Just went back to school after 10 years to get a degree in English in secondary ed. First semester back and I can't stress enough the danger concealed in this ideology. Piper is dead on and his anger is COMPLETELY relatable. I thank the Lord for His word and His truth every week because it keeps my head on straight. If I'd continued with this degree with where I was spiritually right out of high school... can't imagine what I'd be teaching my poor students right now. Relativists are some of the most clever, eloquent people you will come across. And they're stuck. Caught in the devil's snare. Pray for them.

I once tried to evangelize a relativist, and in broad daylight, 10 in the morning, he would insist it is night. That is lack of sound rationality and as bible says "Their thinking became worthless."
Sort of like saying the objective Bible both affirms and denies homosexuality? Piper is an irrationalist.

This is a wonderful take on relativism relative to the bible.
Piper's view of the Bible is itself relativism.
@@ThomasCranmer1959 *But it's like indoctrination. We're all indoctrinated and will always be.* The difference and problem is if the doctrine is sane and sound within the absolute truth from God, or subjective relative half truth from the world.
Relativism, in the most basic sense, is at its heart an attempt to justify unethical, immoral, or perversion of the natural behaviors, laws, and structures according to personal desire. It falls apart at the first volley, which often leads to utter rage from the poor soul attempting to cling to it

That’s the law of comparables not relative, John MacArthur is not my relative in the flesh, we are adoptive family. (Of course am kidding) but comparable to me in stature, maybe; but in knowledge of Theology we are close to Incomparable, much less relativistic!

I can't stand John Piper. He needs to study logic. The Bible is propositional revelation and God is Logic. John 1:1. There is no way anyone can read the objective word of God in the Holy Scriptures and come to the conclusion that homosexual activity between two males or between two females is not a sin. Piper's view would make the Bible an objective and irrational book. Does God breathe out lies and contradictions? I think not. Leviticus 18:22.
That is how I heard that, John P was in the introduction of this vid presentation , giving an example of how someone may say something like that , and stated it as how two people may have diametrically opposed viewpoints on the issue ...one saying it's acceptable another saying the bible says it's not acceptable. According to relativists, if there was no measurable and objective criteria, both could stand to be right. John P did not say what you say, the bible is clear in scriptures in the bible about that issue on of the two males given here as an example.
@@Vuyisile-bw7ux Piper equivocates all the time. Either there is a universal and objective moral law of God, or the truth changes from one person to the next. Which is it?
Here is something absolute: Gods word is kjv. All others are relativistic.

You realize of course that is was originally written in Hebrew? Why is it you think the 16th century English translation is implicitly more authoritative?
