Though I have to agree that yeah, many jee students do just have only knowledge to learn how to crack the jee exam and not understand PCM as a whole, many I think who actually end up scoring a good score, do need to go to the root level to really be able to solve the complex questions, for without basic concepts being absolutely clear, it is impossible to crack advanced, atleast from my point of view.
i have a alternate view on second point in board exams to get full marks we have to make sure we have done 100% syllabus but if we talk about jee advanced we dont have to prepare 100% syllabus but 55 to 65 % is eough a good example is my own cousin who cracked jee advanced with AIR6500 by only doing 60% syllabus (he got 80% marks in boards and barely cleared jee main cut off). i am right now in 12th and preparing for jee at the end of 11th i did not complete 100% (in chem i left whole organic bec my coachig teaches whole organic properly in 12th) and as a result i ended u performing really badly also we have additional subject lke computer science and biology if we are preparing for jee how can we spend time studing these subjects.

I heard your advice and now I completely changed my mindset and I would not neglect my board examinations any longer. Once again, I would again like to thank you sir for posting such wonderful videos on the RUclips which makes my time that I spend on RUclips actually worth it.

Actually sir many a times a person who knows his concepts well does not score as good due to the format of the exams and the correction style. For example I have lost a considerable amount of marks in the school exams because I did not vomit the definitions word to word, even though the meanings were exactly the same. Also it being a subjective exam the marks you get also depends on the teacher correcting the papers for example in mathematics I had never scored less than 78/80 in the 10 years of my schooling( almost as far as I can remember) . But this year I scored marks like 71/80 and 60/80 not because I suddenly lost all my skills but because the teacher expected an unrealistic amount of steps to be written and did not want anything other than the method she had in the solution book. Also I lost 1/2 of a marks just because i wrote a solution set as {1 ,-1} instead of {-1,1} ( no it was not supposed to be ordered).
Sir, Pehle na video nikalna tha... I already ruined my boards (on my defense : I did break my leg back in December.. SO i didn't study properly for 2 months since I was in bed rest and the painkillers made me sleep 14 to 15 hrs a day)

Hi Sir just a question. Does the board percentage of 12th carry slightly higher importance than 10th board examinations. I have heard 12th board examinations marks have more gravity however like you said in the video in the PHD entrance level interview since the panel asks about introduction via boards how does it impact the panel if the candidate has a decent percentage in 10th(I mean 85-88 percent ) and has excellent results in 12th. Also for academic line other than boards does college also matter ? Overall what matters. (if you could say or make a video it would be helpful)
moreover, if you couldnt crack the comp exams; you can get into a college better than or eqivalant to IITs abroad if you have excelllent gpa in high school i.e, good marks in your 9th to 12th WITH scholarships upto 100% AND without any comp exam!!

I wish I received this video a year ago. Yesterday my PCM subjects were over. I messed up Maths(I know I would have scored 10-12 Marks more time factor and nervousness upon seeing a few not solvable questions ruined both my time and confidence for others. And physics- it's know how the paper was! But I'm still confident that I would score 75%+ needed as criteria. I just loved your comparison with that of cricket. The day after physics I understood that my 90% dream is gone. Now will try to give improvement in July for securing 90+ in PCM. And would work hard to get IIT/tier 1 college this year or the other. Now I left all those things/distractions that tied me.
As a first year student of IIT Kharagpur myself, I can definitely say that it is not even tough to score more than 95% in Boards while you are preparing for JEE. I cracked JEE in the first attempt, with a four digit rank and had 97.4% in WB boards. One of my friends even scored 97.6% in the same, and he also had three digit ranks in both JEE Mains and Advnaced, in case someone thinks getting a good grade in JEE and boards simultaneously is not possible. So see, it's not tough at all! And I was not someone who studied 15 hours everyday since the 11th. And also whatever Sir said, is correct, and I have heard these from other teachers too. So, yes. Don't neglect Boards!
@@bodiminds6571 Well it's a lot more about the importance than learning. Also a lot of people fails to understand many concepts as they lack the very primary concepts. Sometimes teachers in the JEE course assume that you already know the primary things, which you may don't if you don't prepare for Boards at all. I have seen this happening with many of my classmates. They neglected boards and ended up with terrible results in Boards and JEE.
In board exam descriptive answer comes and in competitive exam short tricks are applied that's why when u prepared with short trick and apply it in boards then they won't give us marks but answer remains same , so from my point of view i think atlast we are all result oriented then we should give correct to those who did short cut but at last answer comes

Though I have to agree that yeah, many jee students do just have only knowledge to learn how to crack the jee exam and not understand PCM as a whole, many I think who actually end up scoring a good score, do need to go to the root level to really be able to solve the complex questions, for without basic concepts being absolutely clear, it is impossible to crack advanced, atleast from my point of view.
i have a alternate view on second point
in board exams to get full marks we have to make sure we have done 100% syllabus but if we talk about jee advanced we dont have to prepare 100% syllabus but 55 to 65 % is eough a good example is my own cousin who cracked jee advanced with AIR6500 by only doing 60% syllabus (he got 80% marks in boards and barely cleared jee main cut off).
i am right now in 12th and preparing for jee at the end of 11th i did not complete 100%
(in chem i left whole organic bec my coachig teaches whole organic properly in 12th)
and as a result i ended u performing really badly also we have additional subject lke computer science and biology if we are preparing for jee how can we spend time studing these subjects.
Ha to 12th ke saath jee advanced exam compulsory kyun kar rakha hai.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for sharing such wonderful advice. Its been a year since I started my JEE preparation and all my so called scholar peers convinced me that if I neglect the boards and only learn the tips and tricks,( like for example, in Fluid mechanics, I would ignore the derivation of Bernoulli's Theorm and only learn the shortcut) I would excel in the JEE examinations and I would be succesful in life. I heard your advice and now I completely changed my mindset and I would not neglect my board examinations any longer.
Once again, I would again like to thank you sir for posting such wonderful videos on the RUclips which makes my time that I spend on RUclips actually worth it.
So in conclusion we need to change this stupid education system.
So true I also want to leave india. Only reservation no education no skill building

In jee exam there is a minimum percentage of 75 to be scored to get admission In any college
@@sardarji162yes but it is for 12th not fir 10th. iit knows that 10th marks cannot decide one's talent and future.
moreover, if you couldnt crack the comp exams; you can get into a college better than or eqivalant to IITs abroad if you have excelllent gpa in high school i.e, good marks in your 9th to 12th WITH scholarships upto 100% AND without any comp exam!!

Its very difficult to reach till international level as only 5 students are selected . it has multiple stages which occur in this order, IOQM-sep or aug, RMO-octo-november ,INMO- jan ,camp-april-may . so if in the time of class 10th should i prepare for 10th boards seriously . my parents told me they would not allow me to prepare for anything other than boards in that year.

Point no. 2 is true.
So you are going to give improvement exam????
Probably yes
But why ? You already have crossed 75 criteria needed. Why improvement now ?
It's not about 75. It's about atleast 90.
So, yes. Don't neglect Boards!
i still didnt understand how a school type of learning helps in the undergraduate level ?
@@bodiminds6571 Well it's a lot more about the importance than learning. Also a lot of people fails to understand many concepts as they lack the very primary concepts. Sometimes teachers in the JEE course assume that you already know the primary things, which you may don't if you don't prepare for Boards at all. I have seen this happening with many of my classmates. They neglected boards and ended up with terrible results in Boards and JEE.
