I stayed there last time I was in London, around the exact same time as your stay, and didn't find the hotel bad at all, especially for the price. Maybe it's because I have Diamond status and got upgraded to a nicer room and received better-than-average treatment in the restaurant and bar. Yes, the hallways and room bathrooms felt dated, but overall, I found the hotel and staff quite pleasant. The location was nice, with easy bus access and not too far of a walk to the tube station. The only downside was that the tube felt a little sketchy at night. I didn't feel unsafe, but there were a lot of people asking for money or trying to scam you. Nothing unusual for London or any big city in Europe or the USA, but very different from Chelsea Wharf, where I normally stay. Overall, I found it great for the price and would go back again.
I stay in Hilton hotels a lot for both work and pleasure. I agree some are better than others My favourites are Garden Inn Glasgow, Hilton Canary Wharf, Hilton Alicante. All worth a review. Each offers something different and special.
We stayed in a chain hotel in Reading once - it might have been a Hilton. Anyways we went in the room and there was the BIGGEST, JUICIEST most UPSET cockroach in the bath you ever did see. I reckon the previous occupant of the room had jetted in from Chernobyl with a stowaway. We changed rooms.....................so didn't really have time to rate the silicon finish or paint job in the room.
Another really good video. It's a shame because things could be a lot better if there was a bit of care and attention to maintenance and if the room was painted to a high standard to freshen things up. Glad the breakfast was good though! Looking forward to your review of the best Hilton in London when it is uploaded.
Thank you I really appreciate the support and the comments 😊 The strange thing is the best rated Hilton isn’t the most expensive and it’s only £30 per night more than this one 🤷🏻 Have a great weekend and catch you again soon 😄 🙌
I stayed in this hotel one night about 10 years ago. My room was in a similar condition to yours, small, a bit tired and run down. I asked to change rooms and was given a larger one that faced Kensington High Street. This looked a bit better than the first but then the problem was that the window wasn't double-glazed so you could hear plenty of external noise including police sirens. Breakfast was admittedly excellent but I wouldn't go back there. Premier Inns are much better, especially when they have the Premier Plus rooms. Hiltons in the UK vary a LOT. I can think of one priced at £130 a night where the underneath of the toilet had a suspicious brown smear! 😦
I stayed at the Hilton Kensington in Sept 2024 although minutes away from this location but a much more polished hotel. I’m taking my brother and his wife to London soon and was considering this location but will pass. I try to stay at a different Hilton on every visit, especially since I reached Diamond Status. Thanks for the video.
Hi thanks for sharing. Yes not worth the price charged and as you say, all those little niggles you highlighted(so easily remedied) matter! And that so called "view!" Have been in hotels where the central heating dials appear "faulty" leaving the room still too warm/cold! At least the window opened. The room looked tired/dated, but the kettle and sachets looked ok. But no biscuits!! Soundproofing in most hotels is poor and I try to spend as little time as possible in the room. The breakfast options looked good though! Looking forward to the "best" hotel review. Good vlog. 😊 👍
That is the scruffiest room I've ever seen in a Hilton. Not really in keeping with their reputation. Perhaps the noise next door was an axe attack. At least the breakfast was great :)
Hi Dave, tbh it sounded like something else was going on, but I didn’t think it would be wise to put that on the video (if you know what I mean)? 🤦😳😂 Thank you for watching and for your comment 🙌😁
The room was a bit tired and should be on their renovation list, but it wasn't so bad that I wouldn't stay there. I've been in worse. The a/c problem might have been fixable, or they could have moved you to another room. It certainly doesn't seem to deserve horrible reviews in Trip Advisor.
I stayed here many years ago, way before I even considered doing travel videos, have to agree, also stayed at the Hilton London Metropole, which is basically the same state, same issues, I find most Hiltons generally follow the same standard, prime locations, flashy exerior, very basic, worn out, dirty and broken rooms. I won't ever be staying at a Hilton again thats for sure.
Hi Ian, thank you for your comment. I’ll definitely avoid the London Metropole at all costs 😂 The best Hilton in London video will be out soon and it was a far superior hotel and one that I’d recommend if you ever decided to give the brand another chance 👍 Thank you for watching 😊
Try staying in the doubletree at bayswater rd, I paid £450 for the junior suite and it was awful, the window was held in with cellotape, then the tub chair in the room had doritos or something like that all over it, the wall had cocoa or some other brown liquid spilled down it, room service said they could only do a pizza even although there was a full night time menu, they refused to give me a non feather pillow, then breakfast was £19 each and it took me 20 plates to find a clean one! when I handed the stack of dirty plates to the waitress she just shrugged! Well the poor receptionist that asked me how my stay was, wasn't ready for the list of issues. At the time we owned 2 hotels and an event catering company, I would have been mortified if my hotel had been this bad. We were offered a free stay! not a refund an effing Free stay in a Sh*^te hole! I will never stay with Hilton again! The Mercure in Tarragona (hotel Aventura) is incredible and you can get a suite for €80 per night with a private roof terrace and kitchen! Hilton are a disgrace.
That sounds horrific and I’d be absolutely fuming 🤦♂️ The prices that hotels have been getting away with charging especially since Covid is ridiculous. Il have a look at the Mecure and give it a go, it sounds like great value 👍 Thank you for your comment and for watching 😁
H Ajs, I agree at £80 it’s probably not a bad deal. The problem with that though is atm it’s very rarely £80, especially on week nights where it’s often pushing closer to £200. I’m reviewing the best Hilton soon and it’s not much more than the Olympia in price per night 👀 Thank you for watching 👍😊
I haven’t been in a decent Hilton in over 10 years - the worst being the Birmingham NEC one which I swear is a repurposed Soviet prison: the toilet is literally in the room not a separate bathroom.
Hi, if you’re spending a decent amount of time in your room I’d be tempted to have a look at another option if you have a refundable rate? If not though don’t worry, I survived a night so you should be fine 😂 Have a great trip and thank you for watching 😊
Hi John surely you can’t be upset at me for giving my opinion if I’m using my hard earned money 🤷🏻 I just try to be honest Anyway thank you for watching and have a great weekend 😄

OMG!🤦
If I see cockroaches in my room or around the hotel I make sure to keep away from the restaurant and room service 😂
Agree I have stayed there but never paid over £100,Hilton’s I usually avoid they are not that good. Premier inn are better. Thanks for the review
Thank you for sharing your trip.

Hi Graeme, not much has changed then 😂
Thank you for sharing and have a great week 😁👍

Hi Alan, thank you again for the great comment and for watching. I really appreciate the support 🙌
Have a great Sunday 👍😊
You also. Keep videoing. 😊 👍
The way he calmly read the hallway review was hilarious.

It's often the best value Hilton in London, which is what I care about most of all. I've stayed there for £80 in the past.
H Ajs, I agree at £80 it’s probably not a bad deal.

loved this vlog !!
Thank you for watching 👍😁
Oh no, will be staying in the hotel next week for the Investec Champions Cup final.

No Way that was worth 160 pounds. Maybe its a franchise Hilton hotel??
Hi Andrew, and today agree even at £80 I wouldn’t have been particularly happy 🤦♂️😂
I’m not sure about the franchise.
Thank you for watching 😁
The best Hilton in London is the Hampton by Hilton at Park Royal
Hi Ben, it’s the highest rated 👀👍😁
Thank you for watching
Hilton Metropole In Central London is THE BEST …
Hi Robert, will give it a try 👍
I’ve not heard much about it tbh
Do the hotels ever see ur coments.
Hi, I’m not sure, but i wouldn’t stay in one that I’ve been negative about 🤦♂️ definitely wouldn’t eat breakfast 👀😂
Thank you for watching 😊
Came here for the laugh, after this selfish entitled review of the sleeper, what does he expect at that price too used to supreme class
Hi John surely you can’t be upset at me for giving my opinion if I’m using my hard earned money 🤷🏻
I just try to be honest
Anyway thank you for watching and have a great weekend 😄
