sometimes it is achieved by Grace of Shiva without too much effort. It only depends on the state of one's karma and especially on viveka and how insightful the intellect is. sometimes bhakti can be so pure that it leads directly into one-pointedness of jnana. yet, let's not delude ourselves to think it is the same as achieving jivanmukti. but what it effectively is is the seed of liberation that has been planted. and will need space, time and nourishment to grow. or else, the brass pot that is not regularly cleaned and polished will lose its shine and become green or black. the world will obscure the light that comes from within by getting in between.
sushupti is a state with prevalence of tamas, therefore it is not enlightening experience. in nirvikalpa samadhi is just pure awareness, the wakefullness without any object of awareness is revealed as the nature of Light itself. the bliss is not experienced, the bliss itself IS THAT.

That's nirvikalpa samadhi. But as already said here, if you go in and out of it, then it's seemingly temporary. But really, that samadhi is you, so how can you really lose it.
