About us:
After meeting in New Zealand back in 2017, Beth and Jake have travelled the world, working online and creating memories.
Beth left the UK in 2014 and has been travelling full time ever since, she is the owner of www.sheisthelostgirl.com and has a passion for writing and photography.
Jake has been travelling since 2016 and during this time has perfected his photography and videography skills. He is adventurous and has a passion for the outdoors.
Having lived in various countries around the world, we decided that instead of settling down, we'd build a tiny home inside a van.
We've never done anything like this before, we have no building experience, no electrical experience, and no plumbing experience.
This is a huge learning curve for us and we welcome you to join us in this challenge.
Our Wild Horizons documents a journey of continued adventure.

Just stunning...we did Snowdon boxing day with head torches in the dark....just gorgeous..my life goal....to get a van🌻🌼
Oh that’s a magical way to spend Boxing Day, I hope you got some views at the top!
Just stumbled on your channel. Well done, we've subscribed. Looking forward to the next one!
Thanks for subscribing! We have taken some time away but will be posting regularly again shortly!
Love it guys, subscribed and liked!!
Thank you!
Great video again 😁
Thanks for watching 😁
Fantastic video and photos, stunning scenery and love the voice over, Beth.
We’ll keep the voiceover for later videos too then!
Really really nice. Having been around the world it's great to appreciate your back yard so to speak. Lovely vlog. Mark
It took going away to truly appreciate what the UK does have to offer. We're very excited to see Scotland at some point as we know that's going to be stunning. Just waiting for it to warm up a bit... Thanks so much for watching!
@@OurWildHorizons-JakeAdv Yeah, it's all compact but it's all here Mark - nice one. Scotland will be a thrill.
hello from Outback Australia - the scenery you have captured is stunning, well done. You've got yourselves another subscriber, love the photo collage you did in the video.
Thanks! Ah we love the outback we spent 4 months driving the west coast and down the middle of Australia a few years ago! 😊
@@OurWildHorizons-JakeAdv oh my gosh, we live on the West Coast of Oz....Karijini National Park is our playground, literally just up the road from us, did you go there? We are heading your way soon, Darren is a Derby boy... we are in the preparation phase now of early retirement, so it's starting to happen.....only 821 days to go, but hey, who is counting 😂
That was our favourite national park! We drove all down the corrugated roads in a trusty 2 wheel drive station wagon! Our favourite part was Hamersley Gorge but the whole place was fantastic and we are so happy we did the west rather than the east coast. Oh that’s brilliant, hopefully those days go by quickly and then slow down when you reach it!
@@OurWildHorizons-JakeAdv yay, we are sooo glad you came here too and saw the beauty of the Australian Outback. Prior to covid, it puzzled us as to why so many Australiabs didn't visit Karijini....its our favourite Park too, but we are just a tad biased 😉
Wow, the Peak District is so beautiful and your amazing videography and photography really shows it off! 🤩 If you loved the Peak District then I recommend the Lake District. The scenery is even more epic (in my opinion 😉).
Thank you!! We had so much fun there! We have just finished exploring the Lake District hehe!! But made the mistake of going during summer holidays so we are going to go back and do it again after Europe :) thank you Sarah
Haha, great minds think alike 😂 I can’t wait to see that video and your European travels eeeeeeeee 😆
Great vid stunning views : ) I am looking forward to doing the peaks this year
It’s such a lovely part of England!
It’s such a lovely place! Winnats Pass was my favourite.

I’m sure you’ll love it! 😊
Such a calming video 💕
Thank you Laure :)
ah did you sleep ok,? sometimes takes adjustment sleeping in vans in diff places....WOW...love your poetic words...re- the sunrise there even if we don't see it...amazing pictures and views..i love being woken every morning by nature /the birds chorus..and usually dark.....merging into light...'on the edge...we'r so small & the worlds so big'..I love the pass you stayed in, it reallly reminded me of staying in cheddar gorge....the energy always feels so powerful to me ..i love your videos...theres such serenity in them from you both..Thankyou...* :) *
we've been sleeping really well since moving into the van :) Maybe its because we don't have windows, but when it's all dark we could be anywhere so its always easy to sleep, our mattress is very comfy too! :)
Thank you! I tried to put a bit more of my personality into the video, glad you liked the words :)
Oh its funny you should say that as we both mentioned how much it looked like cheddar gorge! So beautiful!
Thank you for watching :) xx
@@OurWildHorizons-JakeAdv thats ace ..enjoy the freedom ;) and your both beautiful souls....and send such good energy out with your channel...X*X*X

OH WOW!! Guys this was stunning! I'm just back from the peaks and this video makes me want to get out and explore again! My vlog wasn't nearly as detailed as this!
Oh thank you so much! We just checked your video out, it looked so cold!! :)
@@OurWildHorizons-JakeAdv was freeeeezing!
Lovely part of England 🏴
One of our favourites! Thanks for watching :)
Such a beautiful place :)
I!m going here soon :D
Hopefully you’ll love it as much as we did!
Thumbs up 👍

Enjoyed that and added it to my UK map of places to go! :-) xx
Glad you enjoyed it! Very pleased you’re adding it to your list of places to go, I know you’ll love it!
Hi, awesome video! How 3rd place called? Thank you in advance ☺️
You'll find all the locations here :) sheisthelostgirl.com/instagrammable-spots-in-the-peak-district/
I’ve done mam tor back tor jacobs ladder and kinder scout on a bike ride all in a day that’s well worth it
Cor we bet you were knackered after that! Thanks for watching 😊
Congrats guys wanna be able to follow suit maybe live out the country but not neqr europe due to the things happening, continue journey ahead
Thanks! Yeah, one of the benefits of van life is that we can always move to a quieter spot if things get worse
@@OurWildHorizons-JakeAdv Much welc and yea definitely we have to keep moving up roots where possible, if things were to get worse, one day of EMPs were to hit or big floods or storms would recommend a logwood cabin if you can build one, if things took a turn with the political protests maybe somewhere quiter
Visit Buxton, even Strangers are welcome........
Ohh next time we visit the Peak District we’ll be sure to visit it 😀
Brilliant 👍🏻
Thank you guys! Have you made it out there?
@@OurWildHorizons-JakeAdv not yet, but we hope to soon
*Our Wild Horizons* Thanks for this! Can't wait for More. Oh Have a good day! :d
Thank you very much! :)
Wow, it really is beautiful up there! I'm not sure I like you going near edges though Betty!😬
it is isn't it :) haha that wasn't even the worst edge! I trust my balance :D
“....buuuuttt Muuuuuuuum” :-) x

Nice
Thank you!
Hi whats the 2nd place you guys went to?
Bamford Edge is the name of the walk I believe. It's such a lovely place and if you get lucky with the parking on the lay by up the hill it's not even that long of a walk. Thanks for watching!
Good video , nice couple , sweet lass ;-)
Thank you! :)
How long did you spend at Peak District?
We stayed there for a week just to enjoy it all slowly but you could manage it in a couple of days 😊
@@OurWildHorizons-JakeAdv oh thank you, I’m planning just a day trip, do you think we could manage to see a lot in a whole day?
Oh yeah, you could definitely see all 3 in one day and some extra things just be prepared for a packed day!
Nice , please spell the places name
That's a good idea, we'll do that more often! Thank you.
Why does everyone seem to think that the Peak District starts and stops with the southern White Peak area? Come and explore the Dark Peak, just as good views and walks but the hills are a bit higher.
Any spots you’d recommend? I searched dark peak into google maps but it just comes up with the area around Mam Tor. Thanks for tuning in, we can’t wait to explore more of the park next time 😊
@@OurWildHorizons-JakeAdv While I haven't anywhere specific to suggest Edale provides access to Kinder Scout which as well as being the start of the Penine Way also provides a few local routes. Also there is quite a good book, Photographing the Peak District which splits the dark Peak and the White Peak into several areas and suggests various walks in each area.
