What if my measure is a % value, not a # value? Each bar label displays the % for that segment, but adding the 'total %' displays the label near the middle of the stacked bar instead of the end, since it's using the same axis.
Hi Mark, thanks for checking out this video. I'm not really clear on what your issue is. Are you doing a dual axis with both a % and a #? Feel free to shoot me an invite and message on LinkedIn if you want so I can get a visual on it: www.linkedin.com/in/eric-parker-37513249/
awesome! what if I want to have a all labels displayed in a stacked column chart along with the total but when filtered to single category then only display either the label or the total reference line; is there a way to ?
That's a great question. I'd probably recommend the dual axis bar chart solution instead of the reference line solution for your situation. You can check out a quick solution I put together here: public.tableau.com/app/profile/eric.parker/viz/DualAxisStackedBarTotalLabel/Title?publish=yes
Great tip Eric! Thanks for showing both the approaches and I loved the second one. I have one question : can we modify the default behaviour of selecting items in multiple dropdown in Tableau ? By default we select any item by clicking on the checkbox but if we want to select the item by clicking on the item itself like modern web forms, is it something that's not feasible in Tableau with the help of some workaround? Thanks for bringing such high valued quick tips in Tableau!
Hi Swagatam. Thank you! Unfortunately, the way that multiple value select filters works in Tableau is pretty inflexible. Does something like this provide the flexibility you need? www.thedataschool.co.uk/alessandro-costanzo/quick-tableau-tip-how-to-create-filter-buttons-for-your-dashboard
@@onenumbertableau Thanks for sharing this article! It's really nice to apply filters using buttons in that way but I think for dimensions with lot of values it's not that much useful. But,thanks once again for sharing such a cool article in quick time.

excuse me sir, how could you record the video and make annotations directly like that? what app was it?
I used Zoom to record and the free tool Zoomit to screen annotate.
