It was great to see Maria Orska 🌹(1893-1930) in a small part as ballerina Barberina Campanini. I’ve only watched her before in Die Schwarze Loo (1917) with Bruno Kastner and Theodor Loos. Maria had a tragic life with morphine addiction and multiple suicide attempts before finally and tragically taking her own life in 1930 using the drug Veronal. Eva May 🌹(1902-1924) who plays heartbroken Princess Amalie at the end of this episode was the daughter of Mia May 🌹and director Joe May. Tragically, she committed suicide after director Fritz Mandl refused to marry her as she had a turbulent life, being married three times and attempting suicide after her then boyfriend Rudolf Seiber married Marlene Dietrich.

Arzen Cserépy was my grandfather's uncle. How did you get access to this film?

To be honest, I don't remember. I get sent so many things by different people. But the logo suggests that this particular episode was probably online at some point.
