Excellent! Mine are over 15 years old. Over the last year we heard a big pop. The second pop happened this week. It just needs to be reglued. Wonderful tutorial. Thank you!
Hello! It’s very good VDO. I have problem with my Ant Chair too. I have some question. Would you mind to tell me that what is the name or the brand of the glue? Thank you.
Hi! Just watched this video and it is great for my project. Can I ask where you bought the disk (for in-between the seat and legs)? Thats the only part I'm missing, but its nowhere to be found online. Thanks from Oslo x
@@Stuhlbein07 thank you ! For those who glued it opposite down a heat gun and putty knife will help to unglued it. But the bevestiging plate ( mine is plastic chair is form 2007) is now a bit curved because of the heat that used to removed the glue. Than try to heat the plate again very carefully and make ik straight. I use all kind of things as heavy weights (gym) putting on it and it will be straight again but not completely. My chair is glued now but I probably wil change the plate with wood.
Danke für die Frage. Mit Araldit verklebte Teile erreichen normalerweise ihre optimale Klebkraft bei 30 °C nach 4 Std ., bei 20 °C nach 8 Std. Ich habe mit ca. 5 Kg. Gewicht beschwert.
a second chair when off well my first repair was not a great succes because i glued it upside down but manage to reverse it en do it right. A man here in the Netherlands fix this chairs changing the plastic with wood. I don't know if that a good idea is, beisdes wood will broken in a year of 2 or 3 this guy asking €220 for each chair. So i will repairing this one myself again. wish me luck !
useless effort ... 2002 F. Hansen changed A. Jacobs original design and introduced this plastic part. Gluing a stiff an sleek plastic to a flexible wood will always result in a limited lifetime, different to glueing wood to wood, which allows still some flexibility. Professional repair shops therefore throw this plastic plate away and replace it by going back to the original design by Jacobs, a wooden connecting plate. Glueing wood to wood provides a much more sustainable connection, still offering some flexibility. So. don't waste the time and money für expensive wood-plastic glue that will only last for some months, before the chairs crack again! For me, Hansen is a complete disappointment in this issue, as this design change ist exactly the opposite of "quality, craftsmanship and sustainability" the company claims for.
After having contacted more than 10 workshops, I could finally make my old Ant chair repaired by myself! Very many thanks Mr Jacobsen!

Thank you for the question. The round wooden plate is part of the shell and is broken off, so it is not commercially available individually. I guess.
Thanks so much for this movie! Did you sand away all old glue from the chair or is the sanding mainly to make the surface a bit more "rough"?
I have removed all the glue. Otherwise it won't fit nicely when I glue it again. Thanks for the question.
@@Stuhlbein07 thank you very much for this video. Which glue did you use?
I will try to repair it myself. Le estoy muy agradecida.
Gracias por su mensaje. Sí, por favor, pruébalo.

Vielen Dank :)
Merci für die Rückmeldung.
What was the reason for the masking tape over the holes?
Thank you for asking. The adhesive tapes protect the thread from glue.
@@Stuhlbein07 Thanks - That made sense once I started sanding. Great tutorial. Helped me fix my series 7 chair.
Kann mir zufällig jemand helfen und weiß den Gewindedurchmesser und die Länge der drei Schrauben zum verbinden mit dem Gestell?
M6 10mm
