My interpretation of the video, which could be WAY OFF: A metaphor of his life
It starts with Ronnie being crowned. This could represent him feeling he’s really made it when he was performing with Escape the Fate. Then when Ronnie is just being his genuine, expressive, yet younger radical self, he gets into some trouble and stands before the court which is the room of black coats when he is shirtless in this video. In the video, He is then found guilty and thrust against the cross feeling the weight of his guilt, shame, sorrow, and grief. He dies which can represent captivity in prison. In there, he wrestles with his internal dialogue of leaning toward good or evil. This is the white and black angels in the video. He chooses to reject the ideologies that dictate good and evil and just be his best self. In the video that is when he blows all the angels away. After being released from prison, he had nothing, this is him resurrected wandering in the desert in the video. He finds the cave and suit of black armor. This is him starting Falling in Reverse and becoming the Popular Monster.

Yeah personally I'm guessing that's not how it was written. But that is a really cool interpretation of it. I mean i guess it would make sense though considering the song is called "prequel", as the prequel to his fir career.
That may not be the exact reason but I do like that interpretation.

I like how the angels look just as creepy as the demons and he just blows them all off. Thing is, we gotta find our own way. We are all cynical, egoistical and hypocritical. Most just live the illusion that they are or became better than others by following orders. You have to get disillusioned, be "abandoned by the gods", before you can live by your own rules (despite knowing it won't end well, it rarely does).
He went to prison! Prison is not jail. Jail is a vacation/sleepover. Yeah, things have happened within his life, but he owns it. And to the person that says he is not a hardened criminal, really doesn't know what happens in there. Ronnie speaks truth and doesn't sugar coat things. Speaks on personal experiences.

This song instantly became one of my favorites off the album. It is so good, and the final part with the angels is legitimately just peak falling in reverse. Watch the world burn is still probably my #1 but prequel is top 3 for sure.

Ronnie has come from a history and changed into someone better for himself. All his music is for himself showing his struggles and the hatred from those that don't understand him, but bully him. Ronnie has opened my eyes musically with his love of how he creates his songs and those music videos. He always has meaning in them with those small eggs being planted. Like the black crown disappearing and developing as his tattoo on his forehead.

He isn't really a hardened criminal, he went to prison for carrying knuckle dusters (and I think not turning up to court for something) in a fight where some one got shot, he was not the shooter or aware the person even had a gun. The other two charges for *ape and domestic violence were all thrown out for no evidence he even counter sued. So he's not a harden criminal! - even the incident with the mike stand was an accident and all is good between him and the fan that was injured.
I respectfully disagree about him not being a hardened criminal. I got a fun fact for you bro, most people that go to prison aren't violent, but they are made to be due to the mental and physical abuse of the inside of the prisons. I've done three years in prison, and just 2 months of being in prison was enough to break me and cause me to be "hardened" to be able to survive the rest of it. So when Ronnie says that, it does not mean that he's done crazy crimes, but that it hardened him.
He went to prison NOT for carrying knuckle dusters in a fight, but for PARTICIPATING in the fight, which was aggravated by the use of knuckle dusters. I know that it's in the past, and he is a different person today, but don't cover up what really happened.

Or just violating probation. After an assault charge where he brought illegal brass knuckles to a fight. Where his "partner" killed a guy, but was ruled as self defense. So Ronnie had 5 years probation which he violated and got sent to prison for 2.5 years.. Calm down sailor.

it is the Prequel to everything he started with the Escape The Fate line which was his first band some of the music is from Popular music some vocals from Im not a vampire(operatic) the choirs in the background as well some scenes from Drugs and losing my mind songs ideas from zombified and Voice in my Head the suit from the last 2 videos and part of Voices in my head as well the cadences from several of his songs as well so it all ties together his whole artistic life is in this he is genius even things like all the hate he gets online from regular people and also from other artists he didnt hold anything back at all .

Ronnie went to prison because he and a few others went and fought other people out in the desert of Nevada. One of Ronnie’s guys shot and killed someone. Ronnie DID NOT kill anyone unlike what people like to spread misinformation about and was found guilty of battery with substantial bodily harm and to owning brass knuckles which are illegal in Nevada. He was put on 5 years probation but then violated the terms of probation and went to prison for 2 and 1/2 years because of that. But he turned himself around and is where he is now. I really respect him for being able to turn himself around and get sober after all that.
