I had so much fun palying this. The 2nd violin and viola parts are very rich surprisingly! Such nice harmonious parts. Great performance. I love pieces where there are so much interactions with different duos and everyone has something to say. At 1:45 there is a part where strings have to play with the wood of their bow, it gives a nice clock vibe, we can see they are doing it, but it's a little bit shy imo. Great performance, one of the best!

Dieses Stück von Prokofjew ist eins der besten, das er komponiert hat, und ich finde es in beiden Versionen gleich gut. Das 2.Thema rührt mich jedesmal zu Tränen.

This piece is so much better with the small ensemble than it is for a full orchestra. When first asked to write the piece, he refused, saying he only liked to use original themes, but like with Beethoven and the Diabelli variations, the melodies got stuck in his head and he couldn't help himself. It's such a lovely piece, with humor and pathos; the small ensemble makes all the little details stand out, especially the clarinet and piano.

Wonderful performance; thank you for sharing, Yevgeny. Does anyone know if this piece has been used in media such as movies or TV? The first moment or two sound vaguely familiar.
