Star Wars is and always has been a fandom that's strength is the creative passion of fans. Corporations only know greed and no longer create. Than you for bringing Dark Empire to life again!!!!
Just getting better with every episode. It’s also such an amazing gateway to this particular story, and-admittedly-I actually like your stylistic approach more than the original comics (mind-blowing as they were for my ten-year-old self when it originally released).
Seeing the battle of Mon Calamari come alive...magic. I remember reading this in the mid 90s, before the Special Editions - let alone the prequels - and could only dream we'd see this for real in animation. The Nelvana-style animation from the Holiday special works magnificently with Cam's style. I honestly do not know how you managed that! Although I think I might have said this before? Urgh, getting old I think. But regardless you deserve praise for your incredible effort once again. Tom Veitch passed away? I honestly did not know. Definitely getting old...
Can't believe RUclips is only recommending me these animations now after years, even though I've been a crack addict for Star Wars, and especially Dark Empire for most of my life. Phenomenal work, I wish you great success.
Haha yeah! In the comics they didn’t paint it (makes sense so you can at least try to use it covertly) but for my adaptation I thought it’d be fun for it to be full blown rebel themed
I love the inspiration taken from previous animated star wars cartoons, including the holiday special. The style feels like Star Wars, with all its pulpy classic sci fi fun.
Your animation has improved. This looks really great. I like the Rebel/New Republic star destroyer a lot; the ship itself isn’t evil, it’s the people using it.
Something that Disney will never do is having the New Republic use captured star destroyers in their Navy. You did very well with the space battle with Lando in the Star Destroyer it was awesome. And it was cool inserting Jaxxon in as Lando's crew
I cannot emphasize enough how much of a big dumb grin I got on my face when I saw this in my notifications. I love these animations so much, there just aren't words. Well done!
After being disappointed with the Sequel Trilogy, watching Episode 1 of your project on the day it was uploaded brought me a feeling of Star Wars joy I hadn't felt for years. As a fan of Dark Empire comic, this animated series feels even more special to me. I wished to see Dark Empire animated one day, but I also knew it had almost 0 chances of happening... Talented fans can indeed make dreams come true, haha.
i love this series so much its so cool to see loved the entrance by Lando Calrision and mediately blows up the star destroyer out of hyperspace really cool.
We might not live a timeline where an official animated Dark Empire exists, but man am I happy to live in a timeline with this fan work that is of the same quality! I hope you'll finish the series :)
This is awesome! I like how you added in some elements from Canon like the U-Wings and the X-Wing POV of exiting hyperspace like in Rogue One! Also, is that Bugs Bunny working on the Rebel Star Destroyer? 🐰 Anyway, can’t wait to see part 2!!! May the Force be with you! 👏👏👏👏
Bro, I'm 2 minutes into this film and your animation crafstmanship has elevated tenfold! Immaculate lip sync and expressions, fantastic timing and character mannerism, impressive 3D modeling. You are brilliang. Hoping Disney will see it and hire you. Pronto!
Oh man, I can’t wait to see the rest of the episodes! You do amazing animation work! It’s so detailed, it’s actually higher quality to me than most of what you find on the streaming services
So great to see a true sequel trilogy be brought to life like this. Great job! And yes, truly a tragedy what happened to Tom Veitch. He passed too soon.
This looks fantastic! Previous works have already looked great, but this is on even higher level of awesomeness. The progress is clearly visible and looks gorgeous. :D
Man I've been waiting for this for a long while. So glad to see it coming to fruition. Love that the animation is improving with the motion and 3d assets
Your work is amazing and is truly inspiring. I would come back to this while working on my own Star Wars Fan Project so that I would know that the years of effort would result in something special. Fantastic work.
Before I ask a question, I want to say this first. It is based on a work based on the setting of Star Wars Legends, but there are some differences from the original. It looks great because it changes in a good way. Back to the question, I would like to know if the emperor's full name in this work is "Palpatine" as in Legend or "Sheev Palpatine" as in Cannon. I look forward to better works by working hard in the future.
Since I’m using the audio drama from the 90’s as my base for the dialogue and much of the effects, I can’t change how the characters refer to the emperor. I’m fairly sure they just call him the emperor throughout. The only changes I make are ones that are visual, or I chop out some parts of the audio drama for the sake of pacing. So I add in references to elements from the current cannon that I enjoy, or pull designs that I find were fun, because why not! So my adaption is kinda it’s own thing. Doesn’t fit into the legends or Disney canons because it has elements of both.
@SpikeyTortoise I also think this is a fresh reinterpretation of you, Cannon or Legends, so I don't care. I'm just grateful to you for allowing me to see such a wonderful work. By the way, my question has nothing to do with how other characters refer to the emperor. I'm just curious about what you think the full name of the emperor in your work is, Palpatine or Sheev Palpatine. This isn't that I judge your work is Cannon or Legends. I know that it's not an important question, but I'm just curious about your opinion. May the force be with you, always!

Thank goodness, for a moment I feared that your channel was gone 🥺
Ngl ... wilkingsanimations was a better name
Thanks for the info! For a moment I thought that Wilkins Animations channel was gone. Good that it was just rebranded, haha.
You're gonna need a nickname. I'm not saying that everytime. 🤔😂
PART 2.
All of us are truly spoiled if we get great content like this, please keep up guys I truly hope you all good luck in the future.
Thanks!
I hope George Lucas would be proud
You jinxed it
Love your art, feels exactly like an old cartoon. Very nostalgic.
Thank you!

Same here, I read the first Dark Empire comic back in early 90's, this is really clean and involving 🙂

Looks like the rebels had Excellent paint job well done on the Imperial Star Destroyer LOL
Haha yeah! In the comics they didn’t paint it (makes sense so you can at least try to use it covertly) but for my adaptation I thought it’d be fun for it to be full blown rebel themed
Oh Umm……I understand that I apologize but I really like these Rebel Ships in Star Wars
@@SpikeyTortoise I think you made the right choice, easy to discern who is who in the battle and would make an awesome Rebel Alliance SW toy! ;-)
Same
I love the inspiration taken from previous animated star wars cartoons, including the holiday special. The style feels like Star Wars, with all its pulpy classic sci fi fun.
I haven't seen that Rabbit since the comics from the 70's!
Your animation has improved. This looks really great. I like the Rebel/New Republic star destroyer a lot; the ship itself isn’t evil, it’s the people using it.
Thanks! Glad folks like the rebel destroyer
I NR used many ISDs.
One of the reasons I fell in love with this series is because of the drawn-by-hand style, so I am a bit uncertain about the CGI.
That was amazing! I swear this series gets better everytime, felt like I was watching a recording of an actual series!
Glad to hear it!
Exciting!!! So happy to see this pop up!
Really great stuff! Some amazing voice acting and animation!! Can’t wait to see part 2!
Thanks!
Absolutely incredible work! The Jaxxon cameo was a fun touch lol
The Lepi is a great touch!
That was some gripping space combat action! Really well done! Glad to see Billy D Williams continues to reprise Lando as well!
That's from the audio drama that Billy Dee voiced in the 90s
@@deadshot5007 Still cool though.
This is the best Star Wars being made today.
Superb.
AMAZING job on Lando. You made him look extremely heroic and competent. That is good art
This is hands down the best Star Wars animated series ever made.
Something that Disney will never do is having the New Republic use captured star destroyers in their Navy. You did very well with the space battle with Lando in the Star Destroyer it was awesome. And it was cool inserting Jaxxon in as Lando's crew
I also liked the inclusion of a Twi'lek, an Ithorian and a Bothan
I'm at a lost for words. Been following you drawing this chapter. Beautiful.
I'm glad the character models and animation have improved, keep up the good work!
This is incredible! The Lando voice acting is spot on!
that's because it is Lando (Billy D Williams)
@@FHT1883 that would explain it then!

These animation styles feel very nostalgic and add a nice effect to the dark empire storyline, cant wait to see future videos
i love this series so much its so cool to see loved the entrance by Lando Calrision and mediately blows up the star destroyer out of hyperspace really cool.
Ian, this is amazing. Keep up! Your Scottish pal from Concordia :)
Heyy! Thanks! Hope you’re well!
Amazing!!! Can't wait for part 2!! Keep the good work, man!
Wow the fact that this doesn’t have 15 million views right now really upsets me, this deserves it and much more
We might not live a timeline where an official animated Dark Empire exists, but man am I happy to live in a timeline with this fan work that is of the same quality! I hope you'll finish the series :)
This is amazing. Great job to all involved! Especially the music and animation.
Yay!! This is amazing! Many thanks to you and all worked on this! Congrats on a fine episode! 🎉🎉Looking forward to the next one!! 🤗😎👍
After getting to see you work on this for a while I'm glad to see it out!
This channel is glorious. Thank you so much.
It is awesome to see how your style and skill grows between each episode. Looking forward to more! Keep it up!
Thanks a ton!
For a Star Wars animation this has shockingly little Star Wars music and I'm digging it, feels just like reading the Comic!
This is awesome! I like how you added in some elements from Canon like the U-Wings and the X-Wing POV of exiting hyperspace like in Rogue One! Also, is that Bugs Bunny working on the Rebel Star Destroyer? 🐰
Anyway, can’t wait to see part 2!!! May the Force be with you! 👏👏👏👏
it's an easter egg: Jaxxon the Rabbit is from the 19970s Marvel Star Wars comic series
*1970s
A pleasure to watch, clean sharp improvements, fluid storytelling - Thanks you for the hard work! Looking forward to Dark Empire Ep. 3 Part 2 ^_^
I love how old this feels. Worth the wait. Great job!

I'm glad!
It’s always a pleasure to see one of my favorite movie novels
Nice cameo by Jaxxon!

Oh this goes HARD! The VAs are phenomenal!
This is amazing!!! You have to finish this. I loved everything (except that rabbit). Wow!!! This is Star wars!!!
XD the rabbit is a deep cut to the old Starwars comics
incredible, i really hope more people get to see this
Yoo, let's go dude. I slept on this animation for a while and now I decided to see what's up. Sick content man
There's something really cool about seeing U wings in Dark Empire hahaha
Seems oddly fitting
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one!
Wish we could have seen some E wing action but seeing MC-75’s and U wing transports is pretty cool as well
I really hope you continue this. It’s amazing!!
I will! Rn got my hands full with work, but soon there will be more
This made my day so much, you are the absolute best for this
Glad you enjoyed it!
I absolutely love this! I also can't wait to see E Wings in action!
Amazing animation, that really supports the book material, looking forward to more of The Battle for Calamari.
INCREDIBLE WORK! This was the highlight of today!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love this. If you released each video as one long compilation movie after finishing this series I would literally pay money for it
I've been a patron for years, it's totally worth it. I love his work!
Wow the animation is so good. This has been a joy to watch. And will continue to be. Will be waiting patiently for the next part.
This is the Star Wars content us fans have been waiting for. Thank you
Great job. This is exciting! That guy sounds little Billy Dee. Keep going.
It is Billy Dee! All voices are form audio recordings made for the audio drama of dark empire and he reprised the role
Kriff, this was incredible!!
Great detail adding the U-wings
Thanks a ton!
It was awesome watching you draw this live, hope to see the next part soon!

Great animation!
This is incredible, I just subbed!!!
Absolute masterpiece as always!

If only LucasArts had people like you and DarthAngelus in charge of Star Wars we could be in the middle of a golden age. Keep up the great work dude
