I always like Mr. Fix it even if he wasn't the strongest hero I like the fact that they kept him working the same way they just strengthened it a little bit by adding abilities on to both the styles and tools
One of the biggest thematic changes to me has been how the tools are handled. In the Enhanced Edition, whatever tool you are using gets returned to your hand once a new tool is played, eventually giving you a “Swiss army knife” hand of cards. It kind of feels like Fixer has an arsenal of ersatz kung fu weapons on standby, but the designers have said that was never the intention. He’s supposed to just be grabbing whatever happens to be nearby and turning everyday objects into weapons, then tossing them away when he’s done. Although I miss my Swiss Army knife, I think the new deck portrays their vision of the character much better.
Yeah the tradeoff of playing the tools doing cool stuff and way better styles I think definitely makes up for it, but it sometimes feels bad not having the right tool for every job.
That’s what his power is for. Your suppose to plan ahead and grab a tool that you think you will need. Also every time he searches out his tool he thins his deck.
Black Fist is my favorite because Summon plays from Trash or Deck, so you can set up much quicker and you also don't need to worry about losing your Styles in hand, as you can just Summon them back whenever (making them great discard fodder for anything that requires discarding).
@@szassegamestabletop It also allows you to play a Tool from hand during your Play Phase, and then get a Style out before the attack goes through. So you have both a Tool and Style out when you smack someone.
My absolute favorite Hero to play. I loved his endless utility in Enhanced Edition, and he is still as flexible in Definitive. When playing against the Fey Court, I was able to deal an insane 95 damage in one turn by having to discard my 19 card hand due to a Bond, dealing 1 damage for each card discarded due to a fighting style, and having all of my damage buffed by 4 due to my other cards. In. Sane.
Also due to his manifold path card and his harmony card, he can get set up really quickly, and tools now doing a thing upon entering play makes him much more active now and it encourages Dark Watch Fixer to break his own stuff more if you plan on switching up soon anyways.
The only issue I have with Fixer is that after swapping his tools a bunch, he runs out of tools in his deck, and just about all his cards that get tools only Collect or Discover them. So they are very sad in the trash until you find one of his cards that puts them back into hand or deck. Well, that and it not feeling very satisfying to swap styles most of the time because you don't get an immediate effect like you do with the tools.
Getting stabbed through the heart where he was already stabbed being a "notable defeat" is funny, since it really does nothing to the poor zombie man.
Finally got my own preorder and I'm really enjoying the game thanks for your videos
Congratulations! Hope you have tons of fun!

I just got my rook city set today.
Very happy to get to play against Apex and PlageRat.
Very cool.
Nice! Both fights are pretty cool

Dark Watch M.Fixer goes perfectly with Setback: he just have to destroy one of his unlucky cards to use his power. Good synergy.
It works way too well. The combo is practically unbeatable

He's on my list to try, haven't gotten enough games yet

Haha wow that is a lot! We had Spite at -4 damage dealt all the time due to reactions and hoist chain ahha. He is definitely a powerhouse.
@@szassegamestabletop Jack Handle is amazing against villains with lots of minions

Please do a deep diver on the new Fanatic alternate style from Brook City.
She only has 10 hit points an ability to come back if everyone repents.
A quick hint: Insanely strong on bosses that hit highest HP
