I love IndiGo because of its on-time performance. It does not commit its passengers so much so that the bar becomes too high to achieve. It maintains its two big components for Indians- time and price.
Deccan Air was the first low cost no frills airline, it also had Airbus aircrafts, yet it failed. It would have been nice if you had compared Indigo's strategy with Deccan Air's strategy.
Indigo before venturing into airlines was a ticketing company. It was taking care of Air Deccan's ticketing. It stole the info of Air Deccan and started Indigo airlines.
@@paragvnit : what’s there to steal ……everything is open in the market …..Deccan was a no frills model and it succeeded because of cost cutting wherever possible and by doing so it made air travel accessible to the burgeoning indian middle class, whereas Kingfisher tried to provide service quality which was in between premium and economy class segment at competitive prices and did not succeed. This was the apparent reason behind its failure the non apparent could be many …
I like how Indigo quietly entered the market without much fanfare. Deccan had the first mover tag, kingfisher's image was associated with its flamboyant founder, Go Air was backed by a big business house. Indigo just started showing up on the booking websites, there was not grand story or identity connected to it. It continued that way, non-chalantly for a few years as it grew slowly and steadily.

Very informative case study. There are many airlines fall in Bangladesh market. There are Regent Airways, United airlines etc. Already running Novo Air facing profit loss problems.
Your english version is the best , I know you are struggling with Hindi alot , as you told in the podcast with ranveer, it's just that we have seen your podcast in english, that's what we are use to... One last feedback: you are the best youtuber..
Really awesome. I think ,Think School should make Hindi Videos as well.I have improved a lot from your case studies.... Really very good and like to watch more complex case studies form you.
8:42 their are many india one customer that don't use airline for travel as they don't need to go at any place so urgently as of now... But i am witnessing that this is changing So i think that their is more market going to be in upcoming years for aviation sector
The best strategy adopted by Indigo is asset lite model. It means no heavy investment nd no liabilities on BS. Thus no need for bank loan nd no interst burden...
Hi Think School this video is again a masterpiece as your other videos. I have followed you since last 2 years and tbh I have learnt more than my college by just these videos. Here's an interesting case study of big fail acquisition of 2 giant companies Please make a video on BAYER MONSANTO ACQUISITION OF $66B . HOPING TO SEE THIS VIDEO SOON
There are talks in the market that Indigo is going to procure Boeing 737 MAX which is prone to accidents. Suicidal to putting money on 737 MAX. Well explained bro. Nowadays the price of tickets have been hiked. Well explained bro. Awaiting more videos from your end as regards airline industry
Some more things to add here : 1. All female crew. Less take off weight, less fuel needed. 2. Faster TATs. Their planes turn back faster. Helps them achieving on time performance, less airport rents for parking, more money generated from these leased planes
This was a fantastic video and details were very well explained. Coming from a A320 experience I really liked the operational economics explained. Well done and feel free to connect if you guys need any information. Good going. 🎉
Indigo operates on a point to point basis and not hub and spoke model. Hub and spoke is generally used by full service carriers to feed passengers onto their bigger aircrafts for international flights
As a passenger indigo is everything that I stand against I have banned taking any flights on low cost carriers indigo is when I checked is a low cost carrier. Last year I spent 8.5 lakhs in flight ticket in full service airline. But as an investor and my knowledge on airline being an avgeek Indigo looks promising I put my money on indigo and made profits.
Great video. In-depth knowledge. But I really wish there should be competition in the air industry. Shut airlines should be given relaxation by Indian government
IndiGo is in a position where it can launch a full service carrier for international long haul services . . . a subsidiary airline . . . a IndiGo full service carrier will be just as sustainable as it's existing low-cost budget airline . . . IndiGo is India's version of Emirates . . .
Congratulations for starting the Hindi Podcast, few observations which might be of some use 1) while showing the new clips, use more clips of the Hindi News Channel, People will relate more 2) while addressing the Hindi Audience use works like "aap" "aapko", the Hindi audience will really connect with that & 3) 1st time I have noticed you have left the topic without explaining the reason in debt.
Indigo’s monopoly is dictating passenger harassment. From stalled plans on taxi to pilots denying additional flying hours or their ground staff having not customer centric behaviour. It’s a matter of time when people would change to other airlines for metro cities. It’s only tier 2 cities where people don’t have a choice that they would have wait for other operators to start.
Their cabin crew, especially from NE. If the flight is half empty they demand to see boarding pass from window seat pax, as if we are travelling in a city transport bus, which Indigo actually is. Monopoly breeds arrogance.
Great video! I’ve been following Think School since I was 17. However, I unsubscribed when they started getting involved in political drama and their content became biased. Now, I'm subscribing again with the hope that, since this channel is powered by Zerodha, the content will stay unbiased and free from political discussions, at least on this channel.
Hi, i would like to mention that Indigo ALSO has some old models of a320, which were very less efficient, as those were made with pratt and Whitney engines. But later airbus made one more very efficient model of a320, i.e. a320neo.
Aapatti se mauka nahi hota dear aapda se awasar hota he😅 Aap mujhse review karwa liya karo video aapko theek lage to since I am a Hindi medium guy and studied Hindi using English books I won’t charge you since you are doing great work
Indigo was a good airline in the initial years it had good customer service, being on time reputation as well as good pricing of it's tickets. We need to know that once any company tastes success it is next on the ambition to grow. While growing it forgets customers, it's perception it had initially and being socially ethically responsible to the customer. Thats what happened to Indigo it forgot to maintain its consistency in how it was initially perceived by the customer. The very same customer who initially lauded the airline now prefers another airline. Growth, market share and profitability will always replace customer satisfaction, ethics and consistency of customer perception. But indigo has been smart in how it does business thats why they are able to sustain in such a volatile aviation market.
You missed out their passion for ON TIME performance. They were always on time. Thats what peoplewanted. Plus they saved fuel by painting their aircrafts white.. Also abolished the inflight magazine and reduced the cushion in the seats to paper thin, and were the first to use the step trolley for faster turnarounds instead of the aero bridge!!!
Sir par ek doubt hain ki Jo indigo ne kuch saal ke liye rent pe liya aur uska kiraya wo dete hain aapne kaha is video mein PR INDIGO NE JO RENT PE LIYA TO KAB TAK UNKE PAAS RENT PE RAHEGA YA LIFETIME WO RENT PR HI RAKH SAKTE HAIN KABHI KHAREED NHI SAKTE PLANE KO ? PLS UNDERSTAND MY DOUBT KI MAIN KYA POOCH NA CHAHA RHA HU , THAN OLS REPLY

For ex: Enhancing the customer experience of movie screening from low standard single screen theatres to premium multiplex theatres Avg standard passenger mobility services by state transport units vs premium service by private players Other trains vs Vande Bharat train
Indigo is no more low cost airline. I am a regular traveller most of time I compare prices with vistara and air india, indigo prices are equal to or Greater than. For international they are charging even more than world number 1 qatar airways.

I travel with ryannair regularly in EU. i can say Indigo can become the ryannair for Asian continent 🙌
Indigo is far better than Ryanair pls don't compare it with low cost yet low standards airlines
Same applies with car brands as well where the quality couldnt survive because of people preference over other things.
really nice try in hindi... from English to hindi we are here❤

IndiGo deserves this success....
