My wife was hospitalized due to severe dehydration, doctor advised hospitalization and admitted her. The Star health insurance company rejected the claim saying the hospitalization was not necessary. This was a network hospital of Star Health. The doctor wrote a two page reconsideration letter but Star Health again rejected the claim stating the same reason. Now we have to pay all the hospital bills out of our pockets. We have submitted our complaint to the Grievance Department but they have again rejected the claim stating the same reason. I am not able to understand who will decide if a patient needs hospitalization, the treating doctor or the insurance company's medical team ?? Please suggest what is the next step I should take?? We have submitted all the Original copies of the supporting documents to the Insurance company.

मै आपका सवाल सही से नहीं समझ पाया हूँ। मै chance के बारे मे तो जबाब नहीं दे सकता, लेकिन यदि बीमा क्लेम के विषय मे सही से पुरी जानकारी मिले तो मै बीमा नियमों के अनुसार क्लेम admissibility के बारे मे स्थिति को बता सकता हूँ।
यदि आप Driving license के बारे में पूछना चाह रहे है तो आपकी जानकारी के लिए बता दूँ की मोटर OD insurance policy में एक term Driver clause होती है। मतलब वाहन चलाते समय गाड़ी मालिक बीमा धारक ग्राहक की सहमति से जो व्यक्ति गाड़ी चला रहा है उस पर उस वाहन के लिए valid and effective Driving license होना चाहिए।
ICICI Lombard ka toh kabhi mat Lena aksar reject hote hai.chhote claim pass kr dete hai.

How can a premium of around 28000 go up to 71350 in one year itself without any kind of claims since around 5 plus years????concept of insurance seems dicey then.
