    I have a vague memory of going to see Lee Majors at a local shopping center because he was "on tour" promoting the 6 million $ man, handing out and signing those 8x10 glossy photo souvenirs. The themes in Cabaret are disturbing, it seems they were trying to make almost a Kubrick style film.... I loved 8 mm and Mr. Brooks, both super under-rated!

      Hi. Haha, that would have been cool to have met him and got a signed photo. A fun series, I will enjoy a bit of a nostalgic rewatch….Yes, Cabaret is unsettling in a way….i thought I may have seen Mr Brooks before but I haven’t rated it so maybe not. Thanks for watching

      Hi Deon. Sounds like you are in 80s tv heaven right now. I certainly used to watch the Incredible Hulk, Airwolf and the A Team but maybe only ever occasional episodes of Jake and the Farman and Ironside. I don’t think I’ve ever seen any of Diagnosis Murder

    I just got Cabaret mysself. I have only seen it once, as a small small child in a drive in theater. I don't remember a thing about it other than I think my sister and I spent more than half the movie at the little play area the theater had. Look forward to seeing for real as an adult.
    Other great pickups... I bet those Six Million Dollar Mans will bring back memories if you saw the original series...

      Hi. Cabaret seems quite an unusual choice for a drive-in movie and also for children as its themes are quite adult. I admire the performances in it but it’s a difficult one for me to really like….It was definitely a surprise to find the Six Million Dollar Man. Fun nostalgia. Thanks for watching

    Hi Neil, I loved watching the Six Million Dollar Man show and had the figure too, if I recall correctly he came with a plastic car engine that he could life up 😂 8MM is a dark film 😬 Mr Brookes is an interesting film and an unusual project for Kevin Costner 🧐 nice pick ups mate, take care👍😃👍

    • @neilsmoviechannel3199

      Hi Alan, haha yes he could put that plastic car engine in his grip and then push the button on his back repeatedly so that he could lift it. Thanks for watching

    We once went to Phil Lynott's mum's house (our friends were friends of hers) during the annual Thin Lizzy Tribute weekend in Dublin. Philomena was such a lovely lady who loved to say 'feck' a lot. She had a room dedicated to Phil which contained an amazing juke box and a plethora of memorabilia and platinum records. Sadly she died a few years ago but she was always impeccably dressed when we saw her.

      Hi Jamie. That’s very cool that you had the opportunity to go to his mum’s house and meet her as well as see all that memorabilia. What a talent he was

    Hi Neil, Lots of hard to find DVD's it seems to me. I thought The Ultimate Crime Spree Collection had some good movies on it. The only one of these that I own is War and Peace. I like it real well. Your version of Diary of Anne Frank looks good too. I also remember seeing Heaven & Earth quite some time ago. I hope the rest of your week is great! Thanks for another enjoyable video.

      Hi Lita. Definitely some great movies on the crime spree collection but the quality of the prints on a number of them aren’t too good. That’s great that you have seen War & Piece. I still need to see the epic Russian version as well, which is on Criterion. Thanks for watching. Take care

    Another great haul! I actually had Seraphim Falls in a box to get rid of, but I’m pulling it back out convinced me to pull it out, lol. Hopefully I’ll enjoy it as well. But great haul, as always!

      Thanks Branden. It’s been a while since I last saw Seraphim Falls. I didn’t love it but I did think that for a western it went in some interesting directions. Hopefully I’ll enjoy the rewatch. Maybe we’ll end up comparing notes! Thanks for watching, enjoy the rest of your week

      Hi. I know I didn’t get the complete series but it will just be fun to see some of it for nostalgia. There’s definitely some great movies on the crime spree box set but the sound and picture copy on a number of them isn’t too good. Thanks for watching

      Hi. That’s fun that they are re-running it. It definitely put a smile on my face to find these two seasons and the memories it brought back both of the show and of the action figure. Thanks for watching

    Friday Night Lights is a good setup for the TV series (which surpasses it in every way for me) but a good watch nonetheless. Picked up LoneStar recently so needs to be watched soon. Whisper of the Heart definitely looks like The Cat Returns (one of the underrated Ghibli for me).
    You always manage to find such interesting collections :) Big Combo is a great watch.

      Thanks, Chris. Until the last couple of years I wasn’t in to buying TV shows but then started coming across many very cheap sets. As with my movies, my tv show watchlist is now absurd! Lone Star is a good one. I remember you praising The Cat Returns. I have The Big Combo as a stand alone dvd, along with several others that are on this big set. But for a couple of dollars it was worth getting the set for several that I haven’t seen. Have a good week. All the best

    I'm a sucker for vintage television shows and will pick up most from the 50's through the 70's. Haven't picked up or seen any Six Million Dollar Man seasons yet. I don't know what happened to Roland Joffe but most of his subsequent films did not receive very good reviews. I don't know Scenes Of The Crime but I will usually pick up anything with Jeff Bridges. The Crime Spree set has a lot of very good movies and it will be interesting to know how good the prints are. Happy watching.

    • @neilsmoviechannel3199
      @neilsmoviechannel3199  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi Randy. You’re the king of vintage TV shows as it seems you have all types from the 50s onwards, a number of which I haven’t heard of…..I feel like going down a Roland Joffe rabbit hole to see his lesser known films, but reviews would suggest it won’t be an enjoyable journey….Likewise Jeff Bridges name alone seems good reason to watch but I’m not familiar with this one….the Crime spree set definitely has some great titles but the quality on at least some of them isn’t great. Detour is a good example of a movie where I originally saw the public domain copy and didn’t really take to it but then when I rewatched it after its restoration it was a whole different experience, loved it. Hope you’re having a good week. All the best

    Great haul Neil. I often look at The Six Million Dollar dvd set but it's so expensive. I remember getting free with a comic (maybe 2000 ad) free stickers I stuck on my arms to make it look lime under my skin I was indeed bionic.

    • @neilsmoviechannel3199
      @neilsmoviechannel3199  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi Roy. It was definitely a surprise to find it. Typically I wouldn’t buy just a season or two of a TV series but in this case I’m just happy to see some of it for nostalgia….Haha, I think I remember those stickers. 2000 AD was a great comic too

    I always thought Jole Schumacher was an underrated director. I love Seraphim Falls even though the third act gets weird. Mr. Brooks is a solid film. I have a hard time getting into Rob Zombie movies I've tried many times.

      @neilsmoviechannel3199  2 месяца назад

      Hi. Thanks for your comments. Yes, Schumacher has had some ups and downs in his filmography but two of his that I particularly like are Tigerland and Falling Down. I haven’t paid much attention to Rob Zombie but have this one now and The Devil’s Rejects to try
