    wow, love it. im in the process of building old shed as coop and then building a simple run but nothing around the fence line due to city regulations and zoning :( i also love that beehive going on. any tips on having on in backyard? i'm also not sure if i'm allergic if i get stung! though i have frontyard native garden with pollinators.

    I am learning so much from this channel! What is the purpose of the black plastic sheeting around the bottom half of the wooden fence? Thanks for sharing.

    • @ianmburke
      @ianmburke  2 года назад

      That was to keep the wind off of the baby chick's and also the small openings in the fence the chick's could fit through and so could snakes. So to keep them safe I baby proofed it for the first few months

    This is so cool and neat. Are the walls of the coop also plastic?

    • @ianmburke
      @ianmburke  Год назад +1

      Yes they are! The shed itself is all plastic

      @@ianmburke About to set up mine this week. Wish I could get those plastic panels and shed but they're either not available where I am or pricy. But definitely using PVC pipes for the roost bars now that I've seen yours work. Also picked up a few other tips. Thanks for for the inspiration

      @@ianmburke Another question please. What is the exact name of the PVC panels/boards used for the shelves/platforms. I need to know what to ask for at the store so they don't give me something else that isn't strong enough to carry the weight of the chickens or one that breaks/bends in a snap

    1. Do you ever rest man? 2. Are you planning to put any 1x for the ramps? 3. We need names for these chicks. 4. I think they need temps in the 40/50's for warmth...wild guess..maybe a thermometer in there?

      First day off of the week was today and I put in 12 hours straight! My wife says I'm like a border collie but for building/doing stuff. I just can't stop. So to answer
      1. No I don't 😂
      2. That was the project I finished this evening (little rungs on the ramps)
      3. I'm sure they'll have names soon
      4. I have a thermostatic relay switch for the heat light but I don't think they'll mind the temps as the water will act as a regulator for the the interior temps but we'll see!
      Thanks for following along 🙌
