Id say there was some craic and ball busting with ur father and Uncle doing that job, ur uncle seems like a rare character , he definitely knows what hes doing
Well boys.. my 8730 ford has been under the knife for 2 years but....... New job on the horizon and I'm looking forward to getting her sorted and roaring into life again... so for me Yer year isn't to bad 😅.. glad to see and hear her again.. stay safe 🏴
Your father is a genius great video your Uncle looks a genius as well would love to see the chickens 🐔.At the show will be a wonderful day to see.Just great 👍 so good luck 😉.
I remember having a ride in one when I was a kid, 6 furrows in heavy clay land, she was shut down to tick over and still pulled like a train, and accelerated away when asked, great power 👌🏻💪🏼💪🏼👍🏻
Hi Phil, 3690 looks class , i remember a local contractor cutting silage with one , biggest tractor in Kildare at the time, you have to put front mudgards on it to finish it off
Sadly my old 3645 Dropped a bearing in the back end & locked up solid on the PTO shaft just hedge cutting after I put a 1000 rpm shaft in the back end 😭 so I understand what Father Phil is saying...
Hi Phil excellent video, nice to see your getting the backend issue sorted on the 3690 , she’ll be like a new tractor when you complete all the other work on her, I noticed the exhaust rain cap is worn , might want to change it , incase it comes off in the field 👍
Monster!!!!!!! She is one hell of a tractor can't wait to see and hear her working again....... Tell us just how many tractors do you own, running or not running, what's up with that old 590.....👍👍👍👍👍
Ye should invest in a chain block a few slings and shackles. Could hang half shafts and mite make it easier to align. Great to see her near back in action
Goodman phil, great see the 3690 back and its getting fixed up, great too have help too get the mechanic jobs done, will be money well spent, dont be worrying bout deadlines, its greats your showing us jobs that we dont usually see, keep videos coming
As for the pto shaft you only drop the bearings if you remove the sleeve that the pto shaft slides into (have to unbolt to do that) you’ll do no harm removing the circlip and swapping the shaft I do it regularly
Great video , great craic , " how many mechanics does it take to change a seal ? " we'd all be lost with out a fr. Phil great knowledge to have around the yard
Huge job on a mighty machine ... what did the tractor cost first day and what's its value now after a big investment, but the two main mechanics are some thing else working in tough enough conditions but not a bother on them ...this farming game is not for the fainthearted and our city cousins are not aware of what farmers must do to survive ... great video ( as usual ) showing the raw naked face of working the land ...
A nice plug for your local dealer D&E Mc Hugh nice lads i went to secondary school with all 3 of them back when they sold Leyland New Holland and Fiat.
Great to see the 3690 back out. Can’t wait to see her in action. You made a wise decision with the dromone hitch. It’s not something you want to take the chance on 🙈
Great video, lots of skill, knowledge & experience on show… did you get a replacement cab mount in Murphy’s when you were there? Looking forward to the next session of fixing-up the 3690… go the whole hog and out front links onto it. Keep up the good work.
Just 2 quick facts, the 3690 originally had no 540 option (too many horses), and there was an option for the 1000 shaft to be 750 with different gearing inside (I measured on our 3680 with a magnet and a "Turns Counter" app and turns out it is the 750 version actually, despite 1000 stamped on the shaft itself)
You were saying about changing the 6 spline shaft to a 21 on the 3690 to run the square baler. Can you not just change the baler PTO shaft from a 21 to 6?
That's why they weren't arguing so haha I think you collecting the 3690 with mothers other brother in the truck was one of the first videos I watched as a subscriber
There’s 2 shafts for these. Have to swap them so it uses a different set of gears inside. You can get a 540 shaft that used the 1000 gears. So basically 6 spline 1000 shaft
Id say there was some craic and ball busting with ur father and Uncle doing that job, ur uncle seems like a rare character , he definitely knows what hes doing

Great to see the 3690 making a return Father Phil looking for the camera that's something I never thought I would see.

I don’t know what I like the most the tractor or your Leary shirt.

What did you remove to change the shaft, the inner or the outer retaining clip?
Great video Phil, no shortage of mechanical knowledge & experience between your uncle & “father Phil”. Enjoyed watching 👍🏼

Try Tommy Joe Burke at Burke west oil, does a serious job on cab restoration.
We’ve had a busy Sunday so we are going to sit down with our favourite farmers in the world 🌎.Good luck 🍀 🍀👍👍👍👍💟💟💟
I met up with father Phil in ballybrittas tractor run was chatting with him what a gentleman chat about the 1200 and the one that was there

Oh savage, be great to see her in fully working order, some machine
I feel for you, what with the flooded fields, bad weather and all. I hope you have have
an easier time from now on.
That tractor is such a beautiful orchestra!!!
Ye should invest in a chain block a few slings and shackles. Could hang half shafts and mite make it easier to align.

Thats a good 1 not so long ago father Phil was saying put that camera down and now he's mad looking for it😂😂he was right though
You ve a great taste in tractors mate I’ll give u tat 👏🏼
As for the pto shaft you only drop the bearings if you remove the sleeve that the pto shaft slides into (have to unbolt to do that) you’ll do no harm removing the circlip and swapping the shaft I do it regularly
Remove smaller circlip to swap pro shaft around. 2 bearings on sleeve
Brilliant video, father Phil really enjoying himself, great mechanics at work there.
Great work 👍father phil and your uncle are great mechanics
Great video. Looking forward to her running again
Father Phil and ur uncle well done . Leave a camera the next time on a job like this

Great video Phil it will be good to get her back jaysus I missed her some sound from the engine
Lot of mechanical skill on show here!!,great video as always Phil, top class farming content.
I’ve done them seals on my 8130 pretty sure I only took one trumpet of not too bad of a job having the dynashift out was more technical 😂
Full restoration deserved for that gem of a tractor..awesome
Super happy for you to see the big girl going again and for you getting the shiny new hitch to go on it. Top video
Brilliant video really enjoyed every minute, father Phil brilliant as always, we take it that's father Phil brother, Brilliant pair. 👍

He needs to do more cameos. Father Phil and d' uncle on the spanners. Twud be box office.
Great video , great craic , " how many mechanics does it take to change a seal ? " we'd all be lost with out a fr. Phil great knowledge to have around the yard
Mighty work Everybody, well wear with the new hitch Phil, hopefully she will be making a few pound for You again soon a fine ball of a tractor👌👍🙏😎

Good video Phil. You should check out a trakjak for that job. A very safe way to remove wheels. Stay safe and......gluk
A nice plug for your local dealer D&E Mc Hugh nice lads i went to secondary school with all 3 of them back when they sold Leyland New Holland and Fiat.
Lovely fellas
Love the maintenance videos or machinery videos
Hi Phil with all those repairs done she should be good till the end of time
….. to you …. to me ….. to you ….. 😂😂. A brilliant video well done everyone 👌👌👌
Great video, lots of skill, knowledge & experience on show
Great job anyway, lucky having 2 mechanics for the job :)
Nice one Phil, no pain no gain
Great to hear her purr again 💥
You getting the tractor back in working order is very nice to see
I've changed t shaft serval times in my 3645 neva had a issue.
Tell the father that
Same As that. I’ve rebuilt pto in my 3690. Him saying bearings could drop or ball fall out is rubbish talk.
Great video Phil,. Dad and Uncle smashing it.
Great to see the 3690 back out. Can’t wait to see her in action. You made a wise decision with the dromone hitch. It’s not something you want to take the chance on 🙈
Its always good when zz top member is in the team 😂😂
You need Massey Dave the 1200 man to get that cab in shape
Great video Phil.
Would love to see video of the job on front axle too
Great video, lots of skill, knowledge & experience on show… did you get a replacement cab mount in Murphy’s when you were there? Looking forward to the next session of fixing-up the 3690… go the whole hog and out front links onto it. Keep up the good work.
if ye want the cab done right surely Cyril Hanna is the man
Well done team, well deserved for the tractor 👍
Just 2 quick facts, the 3690 originally had no 540 option (too many horses), and there was an option for the 1000 shaft to be 750 with different gearing inside (I measured on our 3680 with a magnet and a "Turns Counter" app and turns out it is the 750 version actually, despite 1000 stamped on the shaft itself)
We all want to see it on the big square baler just pull the shaft.
Hi Phil pros and cons to the mitsuishi l200, great vid as usual.
Great job 👏
A trak-Jack would be a great investment for yous 👌🏻 good stuff
You were saying about changing the 6 spline shaft to a 21 on the 3690 to run the square baler. Can you not just change the baler PTO shaft from a 21 to 6?
The shaft on the baler is a solid bar. I suppose I could try change the cross and put a 6 spline in instead
@@FARMERPHIL3690 👍
@@FARMERPHIL3690get her done Phil n get her hooked on the 36 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@ghostrider7688 it would be some roar of it pulling the baler!
@@FarmersSss he’d be getting hire pure for the sounds n looks 💨
Great video phil is it mother Phil's brother or father Phil's brother great to watch them 😊
Mother Phil’s brother
That's why they weren't arguing so haha I think you collecting the 3690 with mothers other brother in the truck was one of the first videos I watched as a subscriber
@@gerardmcdonald2534 I remember that sir . I think this is the same man
Good video farmer Phil
After surgery the 3690 should be like a new tractor, than the 2725
The best tractor on the farm :)
Is the 6480 next in line? Be a good tractor for bro😊😊
i really enjoyed that video
Send the 3690 down to me Phil I’ll leave her like new for ya .
Don't change the shaft on the tractor get a new shaft on the bailer
@Phil n Father 🖕🏽THIS 👆🏼
Exactly
It’s only takes 30 seconds to change shafts in them
Phil why don't you get the 1000 shaft that goes on to the 540 like a pto shaft we use to use one on a 2650 John Deere to drive a 3765 harvester
There’s 2 shafts for these. Have to swap them so it uses a different set of gears inside. You can get a 540 shaft that used the 1000 gears. So basically 6 spline 1000 shaft
arent there adapters that fit on to the 540 shaft that will convert to 1000
Yes but that gets you from 6 to 21 spline but not up to 1000 rpm
The ants doesn’t make it spin at a 1000 rpm. You can buy a 6 spline 1000 shaft. Has 6 splines but spins at 1000rpm
Just to help you out Phil.. don’t park your machinery with your peat there is something in the peat that will eat away at the metal
could it be moisture maybe?
@@kieranosullivan02
I don’t know Kieran. But a fitter in a BNM plant told me it will eat away at steel.

Phil make it like grassmens one pls it will look closer
19:07 I've never seen that before (not)
When are you going to fix the loader tractor .? Keep seeing it in the yard .
Nice ol Ferg there Phil - how many hours has the 3690 done?
9200hr
Well Phil, would you ever consider putting solid rims on the 3690?
Far sooner have the original weighted centre pvat rims
I’ve a pair of 34” solids for mine. I put 38” valmet rims on it as well
Hey Phil, how's the work on the house going? Have you made any progress? The hubby is so pleased your working on 3690
Have been to busy to do much with the house lately probably be a winter’s project
Anny update on the mr 2 ??? 😢
nice vid
Are they all leaky or is it just Massey and JCB's
Is the 595 for sale
who is the new mechanic ?
That’s Mother Phil’s bro . Not his first rodeo . He’s been on before ⚙️🛠️🔧
N what happened Robert ? Won’t he work no more
@@Jamesgreene337he's around some days too. both do a bit around their own mechanic jobs
Could you not use a bolt on 540 to 1000 adapter
That’s doesn’t make it spin at a 1000 rpm
Is that a Autotronic or a Dina shift.
More cattle videos phil
What speed does the 3690 go
38k
👍🙂
