I too was a control freak and had to plan every little detail. This mindset helped me reach a lot of goals before my diagnosis, and it was a piece of my pride and identity. However, I’ve learned so many valuable lessons in life thanks to my experiences with AS and the conversations in our communities. Change can be good for the soul. I always leave feeling a little better after watching your videos. Thank you so much for the work you do!
That’s the hardest part for me too! Never knowing how sick I’m gonna be from one day to the next. Some days I wake up “ok” and days like today, I woke up with horrible sickness and pain :(
For me, it's the uncertainty of a medication working for more than a few months. In a bit over 2 years, I've been on 3 oral meds, 4 biologics, and am beginning infusions... from daily meds to once weekly to every other week to two infusions over two weeks, then (maybe) those lasting six months... we shall see! I can't wait for your webinar❤❤❤
Hi there, so the goal for rheumatoid arthritis is typically to get on the right combination of medications so that you don't have any major flare ups. Sometimes it takes some trial and error, and sometimes even on a good medication you'll have a small or short flare up due to other issues (like travel, not sleeping well enough, overdoing it with physical activity, etc). I hope that helps!
@ArthritisLife yes it helps..I am on the methotrexate and so far no side affects . I completely change my diet ..no flour etc...and no sugar and mostly salads ..wild rice..quinoa chicken breast n salmon.. addition to that I use glucosamine n omega 3 black( green lipped mussel) and very regularly massage with castor and virgin coconut oil..that work very well with inflammation in joints

Thank you so much for your thoughtful response, and I totally resonate with what you said about learning to be more flexible after your diagnosis

I relate to this so much! ❤
Thank you for sharing - you are not alone!
This is great advice and I agree wholeheartedly. RA disease is so "out of the blue"..How can I sign up for the workshop? 😊
Hi! Thank you so much - I just added a link to sign up in the video description, or you can go to Bit.ly/chronic24 :-)
How often you get flare up??? I am in my first year of diagnosis of R/A
