The Tome is a bit confusing for me and I was so excited for it. It works for some Sims but not for all and all of the different Sims have cooking, gourmet cooking and fishing as skills. Trying to figure out what actually gets all 3 skills to build at the same time.
I'm wondering if it's designed to only work if your Sim already has at least 1 of each skill it can raise to start with. Due to week 1 being something that mentioned or prepped us to have each skill started. I might have to check this theory with a Sim who has no skill in each. So sorry to hear it's not working on every Sim for you. I'll be doing some testing on this sometime today. I hope it begins to work for you soon or at the very least it becomes one of their many known glitches the Sims team has to fix on their list and they fix it asap. Thanks so much for the comment. ☺️
@@bottledupchai That's my theory as well. It's almost like it's supposed to carry on building the skill from where you left your Sim in week 1 and then up to where you built their skill in week 2. The last Sim I tested it on last night had similar skills to yours and all 3 worked but with my Sim that had higher skills, it didn't work at all. Going to try it with a new Sim later today and see if that theory works :). Let me know how it goes, and I will do the same :) Hopefully they release an updated explanation on how it works because I was so excited for this. There are not many items in this game where you can gain multiple skills at once so this would have been a cool thing if we knew how it worked lol😁
@TheSimsfunnies Definitely! I'll keep posted on any findings in how it works if I uncover anything. Maybe there will be tutorial notes on the item at some point in Carl's Guides or somewhere like that. Fingers crossed. 🤞😊
Found your video while looking for answers on the tome. When i read the book it said it was too high a level for me. I didn't have gourmet cooking at all. I picked it up for level 1 and have fishing 2, gardening 5, cooking 9. The book is still "too advanced". I agree, some instructions or better description would be nice. I looked on the "web" in game to see if I could learn more and that was an opportunity lost.
P.s. yes, 10 minutes in and I had noticed that you haven't shared what your sim looks like LOL
@@tabatha9577 It seems that a Sim needs to be level 4 on all three skills before gaining skill from the book. I also realized today that after level 8 on each skill no more skill is gained. I totally wish notes were left somewhere on this book in game. It would have been nice to know for less frustration. Ha ha!
I probably totally forgot to show my Sim since I talked about her in video one and showed so much of her then. I felt so odd not showing her much up close at all in the first half of this video. lol! 😊🤣

I just typed in "tome" into the search bar and it showed up after I claimed it. Let me know if it does. So sorry to hear you're having this issue. I hope it comes up for you.
Unfortunately reading the intro in The Green Lady's tome is not an option for me 😢
Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear this. ☹️ Are you at least level 4 in gourmet, regular cooking, and fishing? Maybe set the book on a counter and see if the option pops up?
ETA: i also noticed you commented on my week 2 video. Are you doing week 2 quests or week 3? It might not show up on week 2 quests yet. I hope you get to have the quest work for you.
@@bottledupchai I realized that the Sim had all of the skills except fishing. I am playing with 6 sims so I got a little mixed up 🤦🏾♀️ I will try to up the skill, and try again.
