Thank you for another great video. We're off to Moab later this month for Bronco Off-Roadeo event with couple days for hiking & more wheeling too. Good on ya Jordan!
I'll be in Moab at the end of June with my wildtrak. I would love to try Fins 'N Things but so nervous about it! I haven't really been off roading much since my CJ7 days so I am very out of practice. Thank you for the video! It helps so much!
First off, I own a 2023 Black Diamond 4-door so I was interested in seeing how a Bronco would handle Moab. I hope this video is overstating the necessary equipment for a Bronco to do this trail. Why? Because I have done Fins and Things twice in my 2013 Jeep Wrangler with only a front swaybar disconnect and 32" tires. No lift, no lockers, and no problems on the trail. I did one bypass of a more difficult section, but that's it.
These are recommendations and not hard and fast rules. Many variables come into play on a trail that can change what may be "necessary" to complete the trail. Have fun on the trails!
Looks like a good time. Well done! I'll want to do Fins And Things the next time I'm in Moab. Do all of the trails have the BLM centerline for reference? Looks like there are a lot of blind rises on the trail. How often did you need the forward-facing camera to get your bearings? Does the trail app recommend the best time of day to drive any given trail?
Hi Chris! It all depends on the last time someone was able to mark the trail but most of the trails have "You are Here" map signs and at least some faded center line markings. I find the forward camera to be helpful at times but I don't rely on it.
@@broncosport4thewin thanks, Melissa! I appreciate that. I remember looking for the centerline marks while attending the Off-Roadeo, although most of the time you can use the tire marks as a crude guide.
Hey Chris! This Bronco is not equipped with the front facing camera so didn't have the luxury of using it. I often employee the "park, get out, and look" technique haha just to mentally see where I'm going.
@@TheBroncoNation smart move either way as your eyes are a more reliable indicator of what lies ahead! I’m speaking from sheer laziness, but I would certainly “dismount” and check for myself if I had the slightest doubt about what I’m in store for. I appreciate your feedback!
I’m planning on driving to Moab from Austin the end of August. This looks like a good route for my level. I’ll be going solo and first time in Moab. Do recommend getting a guide to drive along with me?
Hey Ron! Sounds like an awesome trip! It'll all depend on your comfort level. Personally, I don't think a guide is necessary for Fins 'N Things, especially if you take the "easier" selection of routes, but everyone is different so do what makes you feel the best!
@@TheBroncoNation thank you! Do you know if there is cell signal along the route? I’m thinking of getting either FRS or GMSR radio anyway, but nice to have access if I need to log back into the new trail app to record.
@@ronbbaker We've had pretty strong cell service on various parts of the trial. Not everywhere, but many places. It is also a well trafficked trail and close to town, so pretty to easy to locate someone if needed.
I was able to run the entire route last Monday. I was able to tag along with a modified Jeep and 4Runnner, which helped with my confidence seeing their line (although the Toyota had to retry several places without the same clearance. These are different obstacles than I’ve had in Texas and NC, and a couple uphills were initially intimidating. The Bronco handled them all easily and the Jeep lead was really impressed (said something about a new second vehicle). Thanks for the helpful scouting report! I also did Poughkeepsie Gulch in Ouray on Thursday. Awesome trip!

Awesome video! Planning on doing this in the summer
Sweet! Let us know how it goes.
We just got back from Moab yesterday. Did Hells Revenge in a UTV. Wish I had my Wildtrak with us. Fins looks like a lot of fun.
Love to hear it! You'll have to try and get the WildTrak out there at some point!

Yes! We did it without rockslides, but we are on 37in tires!

What are those fog lights? They look more red than amber...
They are the Heretic Fog Light Kit and they are in amber! It's a pretty deep amber but they are indeed amber :)
what color did you wrap for the bronco?
It is matte military green!
