. Can I buy it?
Thanks for your videos
Sweet Baby Jesus. I knew the islander would have a Sapphire Upgrade.
Is it possible to swap out the crystal to a more flatter crystal? Not a fan of the box crystal look as it is high. I suppose it may be that way due to the height of the hands stacking up and the needed clearance...
Hey Mark, will replacing the crystal (SARY085) hurt the value of the watch?
Damn I really wanted an AntiReflective Dome Crystal for mine like the one on the Baby Grand.
Mark what's the dimension of the dial on these presages?
Thanks
I bought this crystal from you for my Presage, but no one seems to know how to change it. Any tips?
Will a watch crystal lift work? I've only seen you use a press. If so, can you do a watch and learn about it?
Nice. Any chance of producing them for the 34mm women's cocktail time? My girlfriend has one of those. Also, how about the new 38mm ones? I'm looking to get one of those.
Dear Mark, I am about order this crystal but in the compatibility list there’s no SARB065. Could you please confirm does it fit or not. Thank you in advance.
Does anyone know whether this would also fit the Grasshopper (Ref. SSA441)? I'm in a rut choosing between that or the Mockingbird and the assurance of being able to replace the stock hardlex with the sapphire would help in deciding. Any suggestions would also be greatly appreciated.
Clear non-blue AR undercoating would seal the deal for me? Nice upgrade!
Thanks John.
Same thing here... with AR coating that would be an immediate deal :-)
If it's glued then how is the water resistance? I have to Seiko 5 fathoms watch and the hardlex scratched and was looking to replace and hoped to have at least a decent water resistance. Is this the correct crystal? Or is it a different type?
Will this fit the original cocktail time sarb065?
Just one question: does this fit with the Orient Bambino serries or small seconds as well? Thank you
Good to know! :) When I scratch mine I will come back to you! I presume you sent overseas?
do you have a version for the 34mm cocktail?
Are you thinking of making one for the smaller case presage watches ?
Will this fit on the original cocktail SARB065?
Are you shipping in EU italy?
Will the sapphire fit on the star bar limited edition SARY183? Just want to be 100% certain before purchase Sinse there is slight differences in this model. Thank you
Dang, I'd love to do a crystal swap on mine, but 100 for a crystal would be a struggle for me. The nick on mine does bother me, but not that much yet. Maybe one day.
Any chance this fits the SARB065 as well? Would love a sapphire crystal for mine.
Wondering the same thing as mine has a few scratches on it. Did you get an answer?
Will it fit SARB065?
How much would this typically cost (for installation)?
Hi Mark, very good upgrade ! But one question : it seems that the sapphire fades the colour on the sample watch, is it the video or my eyes (I saw this when you held the watches side by side) ?
It's just a function of the lighting.
@@islandwatch Ok, thank you Mark :)
Very glad you decided to do this. The hardlex was one of the main reason I was hesitant to pick up a cocktail time... Great decision and I think (hope) you'll get a lot of purchases
Miles Ross i got the presage. I dont mind hardlex or mineral on dresswatch types. Only needed on field or divers imo.
@@hugedickerinokripperino5299 That would be fine if they were priced accordingly.
Orion i think its well priced. I got mine in great condition used for like 200. And because its domed itd be hard to actually pull it off for that price. Hes selling his crystal for like $99. Thats half the cost of the presage i got.
@@hugedickerinokripperino5299 I'm of the exact opposite opinion on that. Outside of select vintage dress watches, sapphire is pretty much required for me on dress watches since the entire point of dress watches for me is to look flawless. I'm much more okay with if not prefer mineral or even acrylic on divers/field watches because I certainly don't want my sapphire crystal possibly shattering while diving.
Tai Bui i understand the impact resistance of sapphire but its pretty unlikely to happen. Plus i dont use my divers for actual diving, but i understand your argument. Honestly if i have a dress watch im not going to be doing anything that could risk scratching it. My presage was bought second hand and I’ve had it for about half a year now and cant find a single scratch. Just my opinion.
Nice to have the upgrade option I guess if you feel inclined. But personally I've never really seen the need for Sapphire, certainly on a dress watch.
Thanks!
Hey Mark, Does this work for the older Cocktail times (Sarb065)?
I do not know.
Do you guys provide services to replace the glass yourself?!?
I'm going to buy a SRPB41 and would love to be offered one that came as a new watch with the upgrade pre-installed, just saying.
@Mark , may I know the diameter of the crystal for seiko presage ? Looking to purchase one from you
Looks better with hardlex. Seiko made the right choice for the dial.
Hi Marc, will this fit the SSA409 honeycomb?
Hello, does the same crystal apply for the open heart series? i got a seiko SSA405J1 and i dont know if it will fit. Also do you ship to Poland?
I'm interested in this too :)
Is it possible to get one that’s not boxed or domed but more flat ?
Any chance y'all can make one for the Seiko Mojito?
Will these fit the cocktail time Mojito- SRPE45J1?
could u please let me know if i can make it thinner with a different caseback>?
Nice upgrade! Is it posible to replace to saphire glass on the new Arnie?
Not from us.
sounds like alot of cost and trouble. Maybe if you were forced to replace the hardlex crystal due to a mishap it might be worth it. Otherwise, I find hardlex plenty durable - especially on a dress watch that normally resides under the protection of a shirt sleeve.
Can I just stick a phone screen scratch resistant layer?
Will there be replacements for the 38mm editions?
Good upgrade! I'm assuming this will fit the sary 082 as well? Cheers.
Yes.
Hey ! Would this crystal fit an OG SARB065 as well ?
Hi, will this fit the SARB065?
Will you add this option for seiko cocktail 38.5mm ones?
Where can I buy the sapphire crystal glass?
How much does it cost to get it done at a shop?
Will this fit Seiko Presage SRPG05 as well?
How much does it cost roughly to get it fitted properly? I own this watch and was told I couldn't get a sapphire crystal, this is great news as had it a year, and it scratched so easy. I'm from the UK. How can I get one off you please? Cost with shipping? Thank you
Well i just got my SSA345J1(Espresso martini) done yesterday. Im from the Netherlands and get it shipped cost 113 euros(20 import tax) and 45 euros for labor. My harlex glass was pretty badly scratches so for me it was totally worth it since i can now wear it without worrying too much about scratches.
How come this doesn’t have that milky hue that the sapphire speed master has ?
Interesting question whether it makes sense to spend $100 for the sapphire crystal and $50 for the labor to upgrade a $350 watch, if the original hardlex crystal hasn't been scratched yet, particularly when there's no AR coating to change the optics in any way. Maybe the play is to purchase the upgrade crystal as a backup for when ugly scratches do occur. But maybe that's obsessive. Hmmm.
Mine got scratched and I will be doing exactly what you wrote. At the moment the scratches aren't bothering me all that much, but in the future, it will after probably getting a few more.
And about the price, it depends on the Cocktail Time, not all of them are around 300 bucks. I've seen some Starlights getting sold on eBay for $800 and even $1000! It's been creeping up in value nonstop.
I bashed my Cocktail Time against a steel pole, so I will be purchasing one of these.
Wonder how this would look with a fluted replacement bezel. This bezel is not pronounced
Does this fit on the SRPH78 star bar?
Hello, I want to Mod flat Sapphire glass for Seiko cocktail watches, is it possible?
Where can i buy it ?i need one please say me where
Thanks to Marc for getting these made. This is a bad chapter in Seiko history. All Seiko watches should have sapphire crystal. The Seiko 6 Standard should be sapphire crystal on all watches.
Where and how can I purchase this sapphire crystal for my presage ??
Does anyone know there is a crystal for seiko 60s series or still too early to search it? Thanks!
Does it lose its warranty? If u change
I wanna order too? Can u help me with a link? Tanks
Don't suppose you're carrying G shock 2100? That thing outright disappeared! :)
I had and sold the srpb41 for that exact reason. The hardlex sits proud and is almost impossible to keep scratch free. Even with occasional light wear it’ll pick up scratches. And, personally, it detracts from the beauty of the dial too much.
right on
Does it not fit SRPE45?
Ive seen on the webpage that the crystal is no longer available. Do you plan to have them again? Actually I am looking for the sapphire for SRPE41J1 that is 38,5mm Seiko presage cocktail
actually it available right now, today
@@OscarEsBlanco That's a great info. Unfortunatelly there is still lack of 38,5mm seiko presage version :(
+1 to the 38.5 model. 34mm crystal. Please make one!
Did anyone already have this crystal installed on his Seiko? and if yes, what are the impressions (reflection/waterproof/etc)?
Feedback would be welcome :-)
Hi Mark,
I noticed by Seiko, SPRD-41, has a plastic retaining ring / movement holder instead of a metal.
Will this affect the longevity / long term performance?
Thank you.
The one and only reason i don't own a cocktail time is the hardlex
Now there's not reason not to!
