@@jaketylenol depends on the story. For instance adventure 1 largely being about echidna society yet knuckles isn't really he lead and plays the role of support in the climax.
So the rumors are true. Knuckles is barely in the show or the run time is overrun by unnecessary human characters. This truly is a kangaroo Jack moment.

If it was too expensive to have Knuckles and the other CGI Sonic characters in the show, then they should have just made this show either a CGI or hand drawn animated series.

@@ike.0037While I do agree that I prefer animation when it comes to Sonic and other properties like it over live-action, I will say that at least the movies (mainly Sonic 2) for the most part were able to make the CGI characters front and center while the humans were secondary. Yes we have the wedding subplot, which I have issues with myself, but it doesn't take up the entire movie like some out their seem to think it is.
It isnt an excuse, Knuckles as far as I can tell is the only cgi thing in this show aside from the guest appearances of Sonic and Tails and that mech at the end, the sonic mocies made big bucks and you are telling me they still haven't figured out the cgi crap already? They are cowards.
This would have been a good introduction for Rouge the bat. Which is knuckle's rival Because she's a treasure hunter on the side The emeralds

I'm 33 and I still have yet to see kangaroo jack . That shit has NEVER had an ounce of appeal for me. And your telling me the kangaroo isn't even the star?
The ads made it seem like it was about a rapping kangaroo. That's just a hallucination. The actual movie is two dummies chasing a regular kangaroo that hopped off with their bag of mob money.

Nope. There was only a short scene where Jerry O'Conner's character went on a hallucinative vibe. Imagining Jack was talking and dancing. But the real Jack behaved like a real bad CGI Kangaroo. Well, in scenes he showed up in that is.

I’m in my mid thirties and it is true that knuckles can be very scare sometimes. Despite the lack of appearances from knuckles. I thoroughly enjoyed the show. The cop character ark was amazing to me. There are many people in this world that has been face with challenges because of the fear of the unknown. Despite a fear it’s incredible to see someone persevere and take on and defeat a challenge. I related a lot to the cop character because even as an adult I still stumble and bump my head sometimes but what is important is that I keep trying. Your super power is only limited to how many times are willing to keep trying despite the numerous failed attempts. Keep going ! Thanks for the vid

Tom occupies the same place as Chris in my head. Just some human character that hangs out with Sonic when all I want is to see Sonic hang out with his actual friends from the games

I wanted a Knuckles Show, and it’s completely upstaged by a goofy human character. This wasn’t made for fans, (despite some deep cut references & nods) this was to maximize a profit.
I can acknowledge when something has its own charm and humor, but as a Sonic fan, incredibly disappointed.

I think I read somewhere recently that the CGI animals cost a lot of money to make, which only has me wondering why they keep hiring high profile actors for these roles which definitely increases the cost for putting these characters back in. Getting Idris Elba for Knuckles just to hype up the second movie is fine, but since the Sonic Movies have been considered a big deal since that movie did we really need Keanu Reeves as Shadow? Idk if he’ll do good or bad but if they’re also planning on doing a Shadow tv show, why not cast someone whose cheaper so they can get more use out of the character and not have problems like this? At least it can mitigate the issue.
Sounds like more of a studio mandate from Paramount than a creative 1 from the director. They've been known to make dumb decisions that could've been easily avoided.
Locking down a celebrity gives your production studio clout. Building connections and portfolio. It also helps with funding. You can tell investors you got Keanu.
Idris actually took a paycut to play Knuckles, hes really only doing it to solidify his legacy to the fans. It doesn’t really require him to do anything but play a voice. Honestly its alot cheaper to get a A list celeb to voiceover a character, because they aren’t expected to get in shape for it.
If they add it the Sonic Sat AM characters from Princess Sally Acorn to Bunnie Rabbot the budget will go through the roof for Paramount Pictures.
Honestly it would cost them way too much money to cgi all 3 fur ballz for each episode & time. That’s the real reason they’re not in show as much. Also the fact they’re not even bringing Jim Carrey to the show says it all. !!!
Knuckles was my favorite part of the second Sonic movie. So happy that Knuckles has his own spin off series.
Loved the movie! Woulda rather just has tails in the 2nd movie and knuckles in the 3rd movie. Follow the video game layout for those 3. Then Shadow in 4th movie would be hype

Given how long it takes to make films, its best to combine stuff. Having Tails and Knuckles in Sonic 2 made sense. What would have been the plot without Knuckles in it? Waiting until a 3rd film to introduce Knuckles would be wasting time. Makes sense combining things into a film to save time. @BU_TV
Who ever would have guessed that Dodgeball and The Mighty Boosh would be the biggest inspirations for a live action Knuckles series in 2024 lol.
CGI is expensive, animating knuckles alone probably set them back at least 20 million for this series.
And this series is simply a placeholder for Sonic 3. It’s not intended for much profit. That’s why it’s on streaming
My biggest gripe from the sonic movie was the wedding scene. Garbage b plot that overstays its welcome. Sucks to see them continue this trend with the show. Sonic fans can never catch a break

I was expecting the worst after this review but I really enjoyed it! It was hilarious. I think I’m a knuckles fan.
It is a bummer that Knuckles got sidelined for most of the second half, but I gotta say, this show was BOLD! It really did try to stand out from the previous two films in terms of its tone and vibe, and I can't help but admire what it does, not even as just a piece of Sonic media but as something to watch and enjoy for pure comedy. That 4th episode barely had Knuckles himself in it, but his presence was all over that musical and the show was at its most surreal and absurdist there.
I like Knuckles the Series. My life is going to crap and this made me forget everything

Knuckles was orphaned when he was a child and had to survive alone in the midst of hostile environments, accustomed to living under stress and making sure he didn't get killed, being betrayed more than once throughout his life... he actually turned out pretty decent.
I enjoyed it (funnier than I was expecting), but the criticisms are correct imo.
When it comes to Sonic you gotta come in with really really really low expectations.
Sadly, it's true, as only a handful of Sonic games are actually good.

Sonic 2 was definitely at its best when the human characters weren't involved. They had so much potential with Knuckles and they completely squandered it by making Wade the main character and Knuckles barely even doing anything.
I like how they fucked up the coolest character. Good going.

While it's unfortunate that Sonic & Tails are only in that one episode, and Knuckles seems to be overshadowed by the human characters, as a Sonic fan, I'm still interested in the show.
Also, I saw in the trailer that someone from Knuckles's bloodline, named "Pachacamac" from Sonic Adventure 1, is in this, so as long as it's fun I'll be fine with it.
They should have made the Sonic movies fully animated films. The Mario movie made the right move in that regard. This Alvin and the Chipmunks “cartoon in the real world” schtick has always been tired and this new show showcases this.
Is it sad that they only past attempt to do a Sonic movie that was fully animated was pitched by Ken Penders of all people?

Entertainment has issues in making original series on streaming just like Tiny Toons Looniversity reboot. It has development issues but it’s very entertaining than Teen Titans Go period. I hope Paramount executives be careful of what they’re making even posting for their streaming service. I wanna check it out better than Velma trash on Max. Great vid, my main critics.
I was always suspicious of this show & why it's even being done.... Knuckles is cool & all, but I don't see a need for HIM of all characters to get his own Series. If anyone, that deserves to be *Shadow.*

One of the funniest reviews of a show I have ever watched. Honestly if Paramount screws up the sonic franchise we are having serious words. So much potential but delivered very little.

This show is looking to do more harm to the brand than good.
There was a point in the second movie when dumbass annoying human characters took over, and I was puzzled by that. The part where James Marsden's wife and her annoying sister had this whole buddy cop spy action buffoonery going on. That was a sign of things to come, when the CGI characters are too expensive, they have to pad the runtime with bullsh*t.

Massive Sonic Fan here, Knuckles’ show is so dissapointing. Its good but for a Knuckles show this is terrible. I thought it would be more like the Sonic Frontiers Prologue.
Some of the most compelling stories in "Sonic X" revolved more around humans than the animal characters. I'm not bothered if "Knuckles" does something similar to that. I'm excited for this series!

That makes three times Idris Elba got fucked over by a cgi animal. Zootopia, he was just a side character, CATS oh jeezus the less said about that the better! And now this.
Ehh I wouldn't say he was fucked over by a CGI animal in Zootopia. Though Bogo wasn't the main character he was still a major supporting character who was in a fair amount of scenes. When it comes to the cast Zootopia wasted I'd say Octavia Spencer and Tiny Lister got it way worse than him (God don't get me started on how they wasted Tiny Lister).
I am halfway through the show and this isn’t true at all. It’s equally Knuckles and Wade. Just like the first film was split between Sonic and Doughnut Lord. (Edit, finished yeah they didn’t watch it. Knuckles is a major part of each episode)
Wait to see the episode 4: even though we get some lore stuff, this episode is strange and a pretty insulting.

This is completely different where Knuckles is a talking living breathing character and he gets shafted in his own series.
