- A Black Lives Matter defund the police rally was disrupted by a group of right-wing counter protesters, Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020, at the American Legion Park in Lodi. There was a heavy police presence and the rally ended without incident.

@@bodasdan3209 They don't need as much as they get. I work in a town of 20,000 people. The PD has a tank. There's never been a reason for it & they can't train all their officers to use it properly anyway. Just a simple example of how the police take too much, and things they don't need.

I'm an african american myself and I don't mind the protests. But in my little community that I live in, I've seen blm protests and police help to the community. From the police side they've taken kids shopping to Walmart alowed me personally to take a ride in the fire truck and a bunch of other stuff.
The blm crowd have taken to the corner on a street with five people at most and protested there.
This isn't made up I have to tell the truth here!!! Where's the blm crowd when my aunt got shot at? She needed help.
I'm super glad that these brave folk are standing up against racism in our country and willing to put the government in place. But instead of getting rid of the police help the get rid of the evil ones that are in the system.

We were not made to live in quarters like all the black kids I went to school with did whose parents worked for damn near nothing. What would happen if a black family had moved in next to you say 20 yrs ago? Every week we see a new killing of an unarmed black person by cops and you don’t think there is racism? Wow.

I was growing up with a single mom struggling to pay bills, in a diverse community(not the hood, the county). Biracial couples werent uncommon, cuz racism was NOT an issue then. It is a lie being pushed onto us, & it's outta control--ppl are dying over these lies! Kids have been killed & it hasnt stopped, yet!! Telling young kids to see ppl as different, to be offended, to find hate where it doesnt exist. Telling biracial kids to deny & be ashamed of their white heritage--we see bi & multiracial celebrities coming out with this crap all the time trying to prove their blkness. I went to a predominantly blk community college with a Confederate flag tattooed on my shoulder--It was extremely visible, but NO ONE saw it as hate & no one cared. We discussed Obama's election(some loved it & others saw it as a damn joke, but we talked about it without yelling, arguing, or fighting)?! I'm not some ghetto chick from the hood. I'm country as hell & we all got along just fine--cuz we werent looking for hate.

Finally some calm in the storm. The other comments were triggering me. Everyone clings to their side, when in reality we should recognize each other and try to build each other up as Americans. I’m black and fall in the middle of this. I love freedom and what this country stands for and how far we’ve come, but there’s definitely some racist energy coming from the right and the left has a bunch of anarchist... so idk. Why can’t we ditch the political parties and labels and just be good people.
