  • A comparison between the Seymour Duncan Antiquity II The 60's Myth For Mustang pickups and the stock Fender Player Mustang pickups. On the Seymour Duncan pickup one of the pole pieces was not working (shown at the end of the video) and so the second string wasn't as loud. I don't recommend these pickups. #seymourduncan #guitarmods #fenderplayer

I really dont recommend these pickups. As shown at 3:40 one of the pole pieces was dead from the packet brand new. So the second string wasn't as loud as it should have been. Neck amzn.to/3NSnh40 Bridge amzn.to/3DHbq4l

Did you not watch to the end, dead pole? I like the sound of the stock pickups better. Fralin makes 3 versions for the Mustang. From what I've heard there is no difference between Strat and Mustang pickups other than the mounts. Wonder if that's true.

Hi man, do you happen to know how much these cost back when they first released? Its about 800 on the site now....just want to know if i overpayed lmao

800 is way to steep, they're only about USD$218 on sweetwater for a set right now. I paid about USD$250 for both pickups individually, the bridge I bought through Reverb and the Neck on amazon both about $125 each

You'll know if you overpaid by going to reverb, looking for the guitar and then checking the sold listings. My guess, of you paid $800, yes, you paid too much.
I had a Mustang 90, they were, new, $499. You could get them used for $350 all day. Then the price went up. Then up again. People we're paying $699 for them. What. They they went up to $749 or something like that. $750 for a.guiyar, that 2 years previous, was $500 new. Just wow. It wasn't worth anymore than the $350-$400 they were selling for used. Let alone the increased prices.
While yours isn't the MP90, I doubt it was worth anywhere near the $800 mark, used. New, I still doubt it. The Mustang is awesome, but without the proper switching it's not a true mustang. That's part of it's charm. The added circuitry will affect tone as well. Better or worse, is subjective but not a true mustang is objective. Anyways, reverb will tell you if you've overpaid.

@@bciecko1 i actually have the offset series mustang(olive green) and the burgundy mist p90(like the one in this video)...paid around 450 in 2019 for the olive one...paid 750 for the burgundy player mustang (only because it's my favorite color)....fender probably raised the prices cause technically it's part of the player line now

@@bciecko1 I'd never buy the used crap on Reverb. Wayyy too many scams and counterfeits, also the legit people who claim their instruments are "good" condition is laughable. So no, I'll stick to Sweetwater and Chicago Music Exchange. They're making more money than Reverb for good reason
