Who would ever think you could build flute 🪈 out of PVC pipe I'm amazed thanks for sharing with everyone.
Glad you liked it!
It turned out good it looks and sounds cool as hell
Thank you. This was very informative. You probably could attach the other notes ( tones ) and just mute them by placing a temporary cap or plug in them until you need them for a performance.
A very practical guide. I have one i bought for left handed player and can get some sound. Your plan is well structured and also takes into account safety features. Well done and thank you for sharing.
I am glad you like this pan flute!...I was wondering how it will be perceived!
This video is a good learning tool. The instructions are clear and complete. Very useful. Thank you.

I can't thank you enough for this wonderful positive feedback!. Thanks a lot
@@VIDEOEPPO I was wrong. I spoke incorrectly. Please consider this my humble apology. . .and good luck with your future.

im ngl I ripped the sound of your video for my school physics project and i synced it with my playing so I got n A thank you sm!!
Glad I could help!
Your presentation of this DIY was great. Constant flow of good info and it was explained very clearly.
Im gonna try it now, but my PVC is only 1/4". Lol
Nice comment thanks. 1/4 pvc?...hmmm...
It's not available here ...
Thank you!, the best instructions and hints that I've seen. I have made 2 for my grandson using other instructions, but yours are much easier to follow in sizing.
I am glad it was useful. Thanks a lot for taking time to comment
I had a blast making my pan flute. The sound is a bit off but practice makes perfect right?! Made it for my couzins birthday gift and he loved it 👍
Thanks man!
Wow, I am happy for you man!. Have a blast!
This helps alot thanks
Glad it helped
While Hot Glue works and is cheaper to use, I found that Super Glue Gel works even better and looks nicer. Also super Glue a US penny to the bottom instead of using foam works well. You may have to shorten the tube a little though.
Very good suggestion!. Thanks a ton
Cool 🎉
👍👍🌹🌹 Amazing Great great
Hi could you tell me how long to cut to make c note
Great video! Thanks so much!
thank you
hi i was wondering why when i blow into the pipe no sound comes out it’s just like wind no cool sounfs
practice with a pen cap first. Learn the technique and apply it to the pan flute. Hope that was helpful
How exactly are you tuning? What do you do to change the note if it isn't quite right?
I just move the cork up and down. measure and mark the length and cut the rest
Is there a set distance apart to make each note, as in a 1/4 shorter piece than the next piece? If not, do you have to use a tuner to cut each piece accurately for the pan flute? Thanks so much for the information on this. I plan on trying this out and to see if I can come close to making it in tune from the get go. Again, thanks for sharing this video.
experts may have the details of the diameter-to-length ratio. I was doing it by ear and using a tuner. I would push the cork inside the tube. Then blow air to check the note. I would push the cork for either end till I got the right note. Then I would measure the inside length of the tube. I don't note it. Just using a skewer to mark out the inside length. Then, simply add the width of the cork to this. This mark is where you cut the tube without affecting the bottom cork. Voila!...One not is ready....repeat the process for next note on your scale
thank you so much. Very helpful indeed!!!🎉
NICE BRO
Thank you bro, good job!!!
Glad you like this pvc pan flute!
No B sharp brother.....😁
Informative.
welcome!
Does the diameter matter? I live outside of the States and the smallest diameter of PVC I have is 15mm.
It doesn't matter doesn't matter. It may produce a different pitch that's all.
@@VIDEOEPPO yea I want to produce the same notes so do I have to file them more or something? ty
Those of you who are studying:- there is a lot of physics behind this it is not complicated but easy "Google standing waves-closed organ pipes"
Thanks for the info!
i really like this video and i‘m thinking about building this too. I have a question, whats the name of the black material you used at min. 2:57 ? I did‘nt understood how its called. 😅
Its foam. Used to make slippers. I got a new sheet for making props for my kids. But use can contact local slipper makers and they will have left over pieces. Or else simply plug the holes using hot glue. It should work
thank you 🤗@@VIDEOEPPO
Why doesn’t mine make as clear a sound as urs
thank you so much. what are the measurements to get the right tones???
thanks for watching. Check the description pls. It has the details there
Can you please send me the exact measurements and the app you used please as quick as can be cause need to make this for a school project that is due this Friday please
It's already there in the discription. Pls check
The black stuff is floor mat foam
What is the measurements of different pieces
its given in the description
What is the black material you pushed the end into?
It is floor mat foam
Is it okay to use a styro foam instead of the floor mat foam
The lengh of the internal air column (x) is 1/4 of the wave lengh (L) minus 1/3 of the diameter of the tube:
x = L/4 - (1/3)*diameter
v=L.f ==> L = v/f
where:
v= 340 m/s (velocity of the sound on air at about 25⁰C)
f = the frequency you want (frequency of the notes, for example 440Hz for A-4)
He probably didn't took off the 1/3 of the diameter because the foam would do exactly that.
wow!, that is too scientific. thanks so much
My plesure, but I just build a flute using that formula and I got every note a little lower than it should be. But you can tune locating the foam up.
So, these things go out of tune when you change the temperature?
isit better when it is curved or strait
Its easy to play when it curved.
Hello sir if u already have made C major Pan flute thn How much Are the prices??
In which software you edit video please tell me
Where can I buy the foam you used? I saw you bought floor mat foam but where did you buy it, i don’t want to buy the wrong one
It's called floor Matt foam. I bought it from a local vendor but it is also available online. Or some slipper makers will have similar kind of stuff
Does the diameter have to be 11mm?
not required. Work the pitch(notes...) according to the diameter of the pipe you are using
So do your measurements have to compensate for the length of the material you use to block the ends?
The measurement is only the hollow part. For example for Diameter 11 mm length for A - 87 mm. The pipe should be blocked after 87 mm
Can I make everyone 2.5 centimeters (width)
I will be be too big. Not sure if it will sound correct
why it doesn't work (For Mine)
Please try to blow through a pen cap or a closed narrow tube and get the sound correct. This will help you troubleshoot the pan flute. Pan flute works similarly but with various pitches. There could be an air leak in the tube. Try dipping the individual tubes in a glass of water and blow through it. If it bubbles, there is an air leak and it must be corrected. Hope this helps. Good luck!
how do you think it would work with metal pipe?
It would be as same. The physics is similar. But cutting metal pipes wouldn't be easy
What kind of PVC pipe is this? Like.. what’s the thickness I should buy??
They come in a standard size. It's better to use the plumbing PVC. Thickness is around 2 mm
Superb sir!
Hi. Could you give the length of each of your.pipes,?
What tuner did you use man?
a free tuner app. There are lots of them on app store
Would like to know the length in inches not millimeters
hey there, thanks for watching my video!!!
regarding your question, you can always convert the measurement in google conversion.
I measured in millimeter so that I could make fine adjustments in tuning
I like your video! What did you use to tune each pipe? Did you put beeswax or parfin wax in them?
I didn't know such a method exists actually...(what I did was intuitive , here is what I did. )
I would push the foam stopper in the bottom of the pipe up or down and tune it. Once I get it right, I would measure the difference in length, push the foam back to it place and then cut of the excess. Filing the tubes was helping me get the tuning right. PVC is forgiving so we can file it quickly
@@VIDEOEPPOI have read that in bamboo ones they use the beeswax so that if you want to change the tuning there's a method of heating it up to get the wax out so you can change the notes.
@@withnoe That's something I am learning today. Thanks a lot
Where did you get the foam for the ends? What is it called?
@@withnoe it's floor mat foam. It is also used to make slippers here in India.
Hello. Thank you! Can you tell me the name of the black foam that you used to cover the bottom part of the pipe? I couldn't understand what you called it on the video. Thank you for making this.
Its a floor mat foam. Its a kind of foam that is used for making slippers as well. Any old yoga mat could be used too. Hope that clears your doubts.
Thanks for stopping by.
Thank you, thank you!

How much would be total price
You can make this in under 50 rupees... All you need is a piece of 1/2 inch PVC pipe.. or any pipe of similar kind. You could even use old board markers. Just try and experiment with the pith and you should be able to make a pan flute easily
what size pvc
I used Half inch PVC. Hey, check the description. It has all of the details. Thanks for the comment
Great
Need pan flute
Its really easy to make... but a bit hard to play. SO try making one...practice before buying one
30 cm upvc pipe ka flute kaise banayen
hi Santosh, maine uske liye ek alag video banaaya hai, usey dekhiye

When your customers service representative gets a second job.
It would be great if you could understand what he was saying. Talking to fast
I tried to be as slow as possible!
Hii

Hmmm..... If only you could actually play the thing. No musician here!
Interesting. Because of your accent, you need to slow down your speaking. You talk so fast I could hardly understand you.
yeah, lots of people have told that. It sounds a lot better now. Thank you for pointing it out.
@@VIDEOEPPO Ignore this comment. if people want to listen to you slower, they can click on settings (the gear symbol at the bottom of the video) and slow it down. I actually speed things up, because it allows me to view more videos in less time.
@@100daysmic9 I didn't know that such a feature exists!!!. Thank you so much
